I'm in love.

This midfield looks complete, and it ran the show today. Zsolt, Bori and Oakley all had great debuts and if they keep playing like that we'll be moving up the table in no time.

Clemence looks much better with better players playing around him and I hope this continues.

Great performance and a well deserved result.

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT i just got back from the game and i have not felt that pleased for ages we looked solid in the middle and creative going forward ,from chances created if we start banging them in we are going to start really hurting teams at last it feels good to be a leicester fan on a saturday night well done lads :D:D

Just got back and even though we played brilliantly and we won 2-0 im still pissed off at Stearman. What the fook was he doing leaving that ball for Alnwick. Twat.

Anyways so many more hungarian shaped positives and in Oakley we have a fooking quality player. Roll on Wembley

What a difference a midfield can make............who'd a thunk it?

Well said

Really enjoyed the game today, some really positive football.

The whole of the team deserves a :scarf::worship:

Attendance: 23,905.

Leicester City 2 - 0 Coventry City

Goal Attempts 22 : 6 Goal Attempts

On Target 13 : 3 On Target

Crosses 26 : 10 Crosses

% Possession 56 : 44 Possession %

That makes great reading. What a difference having two wingers actually makes.

One thing that did improve today was the way we retained the ball, which is an improvement from past performances. At times when we needed to hold possession we did and did it well.

Fully enjoyable game!

Most enjoyable game since the win against Watford, good atmosphere.

I see people are still slagging off Stearman, oh well people need something to moan about.

That was better. :)

Oakley and Clem worked very well together, the wingers did great work... at times we looked a little fragile at the back though and we should have made more of our chances, but a good game and it was so encouraging to see what real attackers like Oakley and the Hungarians can do for a team... all in all good stuff. No need to get too excited though, it was CovScum at Home, with any luck we can improve on this and get a run together... nearly forgotten what it felt like to walk away from a game feeling Leicester had played well :)

And now I'm back at the Uni library "revising"...

good win! sounds like we actually have a midfield now, great to hear about us actually making crosses into the the penalty area from the wings!

omg, no oooofing, we have a midfield! Clem great, howard great, hungarians great. the long haired one flagged in the second half, but great!

Very enjoyable game today. Was impressed with the midfield. The two Hungarians did well, especially Zsolt and hopefully they can settle in nicely. The stats tells its own story, we were far better than Coventry and first half it coulda been 3 or 4-0.

Matt Oakley was very impressive as well and Clemence looked like he benefited well from having good players around him. Fair play to Ollie, he recognized what the problem was and he's done something about it. Hopefully we can go on and improve even more.

Don't wanna sound negative on such a beautiful day, but Stearman annoyed the hell out of me with his hoofing. Really pissed me off at times.

Reasons to be cheerful are........endless.

Everyone knew what a good signing Matt Oakley was and how he showed it.

Oakley was the catalyst for a brave new dawn.

You could talk about him all night but twice in particular he won possession, saw nothing on in front of him, but instead of hoofing the ball hopefully into nowhere or passing the buck pointlessly he turned, waited for support and then launched an attack.

He was always available to make life easier for others, he gave Clemence the option and confidence to get forward, he supported attacks himself and he moved the ball in all directions.

Laczko wasn't far behind.

Proper winger. Stayed wide and gave us space. Controlled the ball quickly, balanced his variety of passes, generally moved the ball on quickly but still took lots of opportunities to take people on. Had his share of shots, got crosses in and stayed on the move making him difficult to mark without costing us shape.

As a bonus he showed himself able to win a few headers and strong enough/brave enough for English football. I don't think it was a one off. He looked like a proper player to me, someone who knew the requirements of his position and had the ability to deliver.

How the midfield benefitted from having a range of options. Clemence had by far his best game to date because there were passes to either side of him and targets to the front. Suddenly he looked like a guy who was enjoying his football again.

Hume relished being back up front and had lots of shots, Howard got the goal you also hope for from a genuine target man, Bori slipped in quite well and showed that he too is nothing like the duffers we have employed in the right wing position.

How good he'll prove I don't know. But he maintained the width, made himself available, delivered decent crosses, linked the play and had a shot or two. Perfectly decent debuit and I'm encouraged.

Suddenly we looked like we had a balanced football team again with a bit of pace and energy who looked as if they could take on most if not all teams in this division and certainly offered something to build on.

Da da-da-da, da-da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da, da.....

We should have scored more than that, Hayles' was a gift - but we well deserved that.

Absolutely brilliant. WHAT a difference Oakes and some wingers make. Brilliant. Roll on next week!

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Norwich and I genuinely think we'll win there too.

Wow I'm getting ahead of myself now.

I couldn't tell because of where I was sitting, but either we played an awesome offside trap today (we were playing a high back line), or their forwards were clueless!

Leon Best is a bit of a donkey anyway so its probably a bit of both. Their entire foward line was kept quite today especially Michael Mifsud and Leon Best. Dele Adebola looked to me that he at least tried.

Awesome, Played well, and I think we are slowly turning the corner (Including a couple of games before the last 1/2 games where we played well, although the teams are different from those games and now).

The Hungarian's look amazing, hope they keep it up, Stevie Howard :worship:

All I will say is though if the Stearman rumour to Villa is true, Rip Villa's hand off for the million pounds, we'd be having their pants down (Maybe even suggest Villa pay us less and throw Isiah Osbourne in on the deal - Not seen that Osbourne play but seems to have been reviewed well). As you can guess my view of Stearman is that he was awful again today, but everyone else - Not a bad word to say about them.

This is what we want City, Please keep it up, and I just hope it's not another case of more false hope.

Great game today!

Its been a while since we've seen a game like that down at the Walkers!

The two Hungarian's looked great, especially Laskzo (sp?), Oakley looked a different class, Hume played his socks off and Well done to Howard and Hales for the goals!!!

Could it be the start of something great down at City!!! Lets hope so!!

****ing fantastic. All of the new boys look awesome. Oakley looks so comfortable on the ball and also seems to bring the best out of Clemence. Laczko and Bori both look very promising, Howard took his goal very well and Big Fat Barry looked decent when he came on. Alnwick wasn't tested, but his kicking looks good, if not a little too good.

But yeah, amazing transformation. Just shows how much difference a good midfield makes.

Oh, and just to make it better, it was against Coventry.

:D :D :D :D :D

Flippin typical, I missed the Ipswich game and I missed this ! , I should stay away, I obviously bring bad luck

First home game i've missed for a long time aswell. Gutted. Even more so considering i'm in the process of completely fooking up the 3rd year of my degree, and i mean fooking up as in failing them all and being chucked off.

Perhaps i could get a job working for Lackzo!

You didn't see the Hungarian flair on show :o

God I can't keep going on about them...

and what is more, this is before they#ve become acclimatised, reached full match fitness or got to know the style, habits and movement of their team mates, same with oakley (tho he should know howard, pretty well...)

as i said elsewhere, IH seems to have picked players that form a whole, that each have a specific place and use, that compliment each other - having the two hungarians start together, given their matching positions is genius, totally takes the pressure off them as individuals, creates this double act feeling...

also, i think taking LZ off, allowing him to get his standing ovation was another astute bit of management, will boost his confidence as well as that of the team.
