Foxes Capture Cort

"I believe I'm going to get the best out of him. I'm going to work him hard and push him to maximise his ability. Then the ball is in his court."

Doesn't sound like he's gonna take any shit. So long as he's free, I don't see the problem even if he turns out to be awful.

Although hearing Allen say that is refreshing, it indicates to me that perhaps Allen is a little suspicious of Cort due to his injuries and lazyness and therefore why would he go out of his way to sign him? Another signing from Milan Mandaric?

Disagree with you Ric.

I know he had similar issues with McLeod and he seems keen to bring him in.

Allen is clearly someone who relishes a challenge of getting underperformers firing.

Give him a chance.

He is a good free transfer to be fair. I think some people still believe we are a Prem club who could easily get Harewood etc :frusty:

Thats not going to happen at the mo.

Let's hope so.

I wonder when the midfield revolution will kick in.

Jarvis, Hendrie, Danns & Seth Johnson as back up would do me.

Can't be any worse than Elvis so I will reserve judement on him until he plays.

Cort. He doubtless has ability, but how many months of that 2 year deal will be spent on the physio table? Wolves released him because of persistent injuries. Another Lee Morris then? The signing smacks of style over substance, a player with a past high-profile taken on board for that profile rather than on recent years' form.

Mind you, when he comes on as a sub in the 80th minute to head home the winner in next year's play-off finals i'll happily retract these comments!

Erf, don't make me start a Keep Seth Johnson out of Leicester campaign.

Sounds great to me.

I actually think Tiatto is a bit of a loss. It's hard to find bite these days.

Seth Johnson is a player I've never liked.

What's Matt Oakley up to these days?

I rate him, horrible player to play against. He's served Derby well this season. I can't think of a better midfielder as back-up on a free other than perhaps Kishishev?

Still at Derby, had a great season for them as did Johnson may I add.

On a side note, does anyone know exactly what sort of injuries Cort suffers regularly from?

It may be relevant that his knee troubles could now be over - his last lay-off was for corrective cartilage surgery which means he should be fine now for the duration of his contract. Source

Also of note is that he banged all his goals in for Wolves towards the begining of his contract...which is fine if he nets 31 goals for us this season - I'd forgive him a barren 08/09 in that case :P:D

Oakley's a sheep shager.

Always been a fan of McPhail.

Kind of lost his way recently.

Last spotted trying to play cultured balls around the middle of the park for Barnsley to players who weren't on his wavelength.

There's a player I'd take as a backup, if available.

Bet no one agrees though.

I do actually, I was pissed off we missed out on him last season. Likewise with another recent Barnsley player - Grant McCann.

Is McPhail at Caaaardiff now?

Hume, Fryatt, Cort, Sappleton that's surely not enough strikers for the whole season?

It's obvious Mandaric offers these players massive wages if they're all turning down Prem club's for us. The wage bill will be ridiculously high by the end of the summer

Your also forgetting Dodds. :dunno:

People just keep forgetting him like he's nothing, i'll have you know hes the best natural finisher at this club!

Haha, McPhail is at Cardiff, moved there last summer.

You are so far off the pace mate. First Halford for half a million from Colchester, now this. lol

Is he playing regularly for them?

Hadn't heard his name crop up.

Reckon we should return to Wolves to swoop for Bull/Goodman too. DreamTeam.

Yes, very regularly, and playing very well at that I believe.

I love being able to post all I want without fear of being top of the posters list, as LD3 has somehow manager 187 posts in the last 24 hours lol.

Do you actually worry about that then?

Do you have a good reputation/image to upkeep that we just don't know about?

Yours Acerbically,

James. (23)

sappleton surely wouldnt be in the running at this stage for regular games?

id say, they need another striker to keep competition high

i would say that maybe subconciously huim and fryatt wouldnt have performed to the maximum levels knowing

elvis was their only threat for a place
