New Signings - On OS

Good afternoon,

I can confirm that Bruno N'Gotty and Jimmy Nielsen have signed for Leicester City.

They are the first of two players that have agreed to join. Both have a wealth of experience and I believe they will be major assets for the season ahead.

Also, I am delighted that we have recruited Don Mackay to help me with my recruitment of players at the top level.

He brings experience. At times he will be able to give me guidance and support and I am looking forward to working with him and picking his brains to improve me and help me develop.

"In April 2004, Jimmy Nielsen and fellow teammate David Nielsen raked up a debt of £160,000 with Aalborg bookies. AaB director Lynge Jacobsen decided to help them both out financially, as well as giving the team councelling lessons for gambling addiction. Nielsen continued as a stalwart in the AaB team, and was eventually named team captain. In 2006, Jimmy published an autobiography called 1000 pÃ¥ rød (lit. "1000 on red")."

I'm pleased with both of these however I don't really know much of their abilities. We certainly needed a new goalkeeper, let's hope Jimmy is the man.

The most important question that needs answering is, does Jimmy Nielsen dye his eyebrows?

Keep the man clear from Stearman socials!!

N'Gotty hmmm old man but should bring some experince and decent cover/competition for places into the back line. Should mean we never see Kenton at Centre back again as well, can't be bad.

And how can anyone be upset about the signing of someone with the nick name "Casino Jimmy" excellent. Henderson can sling his hook now.

Bruno N'Gotty Factfile

Posted on: Mon 04 Jun 2007Leicester City confirmed the capture of French defender Bruno N'Gotty from Birmingham City on a free transfer on Monday.

The 35-year-old centre half started his career at hometown club Olympique Lyonnais, where he went on to make over 230 appearances between 1999-95.

A three-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain followed before N'Gotty made the move to Italian giants AC Milan in 1998. The player made 34 appearances during a two-year spell at the San Siro.

He returned to France to play for Olympique Marseille in 2001, before joining Bolton Wanderers, initially on loan, a year later.

N'Gotty went on to make 134 Premiership appearances for the Trotters during a four-year stint at the Reebok Stadium, and was a linchpin in the Lancashire club's success during that period. His time with Bolton came to an end in 2006 when he joined Birmingham City. The player went on to make 25 Championship starts for the Blues last season, scoring one goal.

N'Gotty has signed a two-year deal with the Foxes.

You can't knock bruno's pedigree

Paris St Germain

Ac Milan

Lyon

Bolton (over 100 games in prem)

Promoted with brum

Quite easy to knock his age though. 35, old man.

Still you are right about his pedigree he is streets ahead of anyone else we have in that department.

He has the experiance of being in a winning team and playing at a quality level, lets hope he still has the ability and legs

And Jimmy, I love his hair, he reminds me a bit of Niemi, I hope he's as good.

Mad dog and Casino-Jimmy : Nice.

2004 Danish Goalkeeper of the Year

Shame about the old bloke...prove me wrong Bruno. Prove me wrong.

I've been thinking about N'Gotty. Players with a pedigree like that can often comfortably piss about at a lower level when they get in to their mid thirties. I think he'll add some presence and experience. I just hope we don't sell Kisnorbo as a result of this.

You'd hope - but he was frozen out of the Brum side by people without his pedigree...and only forced his way back in by adopting a right-back role.

My heart wants him to be great, my head is worried...but I'll trust to the two men rebuilding the whole club: I can't see that we can afford to lob out Kis unless we are signing more defenders, but if we replace him qith quality I'm not going to grouse.

I'm just happy that stuff is now happening - roll on the pre-season :D
