Smudge Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Colchester beating Charlton 0-2, Wednesday go to bottom
Cobbo Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I would have never players 3.5 defenders across midfield in the first place as I said before the kick-off. But I wouldn't hesitate to put the matter right. What early use is Chambers going to be at left-back? CHambers is a better player than Mattock and Sheehan at this moment in time anyway. Holloway wants to put things right by playing wingers and midfielders in the midfield, but can't sign everyone he wants to do this on 1st January!
davieG Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 We need to sort this out. It says something when we've actually started playing N'Gotty in Midfield. Is Clemance actually playing? Is anyone playing would be my question!
Joe. Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Doesn't really sound as though we're actually playing as bad as the scoreline may suggest. Still no excuses and it's not good enough.
Bluemoon Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Yes, he's in there as a waste of space. I relly don't understand what shape we are playing!!
davieG Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 2-0 What's Going On?!?! It's Stearman he's useless
Sly Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Is anyone playing would be my question! I didn't want to be that harsh.
StearmanFanLcfc Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 It's Stearman he's useless No No No. It Isn't. It's Paul Henderson.
Thracian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I relly don't understand what shape we are playing!! It doesn't matter much. At least there's been no report of any hesitancy this week!
Jonezy Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Why o why do I always get my hopes up for this club.... Its not worth it!!!

Thracian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 CHambers is a better player than Mattock and Sheehan at this moment in time anyway.Holloway wants to put things right by playing wingers and midfielders in the midfield, but can't sign everyone he wants to do this on 1st January! It is not a matter of who's the better player, it is a matter of balancing what different players bring to the team. James Chambers hasn't scored or made one single goal since he's been here. I am sick of hearing what we're going to do tomorrow. We sent our best winger to Bournemouth in August! We leave our most creative midfielder, Andy King, out in the cold and instead we play two essentially defensive players. It's not as we haven't done that in the past and paid the penalty. You cannot start with two potential attackers plus two halves and expect to win a Championship football match other than by a fortunate smash and grab. Such tactics only mean the opposition can commit more players to attack. As we might have already gathered from the visit to Burnley.
Hullfox Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Things can only get better in the 2nd half.....cant they? Of course they can but we need to take off 3.5 defenders and replace them with 2 attacking midfielders and 1.5 strikers. Then by reshuffling the pack we should adopt a formation of 3.75 - 4.10 - 2.15. I really can't understand why we are not utilising the talents of Sheehan and making the most of his average of 0.6 assists and 0.83 completed passes every 152 seconds. It's like listening to a Rob Kelly team in action at Burnley. Pah.
