Bryn Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Excited about todays game, but I won't be demanding victory over an upcoming QPR side. Looking for a good performance today, and as long as we get that I hope the fans don't get too restless, these things take time.
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Give me a W!!! Give me an I!! Give me an N!!! 3-1 City or am I being too optimistic?
Mark Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Henderson Stearman Kisnorbo McAuley Mattock Chambers N'Gotty Clemence Hume Hayles Fryatt Howard on the bench.
Manager Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Team Henderson, Chambers, Kisnorbo, n'Gotty, McCauley, Clemence, Hume, Fryatt, Stearman, Mattock, Hayles, Subs Wesolowski, Hayes, Sheehan, Kenton, Howard
Master Fox Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Interesting team selection, I'll go for a 5-0 win for QPR
brookfox Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 How do pople see that midfield lining up? Flat 4 with Hume and Chambers on the wings or a diamond a la... N'Gotty Chambers Clemence Hume
Lillehamring Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 How do pople see that midfield lining up? Flat 4 with Hume and Chambers on the wings or a diamond a la... N'Gotty Chambers Clemence Hume he's used it as a diamond every other time i think....
The Reverend Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Interesting team selection,I'll go for a 5-0 win for QPR lol Interesting, to be honest i didnt think Howard would play, 2 games in 3 days is a lot. Not worth risking injury, especially when you've just forked out 1.5 million, and have such weak back up.
Father Ted Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 HendersonStearman Kisnorbo McAuley Mattock Chambers N'Gotty Clemence Hume Hayles Fryatt Howard on the bench. To be honest, Wesolowski should be starting instead of N'gotty. And Howard should be playing instead of Hayles.
Thracian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 HendersonStearman Kisnorbo McAuley Mattock Chambers N'Gotty Clemence Hume Hayles Fryatt Howard on the bench. Holloway talks about round pegs in round holes and plays Hume in left-midfield and a defender wide right midfield. Hume isn't a crosser of the ball so nothing changes. With Howard on the bench it's possible Sheehan will come on to provide crosses later but I have my doubts. We're going for a hussle. Close em down and try to pinch one. Even Holloway talks about seeing if we can try to "hang on to a lead". It's not in modern managerial mentality to talk of building on a lead. Makings of 1-1 though. We scored first there last season but then went back into our shells, conceded the space and ended up drawing.
Flynny Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 How do pople see that midfield lining up? Flat 4 with Hume and Chambers on the wings or a diamond a la... N'Gotty Chambers Clemence Hume It's normally starts out like --------------NGotty Chambers--------------Clemence - Hume Hume works the left-hand channel, and as he comes into the centre it goes to something like Chambers - N'Gotty - Clemence -------------------Hume----------- In terms of responsibility its a diamond, but it never really looks like one particularly.

Hume can cross a little bit, though not from the left if thats where he plays. Chambers isn't a good crosser but does look effective going forward and allows Stearman to look to get forward more.

It's just an example of yet another manager seeking to occupy our "best" players when their regular positions have been taken. And he wants to use Hume because he represents yet another hussler, another player who closes people down quickly. Effectively we're starting with eight and a half defenders. Just like Kelly really. I've no worries that we'll compete and make things hard for QPR but if QPR score first we'll be hard pressed to get two.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 c'mon Leicester!!! Big Bazzas gonna bag a brace...
lee7 Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 To be honest, Wesolowski should be starting instead of N'gotty. And Howard should be playing instead of Hayles. howard would have been boll*xed by half time if he had started 2 games in 3 days thats a lot for him.
Filberts lovechild Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 No Fulop today, have to say I'm a little bit worried about how many goals we are going to ship with Hendo in. He's been our worst keeper since Rab or Conrad Hoping the new boys play a part though. 2-2 IMO
Thracian Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 howard would have been boll*xed by half time if he had started 2 games in 3 days thats a lot for him. Very encouraging. But you're right.
