Can Hatton cut it with Mayweather?

£14.95. Bit much for a fight which doesn't start until 3am Sunday morning.

Hatton's best chance is in the early rounds. If it goes on longer there's a danger that Mayweather will cut him up and win on a stoppage.

Thats cheap his last fight on box office was about £20, Im not complainig though cos i usually pay each month fof WWE events

My heart says Hatton will win on points but my head says Mayweather will wear Hatton down and win on points

You have got to love Mayweather aswell how a man can be so cocky is amazing

I know hardly anything about boxing, so I have no reason to study form or ability.

So it's gotta be Hatton for me :P

Same.

All i know is that their both unbeaten and in that many fights that's impressive.

Hopefully Hatton can kick shit out of Mayweather, He deserves a good kick in (I know it's boxing...Hence punch but just but a couple of boots in while your at it )

It's my work's christmas do this Saturday so liklyhood is i'll be pissed and end up falling asleep before it starts though...Although my mate who's lets say been banned from town for having a little boxing match against someone is planning to order it so might see if I can go round his after the works do.

My other option is to control myself, don't get to pissed, try and stay up till it starts and order is when I get home...that'll be a decision i'll make on the night though.

How can you moan about the cost? £15 for the biggest fight for years. It's not like pay per view has quietly come up behind you and applied a shovel to the back of your head. And it's a good excuse to stay up all night drinking with friends, thus spreading said cost over a number of people.

I'm well excited about this fight, even though I think Mayweather will win.

Mayweather will want it over quickly - Hatton has more heart and more stamina.

Additionally, Hatton tends to get early shots in to the body, which are going to slow Mayweather down (if Hatton can land enough of them).

If Hatton can keep out of trouble till about round 4, I reckon he'll win it.

He'll be susceptible early on though because Mayweather is seriously quick round the ring early on and as has been said, he's as far from one dimensional as you can get.

Having said all that - not only do I think it will go to points, I also think it will be very close.

Would love to see Hatton do it, but he's never been tested like this before, Mayweather has fought better opponents (than Hatton has) in his time and seen them off, no worries.

Hatton on points for me...

Mayweather is a good boxer but i really think he thinks he will walk this... and thats not a good way to prepare for any battle!

Im hoping Mayweather has lost his edge. I know RH has been taking the mick with this Dancing with the Stars thing that FM has been on and apparently he has had alot of TV time and may have lost that focus. Its probably more wishful thinking but I think RH can raise his game against the better fighters.

Can't wait for this fight. I really can't predict which way it will go but I do think it will go the distance and come down to a decision. I agree with TPH that if Hatton can get his bodyshots in and slow Mayweather down he has a chance. He will be prepared for that though which will make it much harder for Hatton to land them.

Mayweather hasn't really been himself in the run up to this fight and I'm not sure if thats because he underestimates Hatton or if he regrets some of the stuff he said about De Le Hoya. He also has brittle hands and the media have reported that he currently has a hand injury though Mayweather's camp have denied it.

It will also be interesting to see how the Americans react if Hatton does win. They are convinced that Hatton isn't a good fighter and doesn't have much about him and even when he has won big fights they claim that its because its opponents were over the hill. Personally I think Hatton's got an interesting style in that he is quite unorthodox and his punches often come from unusual angles. It will be interesting to see if the yanks warm to him if he gets the win over Floyd.

I agree with some of your points!! I spoke to my mate today and he's boxer and reckons Mayweather is not 100% and maybe carrying an injury!! According to him, he watched a clip of Mayweather sparring and wasn't punching right!!!

Hatton will win and maybe impressively!!!

Yeaaahhh I'm a fan of Saturday.

1. Leicester vs West Brom- Whether this is a thing to look forward is yet to be seen.

2. Then round mates for some pokera at night.

3. Hatton fight.

So Football + Poker + Mates + Boxing = :)

Last night I was speaking to a friend of mine who has an uncanny knack of winning money, betting on sport. He said likewise as some others have, Mayweather has problems with one of his hands and is not 100%.

If this actually is true, I seriously fancy Hatton for this.

I just wish I could watch it.

The rumours about his hands have been doing the rounds for the last few days. At one point there was even talk of the fight being called off. While that's bollocks the possibility that Mayweather has weak hands is real.

Combined with Hatton's dominance in press conferences (apparently on the way out of the conference yesterday he whispered into his father's ear "I've got the f**ker") I really think this may affect Mayweather's mental state.

Yes he's been there before and won. Yes opponents have claimed to be the one to dethrone him. But this feels different. Hatton has got to him I think. The British sense of irony and humour may not matter much in the ring but Mayweather has been ridiculed and outwitted throughout the build up.

Yesterday I was thinking Mayweather would win but the more I read and the more I think about it I'm reckoning Hatton could just do it. Cuts are critical. If he can avoid them while upping the intensity in the opening rounds and getting the body shots in it's his for the taking.

Hopkins also made a decent point. Las Vegas and the judges reward aggression not necessarily who throws the stronger punches. This would suit Hatton if it went the distance.

Bang on.

Mayweather will be going out all guns early on to cut him.
