Unabomber Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 so as clems out does that mean osbourne to start? I think so yeah that is certainly what Ollie is hinting at. Good news about DJ too though.
WetFlannel Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Laczko trained today. Thank the lord... It will be interesting to see whether he can be consistent enough to become a great player
Thracian Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 so as clems out does that mean osbourne to start? Clemence not fit again - I thought it was the kids were injury prone but he's always going lame! Weso's the obvious replacement assuming he's fit which is not guaranteed because when has he been able to play? I cannot imagine King would be fit either - he's had no games. We seem to keep doing that at Leicester - having players short of match practice. It happened last year too. Ridiculous. In fact, King has barely been fully match fit all season what with sub appearances, injury, international breaks etc. This week's reserves game, which might have suited him, was cancelled. As for Osbourne, how the hell does he have "more pedigree" than Weso? Yes he played in the Premiership but he's played just 13 matches for Villa since 2006. Thirteen matches! Otherwise he's simply down as a former England Under 16 representative. He should be okay but I've no idea if he's fit or better than Weso/King. And he will hardly have spent any time with the squad. So just when we need a bit of momentum we've got an anticipatable problem but no ideal solution. Perhaps we should bring in an expert in thinking ahead.
Bryn Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Taking the scenario that both Clemence and Laczko are out, in addition to Kisnorbo, I'd still try to keep the team as similar to last Saturday as possible. I'd go with whomever is fittest out of Wesolowski, King and Osbourne, N'Gotty in for Kisnorbo and maybe give Mattock a spin at left wing, with Sheehan at left back. If not that, the other way around. Alnwick Stearman McAuley N'Gotty SheehanBori Oakley WesoKingBourne MattockHume HowardSubs; Henderson, Chambers, a central midfielder, Campbell, Hayles

Bryn Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Another possibly scenario could be that Hume to be pushed to the right (he must be fed up with by now), Bori on the left and Dudley or Fryatt comes in to partner Howard. Aye I considered that but I'd really like to give Hume a settled partnership for a while to see how he does.
SPF07 Posted 17 January 2008 Posted 17 January 2008 Does anyone have any ideas to the expectant away following? or of any decent pubs near the ground? Also he could just play chambers on the right leaving hume up top? although his interview does suggest he may play wide with dj upfront
Candidcamera Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Shows we need another signing for the midfield. Weso is a good replacement but injury prone and most likely to need games under his belt.
teblin Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Clemence not fit again - I thought it was the kids were injury prone but he's always going lame! He's start 21 of out league games. Anything for a little dig eh?
Flynny Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 He's start 21 of out league games. Anything for a little dig eh? I think thats a bit unfair. Thracian's been no more or less critical of Clemence than everyone else. Taking the scenario that both Clemence and Laczko are out, in addition to Kisnorbo Doing the same I'd be tempted to do this: Alnwick Chambers - Stearman - McAuley - MattockHume - Weso - Oakley - BoriFryatt - Howard Bench: Hayles, Deej, N'Gotty, Osbourne, Sheehan
Bert Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 This will be a featured match on Saturday's Score (1430 GMT on BBCi/online) and Final Score (1630, BBC ONE/online).Norwich boss Glenn Roeder is hoping to have another signing in his squad for the match against Leicester. Jon Otsemobor should return after missing the defeat at Bury in the FA Cup but Luke Chadwick (shoulder) and Adam Drury (ankle) are out. DJ Campbell could make a shock return to the Leicester squad after returning to training following a pelvic problem. Stephen Clemence is doubtful with a calf injury while Zsolt Laczko will have a fitness test on his ankle.
Jonezy Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Typically we have to change a winning team, when we finally get one.... I hope Ollie does the simple thing, and doesn't change every thing around. Alnwick Stearman - McAuley - N'Gotty - MattockGabi - Oakley - Weso - Zolti (Sheehan if Zolti is unfit)Howard - HumeSubs: J.Chambers, King, Fryatt, Hayles, A.Chambers (Sheehan if Zolti plays) It could be worse I guess. Still I'm not expecting too much........
Thracian Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Shows we need another signing for the midfield. Weso is a good replacement but injury prone and most likely to need games under his belt. You're right. Especially considering that Weso's too good to be warming a bench ad infinitum and King is too good to be shunted back into the reserves for no reason I can understand.

Especially considering that Weso's too good to be warming a bench ad infinitum and King is too good to be shunted back into the reserves for no reason I can understand. This is all true, but if the players ahead of them are better or preferred to these, then what can you do?
Sods Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 You're right. Especially considering that Weso's too good to be warming a bench ad infinitum and King is too good to be shunted back into the reserves for no reason I can understand. To be honest i wouldnt mind seeing King being loaned out. I think their is a big difference between reserve/youth football compared to First Team Duties. He was probably chucked in a little too early, although he showed good potiential, definately one to keep hold of.
Koke Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 A loan move for King is still possible although Ollie hasn't dropped any hints about it. When Ollie have put his squad together come the end of the month and everybody is fit King won't even make the bench I presume. And he's too good to be thrown back into the reserves again.
Simon Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Really hoping that we win tomorrow- could get us started on a good run, and I have a Norwich supporting mate who will NOT shut up if they beat us. Team: AlnwickStearman McAuley N'Gotty MattockBori Weso Oakley LackzoHume HowardBench: J. Chambers, King, Hayles, Fryatt, The Deej
Flynny Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 I hope he does get a loan move. Did anyone read what Hayes has said about Holloway telling him that he's still very much a part of his plans for next season? Looks like he's using loan moves for the right reasons.
Thracian Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 This is all true, but if the players ahead of them are better or preferred to these, then what can you do? The trick of being a good manager is to make it work well for everyone involved. Had King done badly he'd have had no argument about being downgraded. But he hasn't. In fact on two or three occasions the team improved considerably when he was introduced. Few pretend that Clemence has played well but against Coventry they were quick to point out that he was back to his best and suggested it was all because he had the imperious Oakley alongside him. That might be true but it might as easily have been true had King been playing. I'd suggest any half decent midfielder would play better with Oakley in the team than otherwise. But the comments smacked of justifying the retention of Clemence (after an indifferent season) and the relegation of the "inexperienced" King. I just don't see why that should be. And the same goes for Weso. On a level playing field at the start of the season Weso was our best midfielder, no question in my mind. Being fair, Clemence might have been settling in but that wouldn't have been the case for five whole weeks. I don't suggest there was much in it either. Both are decent players at their best, just like King. But I hope Holloway's not intending to favour the seniors cos they've got a longer pedigree and draw better wages. Let's have people picked on merit and lets have the manager make sure all the contestants are kept properly fit to do their job, for once.. And if we end up with four equally good midfielders, let's use them all. Why we'd need a fifth midfielder just for a month I don't know though I'm sure there are good reasons.
lildave3 Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 Quite looking forward to this, not sure if we'll win though. Bit worried about the pace of the back line, but hopefully we'll put a couple away. Let's just take it to the real Tractor Boys
WetFlannel Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 We should win this comfortably, but we will probably make a mess of it. However, Howard is on top form, and the new lads are looking very good and have confidence off the back of a win. Expecting three points and will be disappointed with anything else.
lavrentis Posted 18 January 2008 Posted 18 January 2008 good luck boys, anyone know if lackzo is playing?
