That is ****ing Hilarious!
Its a tad bit funny I must admit.
That was my thoughts tbh.

I'm glad you all said that because I couldn't help laughing when I saw it.

It was a bit pathetic tbh, the fact that they wrote 'Hamilton's family' in English makes me think that they might be British.

I thought they might be British but they spelt family wrong so now I'm not so sure

Hmm...its a pity they couldnt just have Booed him and gave him the old V signs or whatever.

Its a shame people have to resort to the colour of someones skin to be offensive.

However on the flip side,if someone's fat, skinny, has a big nose, big ears they too are riduculed for that reason.

BUT should the colour of ones skin be a reason for ridicule???

I honestly don't see what is racism about that.

If they were chanting racist comments then fair do's they're a bvnch o ****s but dressing up like black and white minstrels I mean come on guys lets get real ffs.

No wonder this country is going to the fvcking dogs :frusty:

They actually look like brits-probably Hamilton fans!!! OK maybe not Hamilton fans!

I agree that people are at times over sensitive but no-one can realistically be defending these morons?! If you have watched the news and read the articles it was more than just people blackening up their face to mock. That is offensive enough though and wasnt done in jest but to suggest that being black is something to be laughed at.

Spanish sports fans are famous for it down the years and are as bad now as we were in the 70s. With a dopey national footy manager like Aragones still stuck in 1954 what do you expect!

I hope they get a whopping fine, something that the football authorities are too cowardly to do when clubs are guilty of allowing racism within their stands.

Well said..

The minstrel act may have been considered humourous once upon a time (in the days of the empire, perhaps), but we're in the 21st century now and times have moved on.

Reports also suggest that Hamilton also suffered quite a bit of verbal abuse, with words like "monkey" and "black sh!t" being aimed at him. I'd hope no-one on here would defend THAT behaviour.

Regardless of Max Mosley's background or politics, the likes of Bernie Ecclestone can see the bigger picture. In view of F1's expansion plans for Asia, any hint of racism is a definite no-no.

With Spain having TWO Grand Prix this year, the conduct of their fans is a particularly sensitive issue.

While fascism in the UK has never been more than a protest movement (whether led by Oswald Mosley, the NF or the BNP), in Spain it was in government for decades after the civil war and clearly still has strong roots today.

I hope the socialist government there will step in and clamp down strongly on any repeat offenders. Racism has no place ANYWHERE in sport!

The image might make you smile but you have to think about the context before declaring it "f**king hilarious lololol".

It is blatantly racist.

Did the England friendly in the Bernabeu not teach you something about certain segments of Spanish culture?

Too true mate although it would be wrong for me to end this sentence with the words "I hate fookin Asians" :D

Wether you think it is rasict or not, it's funny.

I do not condone their actions but theres a lot of fuss over very little.

If a black person painted themselves white, nothing would be said, in fact, people would laugh at them, like I have done here.

I can't even understand how that would offend Hamilton himself tbh.

Eto'd actually got it so bad in a La Liga game once he tried to walk off the pitch.

After being convinced to stay on the pitch he grabbed another black player from the other side (I think is was Kamani) marched him down to the main stand and started pointing at himself and the other player as if to say, I'm the same as him.

I will admit I can't help but laugh at the picture, they look ridiculous.

lol

do you have any idea how universal a language English actually is?

Guys, do NOT make the mistake of thinking its just about the pictures....

The 23-year-old was subjected to a raft of racist insults during testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, home of the Spanish Grand Prix, including verbal attacks from a group sporting wigs, blackened faces and T-shirts bearing the slogan "Hamilton's family".

a quote from that well known gutter press the telegraph.

Whats wrong with verbal abuse?

It doesn't say it was racial verbal abuse.

I think the raicst claim is abit oversensitive, unless ofcourse they were shouting racist abuse!!!

I woul have liked everyone to see the funny side, but I think there behavour is abit insulting rather racist.

They really done that ? Aren't Spainish people got pretty dark skin anyway ? Saying that was it racist when everyone started wearing turbins because of Monty ?

Am you an idiot?

I think this is terrible and not in the slightest bit funny. To the people who find it amusing, do you really think this is where it ends? Do you really think the parents of that child go went home and said, 'that was funny Tom, but remember that we are all equal no matter the colour of our skin'? I fricking doubt it. Getting 'blacked up' is archaic, and you can debate the morality of it all you want, even if you try and defend it it's an extremely sensitive area considering the history of getting 'blacked up'. So what's the point in doing it when you know a sh*t storm will follow?

Posted

I all fairness though he is not black. Indeed he is as much white as he is black but that would not generate the extra income that another white driver would. It does not excuse the behaviour towards him in Spain.

It would seem to me that his "colour" is very much a question of perception and something people will make whatever they want out of it. :dunno:

My sources tell me that the spanish also threw things at him and tried to throw things at the motorhome and into the garage but the spanish police stepped in and incresed the security around him. Dont doutb the source though, he was there.

Say they did it to support him ? Where they being racist ? They could have been fans just supporting their hero for all you know. If that is racist, then wearing turbin because of Monty is too.

Typical PC BRIGADE reaction as usual.

Max Moseley's dad was racist. :)

Being fascist doesn't necessarily mean your racist!

The Hindu nationalist party RSS is not racist but very much fascist.

Unfortunately these days every fascist organization is associated with Nazism and so racist, but this is certainly not the case.
