Daggers Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Sporting Director and Assistant Manager. Portly gents, huh?!
ibbosuk Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 My mate's a Necastle fan and he reckons that Cort could still cut the mustard in the Championship, he says that he showed promise in the Prem but was hit by various injuries. In my opinion, for a free, this is excellent news. Its not for "FREE" as we are supposed to of "Beaten off 4 other clubs including a Premiership club" so Mr Cort has cost us a good chunk of dosh and can not be looked on as some sort of "FREE BEE". We have been stuffed all to many times with these "Sick Note Types" IE Morris, Sturridge...... No I'm not happy, sounds like we not going to sign the players I thought.
potter3 Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Sporting Director and Assistant Manager. I always imagined Don Mackay to be a tall, slim, cold kind of guy
Mark Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Major transfer coup... Only read a couple of pages but it's been a strange response, Corts absence from the Wolves team is one of the reasons why Wolves picked up promotion form since late last year. They brought in quality up front to replace him, he hasn't played since November for a reason. Also a 1 year contract would be sufficient for a player who has underperformed for a couple of seasons now.
Ric Flair Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Sporting Director and Assistant Manager. Don Mackay looks quite scary in that picture.

I just think Martin Allen is the right kind of boss for him. Since Kinnear, he's been managed by rubbish, by and large. MA won't take anything less than 100%.

Having said that we did want to beat of the "Premiership Club" that went in for him I suppose
Mark Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 N'Gotty, Cort, Neilsen, it's wrong direction for me. I can only see Neilsen having more than a season at this level left in him, and Cort will do well to play 20 games in our first team and reserves. If we must have a big man up front then he's got to have mobility, as we've seen with De Vries it's no use whatever having someone up top who struggles to get about. He's got to have some sort of fitness and hunger left him, that's doubtful as well. Totally uninspiring.
Daggers Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I can only see Neilsen having more than a season at this level left in him Why? He's only 29. Keepers go on till they draw pensions.

Not everyone's cup of tea but i'm looking forward to the new season, that has not been the case for the two previous.
Leonisco Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I'm relatively pleased with this signing. All we need now is a winger to put the ball on his head.
The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I'm relatively pleased with this signing. All we need now is a winger to put the ball on his head. Jarvis. Not really his natural game, but I've seen him do it. Where's Danny Pugh these days as an aside? I've been wanting us to sign him for ages.

Between about 27 and 33 is the spell in which goalkeepers are at their best! 29 is nothing for a keeper, he has at least another 5 years yet......

Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Everyone's misreading what Mark said. He said Nielsen's got more than a season left in him.
Mark Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Between about 27 and 33 is the spell in which goalkeepers are at their best! 29 is nothing for a keeper, he has at least another 5 years yet...... Yeah... Neilsen is the only one who will play more than a season at this level - that's what I thought I'd put previously? I'm relatively pleased with this signing. All we need now is a winger to put the ball on his head. No worries I hear Jonathan Hayes is on his way. I admire everyones optimism but this is the sort of signing our other MA would have made, his legs have totally gone I'm afraid. The sad thing is we seem obsessed with these players whoever the manager is.
Stevosevic Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Cort feels fantastic and he says his injuries are behind him http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1034378,00.html
The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Please - let's give Cort a go. He's not a has-been and when he's had an injury free period, he's actually scored goals.
Sods Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Cort feels fantastic and he says his injuries are behind him http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1034378,00.html true lets hope, but hes not going to say i feel fooked and ive got no hope of playing this season
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Please - let's give Cort a go.He's not a has-been and when he's had an injury free period, he's actually scored goals. If he stays fit, which he wont
James. Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Please - let's give Cort a go.He's not a has-been and when he's had an injury free period, he's actually scored goals. The good news is that IF he keeps injury-free I can see him scoring 15-20+ in the Championship. Assuming we get a decent midfield in place.
