hairy Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 I came across this terrific game on another forum I frequent. Here’s the procedure as given there: 1 - Go to wikipedia. Hit “random”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. 2 - Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album. 3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/ Third picture, no matter what it is ((SFW of course)), will be your album cover. 4 - Use photoshop or similar to mix it all up. Host it and bring it here. Here is mine. I only have paint at work
act smiley Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 I wonder where this started from, saw it start springing up on loads of forums over the last week, its genius.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 January 2008 Posted 16 January 2008 My first random article was Carolyn Franklin, who was Aretha's younger sister and recorded in her own right so I figured it wouldn't be as fun. Anyway, with the second random article here's my album cover
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 January 2008 Posted 16 January 2008 I remember doing something similar on my Amiga when I was a teen, only then me and my brother were doing album covers from scratch Fun!
Finnegan Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Seriously. I'm pretty sure this IS how half of Mark's CD collection come up with their ideas.
Unabomber Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 Strange how most of the ideas are as good as many of the bands that take at least 6 months to design an album cover.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 Strange how most of the ideas are as good as many of the bands that take at least 6 months to design an album cover. Was what I was wondering - that and how much these graphic designers get paid
