Guest Mee-9 Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 Someone on her must of heard of The Maccabees no-one I know has heard of them let alone know's any of there songs. I One of my favourite bands at the minute. If your friends haven't heard of The Maccabees, I suggest you go and trash their Rihanna, Lady Gaga infested music collection. Latchmere's got a wave machine.
StanSP Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 I know it's a sad sad day for the world especially as none of my friends apart from one have heard of Never Shout Never probably my favourite band EVER. :D Think it was around summer 3 years ago I first heard of them. 30days and What Is Love, great tracks.

Narborough_fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Twin Atlantic, Scottish band. Give Free a listen too bit like Biffy but a bit heavier riff's + better in my ears/ eyes.
The Doctor Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 aye twin atlantic are good - slightly better than OR & puzzles biffy but a long way behind the first three biffy albums. Go Radio - the only band to make an Adele song (rolling in the deep) listenable. East Of The Wall - sort of a metal-pop fusion The City Never Sleeps - a definite Gen. Smuts band, indie pop.
Filbert_Ross Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 just come across these, love it.the Horrors meets Karen O
singinpete Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Just listened to Go Radios Adele cover, ITS AWFUL!!
singinpete Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 just come across these, love it. the Horrors meets Karen O Shes like a female Jack White. Reminds me of a Dead Weather track
MC Prussian Posted 7 December 2011 Posted 7 December 2011 If you manage to ignore the outfits, really decent rock:

jonlcfc1990 Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Boston? Kansas? Killswitch Engage Foster the people? Disturbed? creedence clearwater revival? Love these bands but my friends have never heard of music past 2000
General Smuts Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 This a cracking thread to re-read thru. Especially when you find this......Smuts you're now dead to me!!! I'm more dissapointed in Iglu and Hartley.
Stay Positive Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 I'm in a catch 22 situation with this thread, because if I love a band, I'll make sure my friends hear them too. And therefore, there probably AREN'T any bands that I like that nobody else I know has heard of. If you rephrase the thread title to read "Bands You Like That Nobody You Know Had Heard Of Before You Introduced Them To Them", then I guess it'd be: Jetplane Landing The Junket The People's Temple Death (proto-punk band, not the death metal one) Apache Dropout Fire Engines The Monochrome Set Rico (solo Scottish act, not the Specials guy) White Denim The Hold Steady * The last two have become far more well known in recent years, admittedly.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 I'm more dissapointed in Iglu and Hartley. You know it's time
Langston Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I think I've posted him in this thread before - but more people really ought to have heard of Teebs.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Aspyxia wank? Ala Michael Hutchins from INXS
MC Prussian Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 Ghinzu, a Belgium alternative rock group with a Radiohead-esque touch. Just gotten into them, the 2004 album Blow is outstanding.
Raw Dykes Posted 27 February 2012 Posted 27 February 2012 Difficult - I've got a friend or two who I'm sure has heard of most of these, but I doubt most people will have. Pissed Jeans Soil & "Pimp" Sessions Billy Cobham The Samuel Jackson Five David Axelrod A Place to Bury Strangers.
