They all bowled ok after the first hour. Even on difficult days we seem to keep some control which is a positive.

Could have really gone pear shaped at one point. So that's positive, some control.

Said it at 11am and still say it. Weird choice at the toss.

Went down a bit later so missed Sir Viv unfortunately. Feel like the club dropped the ball on this one though to get a few more through the gates. No prior notice or advertised that well yet him and the other Windies legends were supposedly here to promote tourism and the T20 world cup.

If he was around for 2 days, the club could have had a signing session for an hour during the interval or before/after the game with discounted tickets and a lot more would have gone. What better way to promote cricket than meet a true icon of the game

Nobody wants to watch cricket in April

That's the only madness here

Don't disagree with you however we have always started in April and unless they reduce matches which I and many others don't want then don't really see a solution.. No chance you can fit 14 championship matches plus the other 3 comps if you start in May unless you want to play in October

To be fair saw a few autographs hunters down there yesterday  in the crowd of 150 that I haven't seen before maybe 20-30 who came just to see Viv and Andy

Need to mix it up a bit though, could look at some 40 over stuff perhaps early in the season.

Four CC matches in April is 2 to many in my view. Bit unlucky with the weather but your not going to get good weather in April, certainly not the first few weeks.

You could play CC cricket In the summer when the circus is on, be weakened but so is the one day cricket. Might make it more interesting.

You could do that but it makes a mockery of the CC if you have matches being played at the same time as the 100 you only have to look at the side Essex put out at Kibworth last  year imagine them fielding that side in the CC

The entire thing is a mockery really. It started with two divisions. Might wake them all up a bit.

Whatever comp goes on in the summer it's watered down. But currently the CC is just a lottery in April.

It's not easy obviously but it needs a shake up. Try and get some life back in it.

No chance private  investors  would bankroll 18 counties

I know. Just fed up we'll be having this conversation every year.

Domestic cricket really needs a Barry Hearn-type to come in, be creative and package it properly. So much potential is being deliberately wasted.

The return of 40 over cricket, especially with the 50 over One Day Cup in it's watered down 'development' state, would be an absolute no brainer to me and could be a great way to kick off the season.

In fairness, Sir Viv was a really late addition to this tour. Being done by the Antiguan Tourism Authority to promote the T20 World Cup.

Weather is winning against those who have actually won games this year.

Don't get me wrong, very fair given Middlesex have won one game without being consistent. We have been good with bat and ball but let down by weather at least once (albeit saved by rain once too)

Looking at the Weather it'll be amazing if we don't have our first full result of the season against Middlesex.

Hopefully take our good start down to Lords, although it's a completely different beast being on top form there.

17 year-old EPP youngster Usman Minhas could be a name to look out for in the future after an excellent 90 on his 2nd XI debut (I think) against Finan & co. v Northants.

Roman Walker's also back amongst the wickets on his return from injury.
