Lovejoy Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Are pure class like Gary Birtles said you won't see better in the premiership!!!
Bojimha Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Are pure class like Gary Birtles said you won't see better in the premiership!!! yep they were top quality, lets hope he can keep doing that every game because we will get loads of goals against crapper keepers. It says a lot that Kasper Scmeichel was the man of the match
sdb Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 yep he's Steve Guppy all over (set-peice wise) which is fantastic.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Some were blinding, others only looked so good as Schemical isn't the tallest or most commanding. In general the dip and swerve was top notch. It's a shame we didn't create as much from open play.

Yeh I was thinking the same, a ball that close to a commanding keeper would just be caught or dealt with easily, but then when you consider the amount of pace and whip he gets on them, a keeper may think twice about coming for it, no matter what their calibre. He does need to improve on his outswingers though.
stix Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Quoting commentators on things like this is lame Are you serious?! Sheehan made ONE bad cross tonight. and that was because birtles cursed it before he crossed it. Sheehan was top drawer tonight and as far as effort goes every leicester player that stepped foot on that pitch in the 2nd half have my full respect. A few more sessions with ollie and the finishing wil get better too. Our defending was good except for one or two moments and abit of tweaking here and there could and should sort those out. We win our game in hand and we are 2 points off the play offs, on saturdays and tonights performance i for one am certainly happy at the minute!!!!!! BLUES! BLUES! BLUES!

He cross in the first half was a bit shit (the one that got headed on followed by a scramble followed by the great Richard Stearman missing for point black) unless he ment to do that which I heavily doubt.

I thought that was good. Whipped low at pace, and it caused the defence some serious problems. If he meant it it was top draw.

At which point did I say anything about Sheehan? Hmmm...?? Exactly. I thought he played very well as matter of fact. All i said is that people who watch Sky games and come here quoting them word for word are lame.
Cheese Me Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 yep he's Steve Guppy all over (set-peice wise) which is fantastic. Indeed. We've missed a good set piece player since Izzet left. On days ike this he justifies his place in the team on that alone.

I think we may have got off on the wrong foot....few beers etc etc etc.......US against THEM!!!! lets get that pilgrim CNUT off here!!!! BLUES! BLUES! BLUES!
Bryn Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I think to merely focus on his set pieces is to ignore his good deliveries from open play.
TheBlinding Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I don't understand we don't just let Sheehan take every set piece in their half and stick McAuley and Kisnorbo up. We look so dangerous from them. And what were Shaun Newton and Johnny Hayes going anywhere near them for? A couple of times he didnt beat the 1st man and a few were too close to the keeper but in general they were pretty execptional.
Swedging Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I thought that was good. Whipped low at pace, and it caused the defence some serious problems. If he meant it it was top draw. Clearly intended. Hume ran out to meet it.
mancfox Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I have been desperately waiting for the day when we get a set piece taker who is the quality of Izzet, Parker and Guppy. Judging by the season so far i think we may have one. A sweet left foot is a precious commodity and he is only 21! Plenty more time to develop.
Milky Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 They're pretty much all we've got at the moment. Why did they let Newton, Hayes and Hume take some of the set pieces tonight? Wasted the chance to let Sheehan whip it in.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I thought that was good. Whipped low at pace, and it caused the defence some serious problems. If he meant it it was top draw. If he ment to do it I hold my hands up but normally balls hit that low and that hard don't beat the first man.

Wasted the chance to let Sheehan whip it in. It was on the other side, he did stick a couple shabby ones in from the left, after which he didn't seem to take anymore. Although I agree I think inswing or out when he gets it right they'll trouble anyone.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Granted his set piece delivery can be special. However, at times his defending is woeful. He got caught out again in the 2nd half and ended up getting booked, that little lack of awareness plays quite a bit in his game and happens quite often. He is no great left back and he is certainly not a left winger either which makes me think even with his set piece delivery he wont last long (which is a shame) and is most likely a stop gap until replaced in January with Tony Capaldi or someone similar...
Master Fox Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 I think we may have got off on the wrong foot....few beers etc etc etc.......US against THEM!!!! lets get that pilgrim CNUT off here!!!! BLUES! BLUES! BLUES! yeah maybe.
Simi Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Some great balls not just from set pieces but from the left back position into the strikers, just a shame they couldn't control them else we'd of been a lot better off.
Mikey Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 Great balls it's just a pity we didn't have someone like DJ who is just in the tight place when the ball is bobbling around the boz to poach it in.
