Beggars belief what we've done so far this season. Near enough hammered in every game. We aren't even competing at all. All facets of the game including captaincy and coaching are sub par so far. Team selection today was honking. Budinger has to be first name on the sheet in a t20 game, Hull needs dropping, fielding was shite. Dreadful evening.

There’s just a general lack of confidence from top to bottom isn’t there. I’m sure we’ll get out of it but it’s sad given everything we’ve achieved recently.

About 15 of us were going from our cricket club in June.

Not bothering now and even a few pushing for notts.

Depressing

Yeah, that is depressing to read. Just go for the beers surely?

Not sure commercial reasons apply with Derby.Very poor crowd tonight rarely get a big crowd v Derby

For most counties, though, you'll get bigger crowds if more away fans can attend.

Agree but rarely get decent crowds v Derbyshire or Northants for that matter.

Think you need to keep the local derbies for commercial reasons but they should have had it as six groups of three local rivals who then join up with another group of three to make six - then rotate each year.

Yes, we need the local derbies but going to the Riverside and Old Trafford has run its course. Would much prefer heading to Chelmsford, Taunton, The Oval or an outground such as Beckenham or Richmond.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you, it’s been a total embarrassment so far. So many poor decisions being made by the coaches.
We are miles off where we need to be.

Would be interesting to see how many we'd take if we played Derbyshire at Repton.

We have. We used to play a game every year at Oakham school and I'm sure we played Notts at Kibworth last year in the Metro Bank

I know. I meant a T20 match.

Took my 6 year old daughter tonight for her first ever game and even though the cricket was dreadful, we did really enjoy the experience. I’ve been living in London for 15 years now and occasionally go to Surrey games - it’s always way too busy with massive queues for food and drink. Tonight felt way more relaxed and just generally a nice experience. Perfect weather too. Just a shame the game was a bit rubbish!

The Oval’s a great ground but there’s nowhere quite like Grace Road ❤️

I'm not sure batting first would have made much difference to the result. We'd have got about 160 and they'd have knocked them off in about 15 overs. We are just way off the level required. The batting lacks reliable power hitters, the bowling is inaccurate and the fielding unreliable. Losing to these so heavily is unacceptable. Bloke who has 4 wickets for them is basically a part time bowler.

He took 6.

Didn’t learn the lesson of Friday. Batting last when you have the choice, starting your innings at 8pm is suicide. Regardless of whether you think it wouldn’t have made a difference.

I can’t believe we sacrificed a bowler for a batter. The fielding was shocking. 3(?) dropped catches? The bowling was too many times too short and too predictable. They were just batter than us in every aspect of it all.

Dropping Budinger was mental. Some of them need to get their heads out of their arse and start turning up. Patel and Eskinazi in particular. Hull and Green look unfit running in to bowl. We’ve also let a part time bowler take 6 wickets.

Season is near on done in the blast already.

All a bit odd really and most of them look out of form. On paper, these are stronger teams than we were putting out last season for most Blast games, a lot of which had Matt Salisbury and Roman Walker bowling.

I reckon we bowled more than two overs worth of full tosses. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was 15 of them, so about one in every eight legal deliveries. Throw in a dropped catch every four overs…Turner’s excellent innings and 1 for 12 probably made the result more flattering for us than it should have been.

The tactic just seemed to be throw all rounders in and hopefully something sticks.

I’d like to hear from Claude and Fons about this disaster, we don’t seem to have been prepared properly for this tournament at all.
Shambolic

Explain why we have not won any match the season, need to sort it out chaps
