davieG Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 They had a chance to get their tickets on monday. That was the fairest way. Not when they'd previously announced the selling process as this: We have an initial allocation of 2000 tickets for this fixture, with a further allocation of 2000 if required. Ticket prices are £16 for adults, £10 for seniors and £4 for under 18's. Tickets go on sale as follows: Monday 20th August - STH Priority 1 Tuesday 21st August - STH Priority 2 Wednesday 22nd August - STH Priority 3 and Members Thursday 23rd August - General sale Fox travel departs from the stadium at 6.00pm. Fox Travel prices are: Adult (season ticket holder) £10, Adult £11, Concession (season ticket holder) £8, Concession Which ever way they explain it they've simply cocked it up for ST holders. As for ballots and priorities they take my name everytime I buy an away ticket, they have my email, they have my phone number(text), they have a computer - strikes me that should be enough to organise something properly or take some action when it goes tits up.
syston_fox Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 So what priority are you,'cause before today i hadn't got a clue what i was! Im priority two because Ive been to a certain amount of away games last season etc. Next time you go into the ticket office, ask for a priority card and then every time you buy tickets for an away game get it stamped and then at the start of next season you can get a higher level priority. Think its 10 away games to get to priority 2 or something like that, and then about 18 to boost it to priority 1. More often than not they forget to stamp your card so just remind them and then away you go
davieG Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 From OS Leicester City today confirmed that a fourth and final allocation of tickets for their eagerly-anticipated Carling Cup second round tie at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday (August 28) had been received overnight. The Foxes' total allocation for the match has now risen to over 5,300 and the club were delighted that all supporters who had placed a request for tickets for the game, prior to 9.30am today (Wednesday) should now receive tickets. A Club spokesman said: "We officially sold out at about 1.30pm yesterday. We continued to take the names of any supporters who missed out on tickets after this time with a Reserve List created and we are pleased that with the co-operation of Forest and the receipt of a final additional allocation, we should now be able to service all those requests. "In addition to all of the personal callers on the reserve list, all e-mail requests, faxes and postal requests received up until 9.30am this morning should also now be successful. "We have a huge backlog of postal, fax and e-mail requests which were received yesterday that we will continue to plough through and we were calling these customers from as early as 7am this morning to process their tickets. "If you have already e-mailed the club, or placed your name on the reserve list, please bear with us, we have received your request for tickets, you are a priority, and we will be processing the orders today." Any ticket requests received after 9.30am this morning will go on to a further reserve list on a first come first served basis and will only be processed if any surplus tickets remain after the backlog of orders has been complete. City have also acknowledged the difficulties in selling arrangements due to the short period of time between the first and second round dates. The spokesman added: "The draw for the second round was made late on Thursday night; prices and fixture arrangements were made on Friday; tickets were then printed and delivered by Forest on Saturday and we were able to go on sale from 9am on Monday. "With the game just eight days later, and a Bank Holiday weekend in between, we had little alternative but to sell as we did. "Thankfully, with the patience and co-operation of our supporters, we have eventually been able to satisfy the vast majority of our supporters over the past 48 hours, something we would like to thank our supporters for. "I doubt very much whether any other club will be taking over 5,000 supporters to a second round Carling Cup fixture. It is yet another magnificent show of the support this club is fortunate to have."
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 I was in the shower the first time they called me and was driving the second time. So annoying!!
adam Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 We don't need a ballot. It's about the first time we've sold anything out for about 5 years. Coventry few seasons back was as big as this and that went ok i think. The ticket office have had one here.
davieG Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 I was in the shower the first time they called me and was driving the second time. So annoying!! I hope you're sorted now! I got a call and ordered my tickets so they should be in the post today hopefully.
foss1884 Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 Coventry few seasons back was as big as this and that went ok i think. The ticket office have had one here. We took 5,300 to Coventry 2 seasons back when we first played at the Ricoh Arena on Easter Monday. The difference between the ticketing arrangements for that game and this, is that those Coventry tickets were sold over a 2 week period as per usual for all League matches and the demand for tickets was spread over those 10 working days. Tickets were also sold on the gate. Leicester have sold the same number for Forest in less than 36 hours and none are available at the ground! I have sympathy with fans and the club. They were caught in a difficult situation and needed to sell the tickets as soon as possible. I think it pays to keep informed for matches of this calibre and monitor sales of tickets. I could not have predicted the demand, but then again, i always underestimate the potential of this club. I think we all do. It is silly to think that supporters base their ticket purchase habits on the belief that we will or will not sell-out an allocation. I was also under the misguided belief that as a Priority 3 season-ticket holder i would only be able to purchase from Wednesday onwards, but i checked the ticket details on the website regularly and decided to get them yesterday due to demand. If i had not of managed to get tickets, i would have only blamed myself.
adam Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 I dont understand why we couldnt sell them all this week. Mon-Wed season tickets Thurs General sale. Im sure we can sort it in a week.

Trumpet Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 No he's not, because you conveniently didn't highlight the "season ticket holder" bit.By "only those who go on the big occasions" I assumed he meant those who go to a couple of matches a season, maybe when we're playing a big team in the cup for instance. The whole of his post was about away matches. He said he has a season ticket, but doesn't go to many away matches. He then said how he feels sorry for fans like DavieG who miss out, because of all the people who decide to go "on the big occasions" (Himself, clearly.)

I've not claimed any divine right to have tickets even as a ST holder and I'll accept missing out if the selling has been handled professionally. My annoyance is that the club made a clear statement that ST holders with no priority and members could get their tickets on Wednesday. I looked and took note, for them to subsequently change it partway through the process was asking for trouble and made the situation worse.

My mate told me its Monday but i said our priority is Wednesday, i gave him my money none the less and he got the tickets. I would have been the same and go down on the Wednesday, to be dissapointed.

That's all right because I'm not arguing with you either, I was just concerned about the guy feeling sorry for people like me, so was just clearing up why I was annoyed. Problem solved hopefully

Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 Well this is frustrating. I bet they call me for the third time while I'm driving home at the end of the day.
stripeyfox Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 Regarding the "Brian Clough Stand" I always wind up the Forest boys down the local by asking them why they named a stand after an alcoholic Derby fan.

NFFC Chris Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 Looking forward to it,let the best team win.Don't expect a goal fest because we are on of the worlds most boring teams!
Ric Flair Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 Quite ironic really, he probably couldn't stand half the time he was alive. I think for his anniverssary of passing, every club should get involved in a moody transfer, perhaps along the lines of a crap Danish style keeper. Back hander, money changing hands a plenty and then get the FA to order an inquest in to it. And the only thing to come from it is an innuendo linking Alec Gilroy, Barry George and Martin Jol together somehow.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 August 2007 Posted 22 August 2007 Another thing about the £4 prices is what on earth are they going to do with a load of 18-year-olds, a lot but not all of whom will be chavvy hooligan types, if they try and refuse them entry? It will be far easier to just let them in and police it all inside.
