Leicfox Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Warnock must do. They've decided it would be funny to strike up a dream team and piss the Leicester fans off. Aye up theear orl ah'm neil warnock ah cum i' peace 'n will doa t' job teur t' best o' uz ability.
Dames Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 This is a quite fun debate. I don't like the man i've voiced my opinion i don't want him here but if he comes he comes its not my decision. I'll be around longer than the bloke so i'll bite my tounge and wait it out. If he does get some success and some decent players in then i'll applaud his managerial ability but i still won't sing his name or over praise him. For now we'll see what happens hopefully he doesn't but its not looking likely at the moment.
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Agree with this. People are giving 'He's a massive Sheffield Utd fan', as a reason why they don't want him. That's ridiculous, he's a professional, not matter what club he 'supports' he'll give 100% while he's here. If you want a decent manager that actually supports Leicester we could be looking for a VERY long time. People have selective memories. When MON turned up and started winning all was forgotten about his career as a Forest player. When Kisnorbo started playing well in defence people all of a sudden said he was good but I had previously witnessed him getting some monumental abuse when he played for us in his earlier days. Williams went from a Forest player who was linked to a £4m move to Rangers in the tabloids to a great player to sign to a leight-weight tree in a couple of years . The good thing is that time is a healer and those who may hate the idea of having seen NW moan at a ref or give a frank but honest TV interview where he slates someone like he did Man Utd and Liverpool for playing weakened sides recently, I think that once he is on our side we will actually appreciate what he is saying and side with him. Someone mentioned it before as being similar to the Robbie Savage situation. We loved him (generally) but the rest of the league hated him. The truth is whenever I have seen him interviewed (spends loads of time on Soccer AM ) he seems like a really nice bloke and on the pitch he gave his all dispite his limitations. Youre average fan didnt care though and still boo him just liek Ronaldo gets now for Man Utd a yaer on from getting Rooney sent off (but Rooney forgave him quite quickly). Give the bloke a chance if he comes in people!
STUHILL Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I know ppl get bored of these but anyone else want a quick poll on the latest feelings on who wants who? Now that Warnock has entered the picture, it will be interesting to see if he is more popular than Coleman, who i believe was the favourite on the last poll we did....
Ultra Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 From the Mandaric mouthpiece.. WARNOCK NOT TOP OF MY LIST, SAYS MILAN BY BILL ANDERSON WWW.THEBLUEARMY.CO.UK Milan Mandaric today described Neil Warnock as "only one of several candidates" he will be considering in the next few days for the Leicester City job. Suggestions that Warnock had been singled out as his main target, and even that he was about to be named as Robert Kelly's successor, were dismissed by Mandaric. That is despite the fact that City's owner is a professed admirer of the former Sheffield United boss. Mandaric, speaking on his return from America today, said: "Neil Warnock is a good and experienced manager and could be under consideration, but he is only one of several on the list I will be considering. "As it is such an important decision, I will not be rushed." It is understood Mandaric had a short-list of five names, four of whom are currently with clubs, plus caretaker boss Nigel Worthington. Warnock was understood not to be on that list, but his sudden availability has naturally aroused Mandaric's interest. But Mandaric said: "I have had no dialogue with him or anyone else.'' Mandaric is hopeful of naming the man in charge by the end of the month and, as in the case of Warnock, there could be further developments if other managers in the top two divisions become available. Speculation surrounding Warnock increased yesterday when he resigned as manager of Sheffield United, and one newspaper said he would be the next boss of Leicester City. Asked about the speculation, Warnock said: "There are a lot of clubs who will be looking for someone, and looking at what managers can do for that particular club. "I think there will be opportunities in the next weeks or months. I want to go somewhere where there will be the chance of success." The 58-year-old added: "I am looking forward to one more challenge in my career. "I don't know where that will be. I have nothing lined up." So not quite a done deal yet? Thank fcuk for that!!
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 It is understood Mandaric had a short-list of five names, four of whom are currently with clubs, plus caretaker boss Nigel Worthington. I dont know wher that one comes from? He must be looking at Davies and maybe some managers in the lower leagues then???! Or maybe the Tigana rumour was an acurate one??!
Dames Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Warnock, 58, says he wants one final challenge and he has been linked with both Leicester and Crystal Palace but insists he has had no contact with any clubs. He said: "I know there will be a lot of fans who would love Neil Warnock as their club's next boss. "I'm looking forward to the challenge of going to a club who want to be as successful as quickly as me. "That's what I'm looking for, a new challenge to bring the sparkle back. I don't feel tired, I feel refreshed now I have made the decision because with all the circumstances, I think it is right." Dream on mate. (Taken from the BBC site)
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 It may well be because I am now officially a mouthy confident Londoner (even got the accent now ) but I prefer the nutters is the press conference or on the bench like Brian Clough (shoot me down in flames ) or the more modern ones like Fergie, Moaninho or Warnock although there managerial achievements do differ slightly .
teblin Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 It is understood Mandaric had a short-list of five names, four of whom are currently with clubs, plus caretaker boss Nigel Worthington. That is very interesting.

Yep could be made-up crap from the papers but is quite specific, I hope the Saint's boss Burley is one of them!
Rich_Sheffield Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/6665547.stm personally I think warnock is a bellend. If he comes to leicester i'd be well pissed off his signing this year at blades have been pretty poor. Most of the Sheff U fans at my work think he's he'll come to leicester, wasn't he offered a job at portsmouth by milan a while ago. think i'd prefere worthington to warnock
teblin Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I'd go with the one in a job are Dowie, Grayson, davies , maybe tigana as he is until the 27th.
fox123 Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 He's favourite for the Northern Ireland job let's hope they hurry up and appoint him!
Daggers Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 NOW ON YOUR KNEES ALL OF YOU I wasn't planning on blowing you anyway - but now you haven't even bothered to say 'please' you can count me out absolutely.
Ric Flair Posted 17 May 2007 Author Posted 17 May 2007 The manager roller coaster takes yet another twist.
Finnegan Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Got any more clichés up your sleeve there, Mr. Flair?
Chrysalis Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Why why why why why? no point asking mate, they want a manager with a personality they like. I want someone who doesnt give a f*** who they piss off and just gets the job done.
Chrysalis Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Coleman can at least keep a team in the top flight, which is more than this toerag has EVER done!Unless Mandaric sees sense, we'll end up like Leeds, or worse! dont we have to get to the top flight first?
Chrysalis Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Its people calling him an excellent manager. So you think its ok the man should waste 3 million on strikers on 1 he wont use and another he will use sparingly for half a season ? Fact is Milan won't invest that much and i don't want this guy buying players for 7 figure sums that won't play or will barely play. We can get much better. Adams and Worthington have Similar records to him and both spent less money and time doing that. Even Keegan would be a better shout Ex-England manager and has been promoted out of this division before and kept the team up. Umm yes, can never have enough strikers. Having a striker you dont use is better then not having enough it keeps the ones playing on their toes.
Guest Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Tell me that you're not in that outfit Lisa. How's a man supposed to concentrate at work?Sorry, it was that or the Wonder Woman one, but Carl's wearing that today.
Chrysalis Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I wouldn't mind from this list.Tigana. Davies (yes if they dont go up we can get him) Burley (why not ? Similar club etc) McCarthy Simpson Holloway. Keegan. Worthington. Coleman. Allen. Slade. All could do a better job than Warnock. And are all reachable if we actually tried. Why does it have to be someone out of work ? Tigana. - no experience in this division Davies (yes if they dont go up we can get him) - good choice but be impossible to get if derby go up Burley (why not ? Similar club etc) - good choice but I think he probably say no McCarthy - as above Simpson - who? Holloway. - ok but would be not top of my list Keegan. - I think has no hunger anymore Worthington. - in my opinion a good choice but not as good as warnock Coleman. - no experience in this division horrible away record Allen. - a gamble but would put hub above coleman Slade. - who? Warnock has to be top choice he would probably get us in top 8 first season at least as we can expect MM to back him I would exect many strikers which is a good thing. with his age he will want a fast promotion which is what we all want.
Finnegan Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Umm yes, can never have enough strikers.Having a striker you dont use is better then not having enough it keeps the ones playing on their toes. That's the most retarded thing I've heard.
Leonisco Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Noooooo, we can't appoint Colin, then I'll have to remove my sig. Oh yeah, and he's a cock-end.
Dames Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Umm yes, can never have enough strikers.Having a striker you dont use is better then not having enough it keeps the ones playing on their toes. You don't get my point. He Spent 1.2 mill on a striker he said he's never going to play. And then spent Near enough the same amount maybe a bit more on a striker he was only going to play for half a season. Theres no logic to it the mans a money wasting dunce. If your gunna spend that kind of money at least do it on a player that has a part in the clubs future aswell.
