Raj Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 OOOh Dear oh Dear. I think we have all made our points to the thread starter in stating that his'nemesis' was a jealous, idiot. We don't have to make a big issue out of other remarks people may have inadvertantly made surely? Im sure we have put jme's mind at rest and let that be the end of it! There is good and bad in ALL walks of life!
James. Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I didn't say all i just said 'Rich kids' meaning the majority.I'm just speaking my mind and most of the 'Rich kids' i've come across are indeed arseholes. Anyway the point is that discrimination works both ways but if you ignore it, work hard and have drive you can succeed whatever people (rich or poor) say about you.
AoWW Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Anyway the point is that discrimination works both ways but if you ignore it, work hard and have drive you can succeed whatever people (rich or poor) say about you. Well said.
Dames Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Anyway the point is that discrimination works both ways but if you ignore it, work hard and have drive you can succeed whatever people (rich or poor) say about you. And thats the moral of this story.
Smudge Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Success, in my opinion, is about being content with who you are; reinforcement of that comes from those who really care about you; right now, it's your probably your parents, siblings, best mates and girlfriend. If you spend your life worrying about what others think of you, you'll be sweating an awful lot of small stuff. As you move on, people and incidents like this will dissapear into the mists of time and you'll wonder why on earth you have given this matter such priority. You mention 'rich kids" and infer that you are disadvantaged, that just isn't true. Intelligence and the hard work put into learning brings pass grades not living in a four bed detatched but you know that don't you? Being called a "fake and a joke" is only hurtful if it comes from someone you respect, everyone else is irrelevant. So think about where it's coming from don't overly react and take the high ground; shake you head, say nothing, smile to yourself and walk away. I sincerely hope that you pass your exams but when you do, it doesn't mean that you are or will be successful. Passing them is a statement to future employers that you have the ability to learn and to a standard. They are, of course, also a passport to higher education but even getting a PHd doesn't mean diddly squat, if you are unhappy.
Hullfox Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Seems to me that you're on the right path Jamie. For me, hard work and knowing right from wrong will serve you well as you go forward. As long as you can go to bed on an evening knowing you gave your best, don't give a monkeys about what the low life's think.

Wezleylowski Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Good luck with your exams JME Anyway ignore that big headed cnut and have his pants down in your exams
Daggers Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Hullfox is my mentor. I'm not keen on the idea of that "hard work" nonsense he's talking about though...

Lillehamring Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 i think ex-stone roses frontman, ian brown, summed up what everyone here is saying to you: "it's not where you're from - it's where you're at"
Bert Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Jamie. Fook them. You're a sound lad, with good intentions, you're a good mate and have some good mates. Don't let anyone else let you think otherwise or let them change your mind. It's your life, live it how you want to. If this person means nothing to you, then well, what they say doesn't really matter.
Bert Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Good luck with your exams JME Anyway ignore that big headed cnut and have his pants down in your exams He'll get thrown out for that though.

Joking aside, I firmly believe that anyone who enjoys life and lives it to the full (e.g. Jade Goody perhaps, god knows) is more intelligent than someone like Stephen Fry, whose knowledge leaves him racked with self-doubt because in my opinion - and I know 99.9% of people will (and are perfectly entitled to) disagree with this - intelligence should be a measure of making the most of life, not just whether you know who won the Tour de France in 1959.

I think it was Federico Bahamontes of Spain.
Daggers Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I think it was Federico Bahamontes of Spain. I was going with Terry Wogan, but I think you may be right
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I think it was Federico Bahamontes of Spain. F**king hell. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and you're right. That is incredible knowledge.
Smudge Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Probably the most sensible thing I've read on here for a long time. Fascinating stuff. Thanks guys; being an old git has some advantages, pity it excludes playing in the under/over 21 team..........in fact any bloody team.
lcfc_jme Posted 14 June 2007 Author Posted 14 June 2007 Sorry to bring this back from the third page of the forum, but I'd like to say thanks for all of the comments people have left in here for me. They're all much appreciated, believe me. It's funny really, I always thought insults like that would never really get to me, but for some reason they affected me more than I'd usually allow. Still, you lot helped banish any concerns I have and forced me to erase any lingering doubts that were there. Thankyou.

lcfc_jme Posted 14 June 2007 Author Posted 14 June 2007 Yeah, yeah, blah, blah great. Now reduce your sig size. If everyone else reduces theirs.
lildave3 Posted 14 June 2007 Posted 14 June 2007 Yeah, yeah, blah, blah great. Now reduce your sig size. And snip the away day tour 07/08? Are you mad man?
Katy Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Ah, I wasn't around when this was first posted but I just wanted to add one thing. People can be total bastards and some get their rocks off by belittling people and making them feel shit. Make you're own way in life Jamie and do what is right for you. For every cockend there's more than a few people fighting your corner - just concentrate on them and yourself. Good luck with the 'zams
