Monk Posted 31 October 2007 Posted 31 October 2007 Got back about 20 minutes ago.F**k me that was incredible. Totally lost for words. Haven't got a clue about player ratings, tactics, a review of the game, anything. Shit I can't even remember who played. Fantastic support, particularly at the start and throughout the second half. Exhausted, drained, in disbelief that I witnessed another 4-3 defeat, but above all extremely proud. That game will go down in folklore. I didnt have much fun going all the way back to Wimbledon with half of the Chelsea fans. Amazing evening out. I never in a million years thought we'd score 3 goals. And to be fair, conceeding 4 is better than what I expected too. Its just so so sad it ended in tears. We really gave them a run for their money. Would have loved it if Fulop had equalised in injury time. Very very proud to be a Leicester fan. They gave it their all, which to be fair is all you can ask for. We had some spells of very poor positional play and really got caught out in places. But JTB you are right, this is up there in the top 5 all time games I've ever been to. Hope Levi's OK. Looked nasty
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 31 October 2007 Posted 31 October 2007 Yet another Sheehan assist... his set pieces really are important It certaintly seems that way
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 October 2007 Posted 31 October 2007 fooked off more than anything else. Can't be arsed at the minute, obviously proud to have scored three goals at the Bridge but, pffft, what could of been. Just think, we could of won. My main problem is, I'm really, and may I stress, REALLY, pissed off with good, no, outstanding cup performances being followed up by terrible league performances the weekend after. So while I feel happy if not pissed off that we lost, while I feel that we gave a good account of oursevles, I still feel dejected. We've not beaten Chelsea, we're out. No doubt come Saturday we will get battered by Colchester and normal service will be resumed. So what have we gained in the long run? fook all. I like Frank Burrows, theres something about him, but please lets allow time before commiting ourselves viewing him as our next manager. We've had one to many false dawns in the cup to go down that road again. I hope we can build on this result but I have no reason to think we will,. I know the above is probabley sounds a bit stupid after such a good display but I've had a few drink and I'm getting severe De Ja Vous.
Dames Posted 31 October 2007 Posted 31 October 2007 So proud to be a Leicester fan right now. But as Manwell says we will get tanked on Saturday and service will be resumed. Its a great night but i'm desperate we do well in the league.

Not only was I on the tube back to Southfields with the Chelsea fans, I sat in the lower West stand in their midst. Managed not to get killed through the gift of immense self control not leaping the air three times!!! I was sat just about on the halfway line, and I have to say the singing from the City fans was very very impressive. Brilliant atmosphere, respect well earned and so so close. Glad they didn't get what could have been a fifth at the end, would have been harsh. Massive respect to all the fans who came down, you made it an awesome night. Brilliant game, incredible performance, cruel blow at the end. Well done city!
Anish Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Amazing match, superb atmosphere created by the Leicester fans. We gave the players a boost with the noise we made I'm sure. All credit to the players for never giving up and clawing it back from 2-1 down. Chelsea were always dominant throughout and I never felt safe, even after we went 3-2 up. Tactically we were so naive in the last 10 minutes it was untrue. I can safely say that a Gary Megson team wouldn't have thrown it away like that (not that I want him back or even liked his management, but at least we looked assured defensively under him), because we got carried away at 3-2 thinking we could score another one. Both Chelsea's 3rd and 4th goals were from our players pushing far too forward and leaving huge spaces behind them, and Chelsea's counterattacking was aweome. The 3rd goal was from us taking a quick free kick on the half way line (God knows why when we were 3-2 up) and losing it, and the 4th goal was us trying to score another goal and losing possession (we'd have been better off to play for extra time). Anyway, at least we looked decent going forward, and would have done much better with Weso, Clemence and Hume in the team. I was baffled by Kenton's selection and Chambers again was exposed as a defender playing in midfield. One of the best games I've ever been to but still disappointed with the manner in which we lost.
General Smuts Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Great atmosphere tonight, great game, great team performance although i was slightly bemused by the team choice, we had more defenders on the pitch than west ham against covscum. Crazy. But all credit to Kenton tonight, id all but written him off but his, and Chambers in particular's performances were nothing short of brilliant along with the defensive 3 - Mcauley, Ngotty and Kizza. Solid. Man of the match and star of the night and god knows when he got good but - Carl Cort. Absolute brick house he was today won everything in the air and ran ben haim and alex ragged all night. Roll on a defeat in essex on saturday then eh
FilboFox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Leicester! Leicester! Leicester! When was the last time we actually threatened a team like Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal... This has got to be the highlight of the season so far depsite the loss... granted, I was very annoyed that we blew the lead in the dying minutes... it's typical Leicester, but lets put it in context... Chelsea 6-0 Man City... Chelsea 4-3 Leicester. And yes... I have been drinking to wallow in my sorrows of losing when we were soooo close...
Ultra Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Just typing this via blackberry on the train back. It was an incredible game. Only Porter's injury denied us in the end. It was especially sickening their winner came in the time added on for his treatment. It will be tough to raise sprits in time for Saturday but Burrows and Taggs have to find a way. Finally, well done to all the travelling fans. We were AWESOME!
FilboFox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Frank Burrows for manager? 2-0 vs. Barnsley and 3-4 vs. Chelsea... I'm still not sure but he is staking his claim VERY well so far...

Finnegan Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Do you people not LEARN!? "Oh yeah, Rob Kelly, he's doing a wicked job! Let him stay on as manager!" "Oh yeah, Frank Burrows! He's doing a wick...." Fking idiots.

syston_fox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Just got in and im totally drained - talk about going through the mix of emotions in one night. - nervous pre game - shocked by McAuleys goal - disappointed by Lampards double - delight of DJs - ecstatic at Cort's goal - flattened by Shevschenko - heartbroken in injury time - pride at leaving stamford bridge in full voice It's spookily similar to Fulham in january!! In my opinion it was Essien that turned the game. He seemed to create so much space for himself around the edge of the box and really showed his class with his off the ball runs. Sums up the difference in the two clubs when the guy who scored their 3rd cost roughly the same as our entire stadium cost to build..... so so proud!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Just home. Cracking match and the lads did us proud. I thought the Shevchenko "slide" on Levi was the turning point late on as we were starting to get at them down the left. Don't know how bad the injury is but it didn't look good. I thought it was a hatchett job by Sheva. Hope to see it on TV later. Loved DJ's goal. Let's hope there's more to come. Fulop 10/10. City fans 11/10. Awesome. Bloody knackered. Off for me Horlicks and bed.
TheBlinding Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Stunning performance from the lads, the ball just didn't run for us on all 3 of Lampard's goals. The "midfield" didn't stop running, they might not have much quality but Chambers, Newton and Kenton gave it absolutely everything. Loved DJs celebration , hopefully him and Cort can kick on from this performance. And hopefully the lads wil still have enough left for Colchester.

Finnegan Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 We didn't put out performances like this or against Barnsley under Kelly did we!?!Fking idiot... Oh yeah, good point, it was Gobo of Fraggle fooking Rock that managed the Villa game, wasn't it? Jesus Christ. I'm as proud as the next guy following this game. And I'm gutted, truly gutted, I couldn't afford to go. But let's have some bloody perspective and stop being totally sodding retarded.

I am proud and deeply gutted too... but if Burrows CAN KEEP THIS UP, then he is just as valid a candidate, if not more of one than the next person that comes along! Surely you mean the Tottenham and Fulham games? Maybe? I'm not sure as I was in Belgium and trying to be up to date is tough... and to be honest, under Kelly the team just motivated themselves as he certainly didn't do much...
Finnegan Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Sigh. Tottenham was Levein, you ignoramus. Why do I bother?
FilboFox Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Sigh. Tottenham was Levein, you ignoramus. Why do I bother? I can't remember that far back in football when it is so insignificant... I have better things to think about unlike some! Also, Villa was this season... Kelly wasn't there then so what are you talking about? Did we play them last year?
Tevez Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Just got home, gutted but proud tonight. Didn't expect that result and we gave them a run for their millions.
