Matt Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 They will survive because someone will be able to make money out of them.If only there were a block on player transfers for them - but they are allowed to do whatever to ensure 20 squad players. I would dearly like to see them docked points again and drop one division lower, but this will be a consolidation season for them. We were, what's so different about them!? I have always said i'd never wish this situation on any clubs, Leeds may be a little different, Dennis Wise at the club makes it VERY different!
potter3 Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I don't want them to go out of business Don't mind about them getting relegated again but even Leeds don't deserve that
dandannieldanok Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Haha I want them to go out of business, it would be absolutely hilarious
Raj Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I don't want them to go out of business Don't mind about them getting relegated again but even Leeds don't deserve that Sorry but i disagree...the bastards deserve evrything they get. And it would be a VERY staerk reminder to everyone else in football that no matter how 'big' you think you are,you too can go down the shitter. I'd love to wake up and see Sky Sports news headline reading' Leeds United wound up"
act smiley Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I wouldn't, its not a nice thing to wish on anyone - I'd like to wake up to see something saying "Leeds bought, but still in a financial position that means they'll be playing the under-5's next season" then see them go down again (and hopefully again). A club going bankrupt is a sad thing, while Leeds in the conference is comedy!
Blue Bob Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I believe there are a couple of people wanting to buy the club so it's not all doom and gloom for them. The problem now is Ken Bates, who has already said he will mount a legal challenge IF the club is sold. So it looks like they will end up internally combusting at this rate. If Bates would leave it now, won't they be ok as a viable (?) club? I dont think Ken Bates wants to walk because he will lose millions. Whilst he picked the club up for next to nowt he has invested in the club. If he gets booted out he loses the money, if he can keep control he still has the assets of the club and the potential winfall if he can get them back in the premiership. I think this is quite funny as the tables have turned on him. He was quite happy for everyone who Leeds owe money to, to pretty much lose 99.99% of the money owed to them but when it happens to him he throws his toys out of the pram. Dont want Leeds to go out of business - who would we laugh at then??? There is also the danger that the Leeds fans then become Bradford fans and screw their club up too!!!
Leicester Lass Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Leeds United manager Dennis Wise has been fined £1,500 for using abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards a match official. Wise was fuming back in March after Leeds were denied a late penalty against Southend at Roots Halls and vented his feelings. The Football Associated clearly took a dim view of Wise's comments and a Disciplinary Commission has now fined him for his outburst.

hairy Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 KPMG have sold the club back to Bates! BBC Link The Leeds fans will not be happy
Kent Fox Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 There's a lot of undisclosed cloak and dagger stuff there. Is Bates trying to pull of a fast one here? Surely ALL details should be made public. The public want to know and I wonder where the creditors stand now.
demon_dog Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 KPMG have sold the club back to Bates!BBC Link The Leeds fans will not be happy Don't know about the Leeds fans, don't think the tax man will be to happy 'cos they still want the money they are owed. Hope they get it, why shouldn't Leeds pay the tax man. Every body else has too.

General Smuts Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 First time i've commented about the timely demise of Leeds and i cannot laugh heartily enough HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What makes it all the sweeter is that Dennis The **** Wise went down woith them! fooking brilliant, the midget fooking scumbag! For the first time ever i bought my Ipswhich supporting flatmate a pint and toasted it to Alan Lee and Leeds' relegation. Classic!
Blue Bob Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Now that Leeds have just sold Healy for £1.5 Million I really hope that it goes to paying off the debt to the inland revenue and not to Dennis Wise to spend on players.

Every body else has too. The court case is still going ahead in September. And the league have apparently banned them from signing new players. So it could get a lot worse for Leeds before it gets better...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 July 2007 Posted 16 July 2007 I love the way Sky Sports have worded this; Watford have sent three of their younger players out on trial - with a view to making loan moves. Midfielder Toumani Diagouraga, 20, has spent time on loan at Swindon and Rotherham in the past two seasons, but has joined Millwall on trial. Keeper Scott Loach, 19, has also joined a League One club - Leeds United. Meanwhile, forward Theo Robinson, 18, who has made just two substitute appearances for Watford, has linked up with League Two side Hereford.
Geo V Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...p;channel=& Kozluk explains Leeds snub; "I spoke to Dennis Wise and the chief executive at Elland Road, but they couldn't sign me because of the situation the club was in," Kozluk told the Yorkshire Post. "But, in any case, I didn't feel it was right for me. Leeds United, yes, but Dennis Wise, no.
Unit Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 Err...nothing there when I looked. Leeds UnitedSuper Leeds, as they are often known, (not true, of course) are one of the most hated clubs in the world. This is because they cheat and play dirty football. Once a Premiership side, Leeds are now in League 1/Division 2 - old terms - (simply because Hull City are too good for them) and sinking fast. And in most cases even gays tend to use the club's logo as a protest against homosexual rights. Leeds also top the English football leagues in arrests for hooliganism which of course makes them the greatest team in the land - if you don't fight drunkenly with opposing fans you're obviously a gay. But after all is said and done Leeds will one day be back to former glory, that is winning premierships against the local park football team after being relegated out of every league in England. Leeds United are also in the red because they did not pay there electric and gas bill from british gas, which now comes to a total of £64,678,655 for lighting and gas fees because they cant kick a ball. Leeds United has just been re-sold to previous owner Ken Bates, who has promised to continue the club free-falling slide into oblivion, much to the delight of every other Football side in Europe, fans however really couldn't care less as they are too busy worrying about the local marbles side, having given up on LUAFC when they hit the championship, like most bandwagoners do.
MC Prussian Posted 26 July 2007 Posted 26 July 2007 Now they can't even sign a goalkeeper anymore: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ted/6915926.stm
