inmemoryofdoreen Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 From the Mirror:BILLY Davies is heading for showdown talks with his Derby County bosses this week - and may make an astonishing move to Leicester City. The angry Scot is upset about the way things have turned sour at Pride Park and wants to get to the bottom of reports that club officials have been lining up his replacement. Now Davies could go to the point of no return in the next 48 hours, but he will want a pay-off before he leaves Derby so soon after taking them to the Premiership. But Davies would not be out of work for too long as Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric would put him top of his wanted list if he became available. Advertisement Click here to find out more! Davies, a former Foxes player, was almost lured to Leicester in the summer. No comment. Just passing the message. yesterdays news and derby chairman peter gadsby as denied that theres a problem since as well

Ric Flair Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Rumours that it's Tony Pulis from Stoke. They will be happy, they've wanted him out for a long while.
teblin Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Rumours that it's Tony Pulis from Stoke. They will be happy, they've wanted him out for a long while. Did milan sack him before?
teblin Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Adams would fit the critia that milan mentioned in the interview yesterday. And is in a job.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 I believe so. Yes he did. He was hardly given long either, barely a season if I recall correctly.
teblin Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Yes he did.He was hardly given long either, barely a season if I recall correctly. 10 months i think!
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 10 months i think! , after further investigation it seems your bang on. I put it to you that you looked that up
RowlattsFox Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Rumours that it's Tony Pulis from Stoke. They will be happy, they've wanted him out for a long while. Any idea's why they want him out? They have been better under him than any previous managers. Pulis is not someone who would excite me but we could do worse.

Ric Flair Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Any idea's why they want him out? They have been better under him than any previous managers. Pulis is not someone who would excite me but we could do worse. Due to his negative football and poor handling of transfers.
Thracian Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 10 months i think! Was that with remission for good behaviour?
teblin Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Due to his negative football and poor handling of transfers. sounds like a good choice then
Bert Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Just sack him before the transfer window opens again then.
Ric Flair Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 Just sack him before the transfer window opens again then. I think i'd rather have Micky Adams back than Tony Pulis, that's how mediocre Pulis is. Stoke fans would be rejoiceful if we took Pulis off their hands, like the Blackburn lot were when Newcastle inexplicably took Souness off them.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 September 2007 Posted 11 September 2007 This is the worst new manager search OF ALL TIME. I am so bored of it. I don't even care anymore. I can't see how it's going to be anyone good. The two favourites are both currently employed by our biggest rivals and have done good jobs there while we have achieved nothing for years and appear to have a mentalist in charge.

I must say, i'm still finding it all very funny. This could change quickly though when the new manager is confirmed. Mandaric is 69, surely he doesn't want one of his last business ventures to be a failure. I cannot understand why he hasn't gone Foreign, perhaps he has. I hope so. The amount of proven foreign managers that you see at crap European clubs in the Austrian, Yugoslavian, Sweish etc leagues is frightening. Surely they'd be keen on a stint at a fairly big Championship club, a league that's meant to be fairly strong. Look where the likes of Trappatoni is at the minute, ludicrous.

I HATED the Levein and Kelly years. It was horrible. Yet now we have money we still seem to be getting f**ked over. I didn't mind while we had Allen in charge because it looked like he would motivate the team. If we get someone like Pulis, Megson, Reid or Roeder then I think we could be in serious trouble. I just can't see how we're going to attract anyone decent at the moment. Worrying times. The next three or four games will tell us a hell of a lot, regardless of who the manager is - because our club seems to be ruled by whether the players are up for it or not. Either they carry on where they left off against Watford now that Allen is long gone and Clive Clarke has made a good recovery or turmoil sets in and we head into autumn in the bottom half yet again. I'm in a bad mood.

This is why I was upset to see Allen go! They're aren't any attarctive names being linked with us apart from those that are unattainable. And Pulis, a bit unbelivable really, 1) Mandarics already sacked him once, 2) He signed Ricardo Fuller 3) He hasn't got any of the "proven promotion winning experince" Milans been talking about, Bizzare.
