De Vries Gone Leeds.

Kind words. A big, manly Yorkshire hug for you for your troubles, love.

If you're going to brazenly fire accusations of disabled-ness around with gay abandon, you're always best to make sure you're not surrounded by glass carlessly flinging rocks about the gaff.

The chant which is the focus of both your bemusement and amusement was a "protest chant" cooked up shortly after Leeds being robbed out of winning the 1975 EC final by a corrupt referee on the take. When it's the only trophy you've never won, it sticks in the throat a little not to have completed the set and therefore, the anger is still residual in today's generation as well as those who still remember it all too well.

Henceforth, the chant of "we are the champions, champions of Europe" has become a mainstay in our repertoire and still enjoys a healthy airing nowadays.

Obviously, the choice is still yours to mis-represent fact should you choose to.

Didn't you lose 2-0 though  Then your fans started a riot ? Got kicked out of europe didn't ya ? CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE !!!

:D:D

The racist sentries have found another axe to grind. It's every thread alike these days.

They could see racism in someone selecting a quarter of jelly babies.

Depends on the proportion of black ones...

You do know that the referee was ACTUALLY on the take for that game, don't you? It's not some kind of petty "we woz robbed" bollocks?

It's all very well saying he's not up to it but none of our strikers are top Championship strikers. He's the only one who has posed defences a real physical problem this season. In fact I'd say he's been our best striker in the league so far this season.

As a man with a lot of love for MDV I am perplexed at this.

He's offered us so much more than DJ.

The racist sentries...jelly babies...can't be bothered...read such shit...politically motivated...shameless manipulative hypocrites...Harriet Harman...

I'm amazed.

Quite what this has to do with MDV alludes me but how you managed to write a post that long without mentioning Porter or King once is totally baffling.

And, how you managed to post without a hilarious joke baffles me too.

But De Vries has offered us more than Ddudley.

Ah but doesn't it depend on what you do with them when you put them in your mouth.

Besides don't you count out the different colours evenly? And with witnesses?

Yes it is!

You would not have know that the ref was on the take - if indeed he was - at the time of causing the troubles.

Fair play to you for trying to defend the absolutely pointless song which most of your fans will think is REAL but this is BS.

You have proof the ref was on the take, do you?

Seriously - I don't remember it.

Awww couldn't happened to a nicer club. Still i heard the ref was dodgey but i don't think it ever got proven did it ? Just leeds fans with the same ... We woz robbed bollocks.

Thats shows what hard work and a hunger to play for your club will get you.

I suppose one plus is that it looks like we'll be playing it on the floor from now on.

Don't hold your breath on that last bit.

Disappointed with this decsion.

De Vries has played well, but he's no target man and not a like-for-like replacement for Cort.

I'm not too fussed either way, but to talk of us losing a big-man up front is a bit silly. He's a 5 foot 7 striker trapped in a huge body he doesn't quite entirely control.

Not too fussed to be honest. He's played better lately but he still isn't the man we need to get promoted. Although neither is Carl Cort by the look of things this season. >_>

Utterly bemused by this as I thought he'd looked an effective outlet- certainly far more so than Carl Cort at any rate. I wish the guy luck at an rate. He's given his all this season, and looks to have been made a scapegoat- yet again.

I think the point is he isn't good enough for where we want to be but he is good enough when you consider who we have and where we are currently.

And as such at this point I'm not convinced it was the right decision.

Nevermind the fact that we shouldn't look to do Dennis Wise any favours. It's hard to see the "it's business" side of the argument when you're dealing with a cnut like that.

i'm disappointed by this the prospect of a Fryatt/MdV partnership with Hume just behind was something i was looking forward to seeing and was hopeful of getting after the second half on saturday

I'm looking forward to reading in the papers next week that MDV and weasel Wise have battered each other in a fight during a card game! :D

De Vries would be a Leicester legend forever if he gave Wisey a good battering! lol

Thats a bizzare decision considerin he is arguably our 3rd choice striker right now :dunno: we should of sent Hammond & cort that might have ripped up league one :D hmmm probably not

Very Strange.

I didnt want him in pre-season but he has shown enough this season to feature ahead of the likes of Elvis and Cort. Letting him go when those two are still here is a very poor decision.

True, but remember that the issues between us and W**e happened long before our current chairman took over.

And if he wants to clear some deadwood, and some pretty expensive deadwood at that, why should he bother who takes MDV off his hands?
