Law of averages says that when we sign a player who has "been there and dunnit and turned out to be crap" i.e. D*nnis W*se, Nathan Blake, Martin Keown, Andy Johnson blah blah, one must turn out to be a gem surely !!

Have to say though, I am very disapointed with the signings we have made so far! We are going for promotion are we not?? Yet we have just signed a player who was not even wanted by a Wolves side, who we will be hoping to finish higher than next season! Where is are dam ambition? So what if he was on a free, Todorov is on a free! Ngotty as well, someone who is surely going to struggle for pace at the back, and not be able to play in the Prem when we get there! Stappleton, a kid released by QPR, ok maybe released for discipline issues but surely not that good if QPR didn't seem worth holding on to him! Jimmy Nielsen too? err Jimmy who? 29yr old keeper who I doubt is going to be much better than Hendo or Logan! Where are the ambitious signings, like the Todorovs or Eastwoods of this world. Where are the young talents from the lower leagues like Matt Jarvis, Billy jones, etc. I'm sorry to sound so negative but I dont know how anyone can get excited over any of the signings we've made, all it is, is wishful thinking! I'm travelling with a Stoke fan and when i told him we had signed Carl Cort....he laughed, and then said, I thought Manderic was trying to get you lot promoted.... Sums up the signings perfectly I think!

Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 i will accept that i am only a boot cleaner and know my place in life on the Carl Cort issue belive if he stays injury free may become a LCFC legend I was intially disappointed tbh, but the news that Allen says he will work him hard to get the best out of him is heartening, cos on top of his game he is good. It's just that he has rarely been on top of his game in the last few years. Maybe Allen is the man to do it?

As low budget transfers, of players we can realistically attract go, I'm very pleased with this.

However, I have faith in MA and MM to get the best out of Cort. Also not going to write him off just yet, lets just see what he can do.Looks like RN FOX on TB was right with this one, except he said about it on Wednesday, wonder why its taken so long to be announced. Wonder whether Jonathan Hayes will be announced today as well? I'm starting to believe that MA is dragging it all out so we have one thing announced each day, i.e. yesterday was RD and MdV being put on the tranny list. Tranny list? Is that where they have to wear womans clothes until they are bought by another club?
