davieG Posted 14 December 2007 Posted 14 December 2007 Well i was going to defend Agyemang, but looking at his scoring record, it is appalling. Average is about 6 or 7 goals a season playing most games. That is about as bad as Elvis' record.Saying that though, lets not forget he has been a fulcrum of a side that has got into the play-offs 2 seasons running, he clearly has other qualities rather than just scoring goals. Even less excuse for the low goal count and we already have 5 so called strikers that have 'other qualities' than just scoring goals.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 As if Barry Hayles wasnt bad enough we now get linked with Agyemang Yes definitely don't want Hayles
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Dear God, really thought all this talk of building a quality side and having MM's money to spend in January, would actually mean good quality players for once. WHy does everyone bang on about Milan and his dosh, if we never actually get to spend it! I mean why aren't we signing players like Wolves or WBA would sign. I'm really starting to worry that all this talk of MM and his millions taken Leicester back to the Prem is actually a myth! If Jan passes by and we make signings like Barry Hayles and Agyemang, I will begin losing faith in even a 3 year plan! Where's the cash Milan and where is the quality Ollie????? I really thought Clemence would have been one of those players as well as Kishishev; although N'Gotty has been quite good. We need a quality midfielder in the mold of Richard Chaplow at WBA.... some teams seem to sign players from the Big Four Reserves like Sidwell (when he signed for Reading) and even this guy Chaplow, and they prove good !! If we're not doing already, it wouldn't hurt us to scout the reserves of these teams for players of their calibre... although I admit in the end that Ryan Smith didn't really work \

But we are not. We have to be realistic.

But we are not. We have to be realistic. Yeh but even in the summer when were all on 0 points, why didn't we buy better then. I thought we would be after players like Billy Sharp. Alot of blame lies with Martin Allen maybe for signing these, so then i thought this Jan, finally a manager who knows what he's doing, got money to spend, we will see some quality for the future, but we seemed to AGAIN be linked with signing players that clubs like Wolves, WBA, Charlton and Watford, wouldn't even have in their reserves. I know it's early yet but if some of these rumours our true and players like Hayles and Agyemang are as good as wer guna get in Jan, then god help us! Not like we can sign these players just until end of season, these will be at least 2 year contracts!!!

davieG Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Agyemang is the type of striker we need, not sure he is the one we need though. One that hardly ever scores, we've got loads of them already why would we want another!
Fox92 Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Leicester are lining up a bid for patrick Agyemang Link: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_2969730,00.html
Guest Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 already a thread about it in the transfer talk section
Stinkenzo Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I honestly didnt think he would have been a bad signing if he did make the move here. He's scored 7 goals in 5 appearences for QPR now.
Mark Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I honestly didnt think he would have been a bad signing if he did make the move here. He's scored 7 goals in 5 appearences for QPR now. He wouldn't have scored with that rate here, our team doesn't have the right mentality or style of play to win matches and supply strikers with chances
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I don't actually think Patrick Ageymang is that bad, and anyone who has played FM with me can back that up .
Father Ted Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 7 goals in 6 games and definitely a better player than Hayles.
Simi Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 7 goals in 6 games and definitely a better player than Hayles. Even if he is. It's no use saying "Why couldn't we sign him" We could say that about so many players, it's not worth it.

Look, I don't want to start an argument but my comment was meant to have been sarcastic as I would rather have had him than Hayles and just showing our luck when teams are buying crap players and they are banging goals in but we can't score any at the moment.

acooling08 Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 it doesn't matter which striker you have got up front. howard, hume, fryatt, dj, hayles, have all got the quality to score its just that with leicester nothing is created for them or if it is only rarely. Against plymouth name a tantalising cross or a great run, or a greatly placed high ball or a quick into feet pass froma midfielder to give our strikers the chance to put the ball away.
