Hatton v Mayweather Fight Thread

We all knew if it went the distance and was decided on point Mayweather was going to win but the points when the fight finished were;

Two scored as 89 - 81 - Favouring Mayweather.

One scored as 88 - 82 - Favouring Mayweather.

Stayed up to watch it and thought Mayweather played the matador right against Hatton the bull, he knew Hatton would come for him and trusted his agility and speed to the punch, much like Naseem Hamed used to be good at and caught Hatton good and proper, the cut early on possibly affected Hattons accuracy of the punch I thought along with one of the worst ref's ive ever seen, why didn't he dock a point off Mayweather for constantly grabbing Hatton? Never let the fight flow and showed a bias towards Mayweather I felt. Fair play to Mayweather after, didn't like him at all pre-fight but he showed great respect to not only Hatton but to the fans who have booed him and tried to gain the phsycological edge in Hattons favour, fair play to the bloke, a true champion.

I know he lost but i'm still tempted by Hatton to win Sports Personality odds have dropped to 7/1 now, It's voted for on the night, People still have got alot of support and after the courage he shown could see him being voted for tonight.

Great fight i thought, Mayweather was a different class really. He made Hatton look amateur at times with his speed and dodging ability, theres no point in going on about all the bias the ref showed, Hatton was beat by the better boxer and i didnt really think there was a great deal of bias shown as is being said.

No. Hamilton will walk it without a doubt.

The referee was frustrating but the result would have been the same regardless. Mayweather is a better boxer, Hatton couldn't get near him and he was outclassed pretty much from start to finish.

Found it quite funny that the American national anthem got booed. Good old Brits abroad, representing our country well.

The referee wasn't at fault or bias.

The point dock was justified because of the way Mayweather was bent over the ropes Hatton when he should have stood off kept attacking the point dock was to remind him to keep his cool. He also tried his best to keep the fight clean by seperating them because they kept getting in close hugging each other and trying to get the odd sly shot in they even admitted it themselfs after the fight.

Mayweather beat Hatton at his own game and in usual English fashion Hatton had no plan B, Plenty of heart but nothing else.

That said both were brilliant after the fight, If Hatton keeps on fighting then he must take a leaf out of Mayweathers book and keep his body in check all year round then maybe he might just beat De La Hoya if he still fights him next year.

Happened to wake up for the last round to listen on radio 5.

Just gotta remember that Hatton has lost to a legend.

One of THE all time greats.

Hatton can come back from this,as he is still up there as one of the best around.

Im sure there will be a good few fights for him.

Did anyone watch the under card? Was boring but one of the ref's got hit. Haha.

Cant belive it me and ma mates were watching it, first round i thought for a second Hatton was going ro knock him out but how naieve can you be. :whistle:

All in all im gonna say that the best fighter won, he showed more class and got the hits when it counted.

£15 down the drain :cry:

Well, what a shame. Hatton was outboxed, outfought and outclassed.

Mayweather was the better boxer, he was tactically far too good for Hatton, it seemed like every time Mayweather threw a punch, it landed. Hatton was far too 'gung-ho' as he said himself. Mayweather was so quick aswel.

I think we all realise why Mayweather was so arrogant - you can be what you want when you're as good as him.
