Hants fans moaning about the sub, thinking Davey was a rabbit when he's opened the batting for Somerset.

In fairness, I see Scriv as part of the middle order. That's more of a compliment to him than a slight towards Davey though.

Looks like Davey might be a doubt for Sunday for a hamstring injury.

It's quite possible that he wouldn't have played anyway as he hasn't featured much in the one day cup. This is my predicted line up for Sunday:-

Eskinazi

R Patel

Ahmed

Sheikh

Kelly

Cox

B Green

Holland

Scriven

A Patel

A Green

Scriven's great. Not a potent bowler but as a 4th/5th bowling option coming in at 8, he's a good championship player

I'm convinced that he could bat much higher than 8. 6 or even 5.

Fonz seems to love stacking the side with bowling all rounders and Scriven has in the past bowled well but he's for me by far the best bat in that group.

Always comes in late, usually stuck batting with the tail and yet still so reliable. Technique is solid and he has no glaring weaknesses.

I don't get that one. He averages 20, only 6 50's and a best of 75. Why the f was he opening lol

Essex are on the verge of losing so makes it even more frustrating that this game has got away from us. Looking doomed now, especially as it hard to see anything other than a hiding from Warks in the last game of the season.

Was barely able to catch any of today

The rate Hants were scoring would suggest the pitch is doing bugger all.

Bat for a day and a half and hope for a miracle in the final round then
