Geo V Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Not that many Leeds players have been sold yet have they? Healy to Leicester!!
hairy Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 They might not even be able to start the next season BBC Story Things just get better and better But I must say I am starting to feel for the fans now. I know I shouldn't, but they are only supporting their local club. I know most of them have ideas above their station etc but this is all going too far now, beyond a joke. They need to lynch Bates.

Now that is really funny. Does that mean every game they miss the opposition is awarded the 3 points? If so and it takes a while to resolve then they could go down to the fourth

mancunianfox Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Ha. It serves them right for trying to pull that nasty stunt anyway. Looks like they thought they were being a bit clever but it could really backfire. On the subject of the Inland Revenue how much of the debt did City pay back??? I can't blame them for not being happy with the bid, especially with such dubious companies involved.

I can't blame them for not being happy with the bid, especially with such dubious companies involved. The lot. The law has changed since then. When we did it IR, by law, was the first in the line for dosh before any other creditors could approach the debtor for an agreement. Now the IR are like the rest of the creditors.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 As a result of the earlier Inland Revenue challenge, KPMG - the administrators - has put Leeds United up for sale.
Asha Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 Fourth Division! But if leeds liquidate or go down to fourth division, Who takes their place in League One? And who takes that team' place in League Two?
Micky Ruddle Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 Lets all laugh at Leeds scum, lets all laugh at Leeds scum Ha Ha Ha Ha!!
potter3 Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 But if leeds liquidate or go down to fourth division, Who takes their place in League One? And who takes that team' place in League Two? Leeds
Blue Bob Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 LINK This just gets funnier. Leeds scum only have 17 pro players and 5 of those are teenagers. So the record seems to go that the new Leeds company could be liquidated - surely that means another relegation. The football league might make them forfit games. They have only 17 players, who right now wants to sign for them? No one is my guess. Conference here they come
SystonFox Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 leeds are going down say leeds are going down. i wouldnt laugh if it was Rushden and Diamonds or Southampton but because its Leeds i feel nothing but happy.
Thracian Posted 7 July 2007 Posted 7 July 2007 One of my lads was up in Leeds last week and brought the local papers back. Sounds like the club's in a canoe on a fast-flowing river and heading straight for the Niagara Falls. There's not just concern about the club but about the season ticket monies already committed for next season although fans were eventually assured the money's in a separate account and will be refunded in the event of the worst happening. Hopes seem to be resting on Redbus and on another interested party, Property Developer Simon Morris who have expressed an interest in taking over but Ken Bates - who even now has the right to submit another offer - remains as what seems to be an unwelcome sore on the club's skin. Fans are in a state of shock, frustration and utter despair and although it's tradition for us to delight in their misery this really is one of the great bastions of English football which is under threat. One of the papers has been doing a series highlighting all the unlikely grounds the club were due to be visiting this season - each of them the proverbial million spiritual miles from Old Trafford and Anfield (even if first up Tranmere is almost within shouting distance!). How ironic if it's once mighty Leeds who don't turn up.
Nationwider Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Mr Bates has allegedly been trying to pull a fast one on HMRC in order to speed them out of administration and back into his grubby hands. If this issue wasn't so close to our hearts, I'd be dancing in the streets. There but for the grace of God go I, I believe the saying is......
hairy Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I feel for the fans now. Yes I laughed when they got relegated but all this since is only destroying the club. KPMG seem to be making a right hash of it setting a very small timescale to receive bids.
AyewJoking Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Question: If a club goes out of business, could another club be formed (obviously in the nether regions of non league football) using the same name?
Webbo Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 All joking apart, I was working with a couple of Leeds lads a few weeks ago, they were good lads(crap plasterers mind) and Leeds fans. I'd hate to see any club go out of business, it's not fair on the genuine fans.

Kent Fox Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I believe there are a couple of people wanting to buy the club so it's not all doom and gloom for them. The problem now is Ken Bates, who has already said he will mount a legal challenge IF the club is sold. So it looks like they will end up internally combusting at this rate. If Bates would leave it now, won't they be ok as a viable (?) club?
Daphne du Maurier Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 They will survive because someone will be able to make money out of them. If only there were a block on player transfers for them - but they are allowed to do whatever to ensure 20 squad players. I would dearly like to see them docked points again and drop one division lower, but this will be a consolidation season for them.
