The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 His biggest asset is his fitness. He's always been capable of playing 40+ games a season, which is harder than it sounds when you consider how injury-hit some players are.Thing is, although he will play pretty much every game, he's not the tallest and might not score goals. His quality is questionable. His wages will be virtually zilch but I think it's a shame we didn't pay out a massive wedge for him. You're so contrary. I might start calling you Mary Mary.
City Fan Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 From RN Fox on TB again, apparently as well as Jon Hayes: The next piece of news is that MA is signing another player as I write. Will let you know who it is when I know.

City Fan Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Is it not this reading full back then? interesting If you read my post it says "as well as" Jon Hayes (the Reading full back)!
lookwhaticando Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 183 posts is immense. LD3's rampage hit 223 at one point. :pinch: jme was trailing him at 200 ----- What's with all these 'sources' at the club... surely leaking such information is frowned upon by the powers that be? There may be trouble ahead....
Stevosevic Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 If you read my post it says "as well as" Jon Hayes (the Reading full back)! My bad
He's not bald Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Your also forgetting Dodds. People just keep forgetting him like he's nothing, i'll have you know hes the best natural finisher at this club! On behalf of a Mr Thracian maybe?
teblin Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Carl Cort 05/06 - Some good goals in there. Keep him fit get a goos couple of wingers he'll deff put the ball in.
City Fan Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Carl Cort 05/06 - Some good goals in there. No spectacular goals but seems to be a good predator around the box. Reminds me of Fryatt more than Hume, I can't really see Cort playing alongside Fryatt because they are both too similar.

Daggers Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 He'll go over on that knee before long and that will be all for at least 4 months. Is he fit to start pre-season or is he currently carrying a niggling injury? Hes scored 31 in 94 for Wolves, i imagine a fair few of those appearances were as a substitute His last game was mid-November before undergoing hospitalisation for a cartlidge operation. He spent three months convalesing and then failed to break back into the squad. 78 appearances plus 16 as sub - no goals last season but a decent horde over the previous two. Reckon he's good for at least 15 a season, and he'll be helping whoever to bag more. I'm OK with this signing. I bet Thracian will give it a +0.33

The People's Hero Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I don't think Thracian will like this. He's not young enough, he doesn't make you think IMPACT IMPACT IMPACT and to be fair, he's not THAT good looking, either.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I think he looks like that bloke Steve off MTV, who I was think was the same bloke who was the DJ on Ali G's chatshow. And if it wasn't the same bloke then he looks like both of them.

That is the worst picture I've seen taken of any one, ever
Daggers Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 He's all about the you't - and Cort's thighs will have been pampered beyond belief, Thracian will love them. Fact.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 My mate's a Necastle fan and he reckons that Cort could still cut the mustard in the Championship, he says that he showed promise in the Prem but was hit by various injuries. In my opinion, for a free, this is excellent news.
Blue Bob Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 He could be a good signing for us. I guess City have done a thorough medical on him knowing his history - if anything had come up we wouldnt have signed him so I guess he has a clean bill of health. He needs a good preseason to make sure he is fit, if he can then find some of his earlier form he could be as good as signing as Collymore was. £7 Million player on a free cant go to wrong.

Collymore was one of the most talented (if totally nuts) footballers this country has ever produced. If Carl Cort's so good & is over his injury problems, why would promotion-chasing Wolves get rid of him. He'll do a job for us but let's not get carried away
Kent Fox Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Don't get me wrong coz I'm chuffed with this signing but Collymore is probably better even now that CC. Stan is/was the man. But as andyh1884 says - totally nuts!!
Darkzzz_ Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Just wanted to add that for a free transfer its a great bit of business... I think MA will get the best from him, he is a good target man and could work well with HUUUUME !! I am excited about all the transfer talk, but we do seem to be getting linked with everyone at the moment, maybe Henry will be the next one!!
City Fan Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Didn't Collymore recently say that he wanted to get back into football? Go on Martin, snap him up.
Babylon Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Who's his mates? Sporting Director and Assistant Manager.
