I never thought of it like that, the Martin Peters of Longbridge

lol

Brilliant,

“Austin Allegro, the Martin Peters of Family Saloonsâ€

If only Michael Edwardes ( or whoever was boss man at BL at the time ) had come up with a slogan like that at it’s launch I think the whole BL Cars history would be a different story .

Instead of VW Beetle and Fiat 500 lookalikes, all the fashionable dudes would be demanding Austin Allegroesque repro cars

Days been ok. Drew 3-3 at football this morning after 2-0 and 3-1 down.

Sorted out the barca trip with a few mates that's taking place in about 3 weeks! And then watched a homeland double bill after a nice burger for dinnet

More of a question/query than a how was my day...

Was driving down St.Peters Road, Highfield end and there's a MASSIVE pothole. My car (a small Daewoo Matiz), hit the pothole and the front left tyre felt like it jolted in the pothole, a big bump and then the battery light on the dashboard came on. Ever since that (2/3 days ago) my car won't start unless I jump start it and then it cuts out at lights unless I give it revs (not ideal). The exhaust is also rattling since that and I was only doing maybe 15/20 mph at the time too as the lights had just changed.

Was wondering, is it possible to charge the Council for damages? Has anybody done it before? Absolutely fuming as I'd just re-done the tracking on the car and looks like that's been knocked out again. Horrendous, I'm sure some of you know which pothole I mean too, outrageous.

You would need to notify the council asap and check that the pothole hasn't been marked up. Once it has, you can't claim.

I’m not sure how a bump in the road could affect the battery light , but it sounds as though your fan belt has either broken or come loose ( maybe the jolt dislodged the alternator )

Best check your fan belt asap .

Your steering alignment and exhaust could very likely be damaged by the pothole and maybe best checked with insurance company and probably best to get a photo of the hole.

It's been an exhausting two weeks, the last week especially.

But very productive.

I've assisted in a television commercial shoot and we've also shot a music video for an up-and-coming artist with our own company over the weekend.
