Ollie Interview on BBC

Thats the interview I was on about.

What he's basically saying is "I'm trying to get through to January with these bunch of useless ****ers, and then I'll buy some quality players and raid my former club Plymouth Argyle because the chairman over there was being such a complete tit".

6 or 7 games this month and they look to be tough games as well. Don't know how many points we'll be getting from them but I'm hoping we can stay in touch with the top half.

Holloway is a manager that we have needed for a long time and I can't wait for January!

Martin Allen sounded just the same at Kilworth Springs.

That sounds cynical but I actually believe Ian Holloway has the personal qualities to do an outstanding job at Leicester providing he has the nerve because virtually anything he does for the good will boost confidence and any success will represent progress in modern times.

I'll even be trying to encourage him but NOT if he pulls that Burnley stunt again.

Are you saying if he pulls that "Burnley stunt" again then you'll not encourage him and be supportive of him?

Fair comment though - the players don't know whether they're in or out at the moment. What he has said he will give them is the opportunity to show what they've got, despite being unfavoured or left on the sidelines in recent months. And if you are a player who's been given a bit of a bollocking recently then you'd be happy to hear that.

Watching that has given me a massive confidence boost. I beginning to really like the guy, he talks a lot of sense and has made me slightly more comfortable about the cash i have just shelled out to see the game on Sat.

I will never condone the sort of football which destroys the game as a spectacle.

If football were played behind closed doors it wouldn't matter.

But professional football is a commercial game and massive stadia are there for the simple purpose of presenting football as entertainment for paying fans.

Managers and chairmen have a responsibility for what they put before those fans in terms of footballing enterprise and if they choose to ignore that responsibility they get what they deserve.

There will always be times when it's tempting to be cautious for various reasons. But to field nine defenders in a game which the authorities are desperate to keep attractive is denying the spirit of the whole exercise.

Others may accept it. They may even justify it in various ways. But I never will.

To me going out with the intention of killing the game is just putting two fingers up at the public.

I never played like that, never managed like that, never coached like that and will never utter one word to excuse such negativity.

Are you happy with your manager making comments like this?

I wasn't happy with him leaving the way he did but have come to accept it and move on now but this is a whole new low from Ollie. These comments are not needed and border tapping up. I would love it if Argyle reported this to the FA. It just sums up what a hypocrite Ollie is because when he was down here and a manager made a comment about being interested in one of OUR players (and they are ours not OLLIES as he tries to make out in the interview) he would go nuts and critisise that particular manager for his actions through the media. Now see through your blue tinted and glasses and tell me does that make you proud he is your manager?

Also comments about our chairman and new manager Paul Sturrock are completly unprofessional. Paul Stapleton isn't the most popular figure at Argyle sometimes due to a lack of investment in the team but he did nothing wrong when handling Ollie resignation especially considering Ollie comments made every think he would'nt want to leave the club.

Now I personally don't have a problem with your club or fans so don't come back with stop moaning etc. Even you must recognise this is plain wrong what Ollie is saying.

What comments EXACTLY are we supposed to not like from Ollie?

Who has he sid he is going to sign, which borders on tapping up??

I though Ollie only had praise for your Chairman and the fans at Plymouth when he left you lot so what are you going on about regarding comments about him?

Have you watched the interview linked to in the first post of this topic Raj?

He says he is going to try and sign every player he signed for Argyle because he is not happy with how our chairman handled him leaving. Now I know that is slightly tongue in cheek but it is a very sinister tactic to unsettle our squad here and then to go on and mention that he dosen't think they are getting paid enough here aswell. It is very spiteful and totally unprofessional.

Hey it's not so bad mate. OK we'll probs be getting Norris, Halmosi, Ebanks-Blake etc, but im sure Holloway would send you Cort and Newton as an exhange or something.

On using defenders in midfield

'It's all very well having a great pianist playing but it's no good if you haven't got anyone to get the piano on the stage in the first place, otherwise the pianist would be standing there with no bloody piano to play'

Your thoughts Thrac????
