Ultra Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 The day he's appointed here will be the day I fook off to support Dagenham. Not that I'm concerned, I can't see him getting the job in a zillion years - but what do I know? A damn sight more than the moronic Mandaric, by the look of it. By the way, I'd be off to support Farsley Celtic..
Babylon Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 He also took them down again. I don't care... I just want to get there. Who do you want Coleman? Ince? Great record they have!!!
Ultra Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 There's a list as long as your average Thracian post of managers who have won promotion to the Premiership but would you want Peter Reid? Micky Adams? Nigel Worthington? Warnock is just another Graeme Souness, someone who trades on a lazy reputation as a passionate man.Two big, immobile strikers who are there primarily to act as targetmen for four hulking great defenders or as the first line of defence. Random team selections at the best of times. Falling out with players left, right and centre. Taking eight years to get promoted. Bottling the big games. Signing players over the age of 30 for seven figures on more than one occasion. Openly encouraging negative tactics, foul play and gamesmanship. Awful man-management. Generally being a massive Sheffield United fan who has just achieved all he can with the team of his dreams and now wants a plaything for a couple of years. How much passion and desire has he got left for a club he has always treated with derision? There is a reason why he is disliked by most Sheffield United fans. At last, someone using reason and logic in a post. Don't think it'll catch on here though...
Dr The Singh Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 At last, someone using reason and logic in a post. Don't think it'll catch on here though... I get a feeling it will all end in tears!!!
City Fan Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I do still want Warnock, but remembering that he signed Ade Akinbiyi has put a little bit of doubt in my mind!
Ultra Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I don't care... I just want to get there.Who do you want Coleman? Ince? Great record they have!!! Coleman can at least keep a team in the top flight, which is more than this toerag has EVER done! Unless Mandaric sees sense, we'll end up like Leeds, or worse!
Dames Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 At last, someone using reason and logic in a post. Don't think it'll catch on here though... Nope, People on here are regarding him has a God of managers. The fact is we can do much better, his record isnt THAT GOOD, he hates leicester, he will only be here for the publicity and wages. He has no skill in the transfer market signing 30 year olds for 7 figure sums (which Fez pointed out) spending 1.2 Million on Akinbyi which is bad enough, also spending over a million on Horsefield and then falling out with him, i don't want this man wasting Milans money on old duffer strikers. The mans a dunce and an arsehole. Face it.

WE AREN"T IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE. We need a manager who can get us there first. As soon as he got a bit of investment at Sheff U they started doing well, not just promotion but all the cup runs they had too. If he wasn't such a **** people wouldn't be moaning about getting him as his recent record at this level is good. I don't care if we are hated, I just want someone to sort out the fecking mess we are in. HE isn't my first choice either i'll make that clear, but out of the people I think would accept the job he is high on the list.

He knew he wasn't good enough for the prem, they got him to try and help get there. Every manager has signed duff players, name one that hasn't!!! The facts are the players he bought for Sheff U last time in this division got them promoted... take off your bloody blinkers. What manager can we get that is MUCH better then? Who has said he's a god, jesus you don't half write some crap.

As I said about 10 pages ago, the only reason he'd come would be to finish the job that W**e started. He would do for us what W**e is doing for Leeds. And there are a lot of candidates out there with a far better record in this league than he has!

Who has said he's a god, jesus you don't half write some crap. Its people calling him an excellent manager. So you think its ok the man should waste 3 million on strikers on 1 he wont use and another he will use sparingly for half a season ? Fact is Milan won't invest that much and i don't want this guy buying players for 7 figure sums that won't play or will barely play. We can get much better. Adams and Worthington have Similar records to him and both spent less money and time doing that. Even Keegan would be a better shout Ex-England manager and has been promoted out of this division before and kept the team up.

Good lord, you really think he hates us so much. Who are these other candidates with "far better records"?
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I have no idea what to think anymore. I suppose only time will tell, but I can't say Warnock would fill me with excitement, I would still personally go for coleman, but we had better hurry up or all the managers will go.

The money was spent to get up and they did, the 3 million spent helped them get the £30 million when they got up. Adams and Worthingtons achievements were quite a few years before his, they didn't reach many semi finals either... Sheff U did. This is the kind of manager we are in the market for, people need to stop dreaming.
teblin Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Who evers the manager, we need to give them a chance. Think this Warnock issue might be ofset by a few big names coming in.
Babylon Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Who evers the manager, we need to give them a chance.Think this Warnock issue might be ofset by a few big names coming in. Exactly.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Who evers the manager, we need to give them a chance.Think this Warnock issue might be ofset by a few big names coming in. as ever, if they are in blue with a fox on their chest, they will get my full support and willingness to do well.
Ultra Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 So he'd come here to to relegate us... that's your argument. Good lord, you really think he hates us so much. As he's hardly had a good word to say about us in the last 20+ years........yes! Who are these other candidates with "far better records"? Off the top of my head, I can name.. Bryan Robson Glenn Hoddle Jean Tigana Nigel Worthington Peter Reid (!!) Gary Megson (!!!) But I personally would go for a young, up and coming manager like Martin Allen or Simon Grayson, rather than a failed has-been who would only be tempted here by the money.
Daggers Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 In interviews with SU players recently - they all highly rate him: "He is the sort of manager you would die for" is one such quote from Saturday. Currently, here's a number of players in our squad that I wish would just **** off and die. I see these two things as being mutually beneficial
Ultra Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Who evers the manager, we need to give them a chance.Think this Warnock issue might be ofset by a few big names coming in. Yeah, people will be queuing up to sign for such a respected manager with an illustrious and exemplary record of success. As if we hadn't been bled dry enough in recent seasons by has-beens seeking to top up their pensions at our expense..
Babylon Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 As he's hardly had a good word to say about us in the last 20+ years........yes!Off the top of my head, I can name.. Tigana yes, Hoddle maybe... the others not recently. I'd like a young up and comer to, but one with experience in this league (top 6 finshes). I think the state we are in we need to take as little a gamble as we can. I'd love a Billy Davies, be it aint gonna happen.
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Quite a few people are saying that he hates Leicester based on what he said ages ago but common sense tells us that ifhe hated us he wouldnt come here. Wayne Rooney is a Scouser who aer all meant to hate Mancs but he goes off to United and is court on video singing anti-Liverpool songs and Alan Smith, a typical phoney so called die-hard Leeds fan and fans legend goes to Manu and kisses the badge ! The point is that just because soemthing is said ona couple of occasions it doesnt mean that people should take that and hold it against him years on. One other thing to point out about Warnock is that I think he has become a better manager with age. People say his team play negative football but I dont believe that to be acurate. Sheff U managed to beat some good footballing sides like Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Middlesbro and Newcastle this season. There is also nothing wrong with playing either defensive football or direct football if the situation is needy of a more aggresive approach. You cant go to Old Trafford and try and play them at there game because you`ll getr mullered and he is open enougha nd realistic enough to say that some of the opponents that his team has faced this season are almost from another planet! I think we should all rallya round him if he comes in and stop this silly throwing the toys out of the pram routine of not watching the side any more or even selling the season ticket! We are accusing him of being useless before we have had the chance to see what he does! Innocent until proven guilty everyone!
Daggers Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I'm happy to have it over and done with - I keep looking on the OS for the press conference announcement...only to have my heart broken. I want to hear about player clear-outs and signings.
