lcfc_forever Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 What a joke of a performance, especially in the first half. We need Sinclair quick and perhaps Gradel. Why did we resort to playing long ball and hand the initiative to Plymouth when we were so much better playing the ball along the deck? Alnwick - 5.5 His distribution was woeful although he made a very good save to stop Easter scoring Chambers - 5.5 Didn't too much wrong defensively although wasted good attacking positions Kisnorbo - 4 One of the worst performance I've seen him put in a City shirt. His lack of pace was shown up in this match McAuley - 6.5 The best of the City defenders and looked dangerous on set pieces Clapham - 5.5 Struggled against Halmosi but showed composure on the ball when in possession Hume - 4.5 - You can't fault him for effort but he simply is not a right winger. Made far too many mistakes, giving away possession a number of times Clemence - 3.5 I know he is the club captain but he was awful today and has been poor for a number of games now. Time to drop him. Oakley - 4 Started the match well but became almost anonymous as the game went on. Bori - 3 Rightly taken off at half-time Howard - 5 Gave away far too many fouls and missed a couple of chances Hayles - 3 I don't understand why he plays when we have Campbell and Fryatt on the bench. Subs: Lazcko 5.5 - Got himself into some great goalscoring positions but wasted Leicester's best chances Campbell 7 - Leicester's best player when he came on. Injected some much needed pace into the Leicester team and surely has to start the next match Fryatt - N/A Only on for a couple of minutes and was unlucky not to score. I would start with him, Campbell and Howard in the next match to give us more goalscoring options. Watched it on TV - feel well gutted. However, feel more sorry for those who went.
Stevosevic Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 They were all crap, cant be bothered to rate them individually.
martyn Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Alnwick - 6 Chambers - 5 Kisnorbo - 5 McAuley - 5 Clapham - 5 Hume - 4.5 Clemence - 3 Oakley - 5 Bori - 4 Howard - 5.5 Hayles - 3 DJ - 6 Laczko - 4

Dames Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Whys Bori rated so low? Granted he didn't beat 10 men and slot in a goal but he tried to keep it on the ground and his one touch stuff looked to open up Plymouth at times. Shame his team mates wern't on the same wavelength.
lookwhaticando Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Can we all please indicate whether we're rating the players based on their televisual appearance or their actual appearance as seen from within the confines of the stadium? Ta.

Shame his team mates wern't on the same wavelength. Agreed. I thought he made the wrong sub there, hayles should've been the first man off I reckon. Can't be arsed to rate them individually, a collective 'poor' will have to do. EDIT: Based on actually going to the match

I thought he made the wrong sub there, hayles should've been the first man off I reckon. Can't be arsed to rate them individually, a collective 'poor' will have to do. EDIT: Based on actually going to the match Holloway's unwavering Loyalty to Barry Hayles is gimping the team. Him and Howard don't work together and stick him in midfield and we just lost width with Hume on the other side. Hayles has don't nothing but score 2 very fortunate goals and everyone is licking his arse.
STUHILL Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Don't want to waste time iven individual ratings. As a team I give - 3 complete lack of ideas, hoofing up field hoping for a lucky bounce or I dunno what....just clueless Holloway also gets a - 3 Playing strikes on BOTH wings, shocking tactics, desperate tactics!! In summary - POOR!!!!!
Father Ted Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Alnwick - 6 Chambers - 4.5 Kisnorbo - 5 McAuley - 3 Clapham - 4 Hume - 4.5 Clemence - 2 Oakley - 4.5 Bori - 4.5 Howard - 4.5 Hayles - 1 DJ - 4.5 Laczko - 4.5 Holloway 2
DB11 Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Wtf? McAuley was shit mate were you even at the game?
AyewJoking Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Alnwick - 5 - one good save, cant punch his way out of a paper bag. Chambers - 5 - now I know why Stearman is first choice right back. Kisnorbo - 5 - meh McAuley - 5 - meh Clapham - 7 - much better than mattock and Shush! Hume - 5 - sorry kiddo, fookin useless Clemence - 4 - crap Oakley - 5 - was he playing? Bori - 5 - meh Howard - 4 - total nightmare. should've came off but he was ollies only gameplan Hayles - 4 - no dice DJ - 5 - looked lively, shame he didnt look talented. waste of money. Laczko - 4 - pull your finger out ffs! Fryatt - 0 - it was cruel bringing him on. Holloway - 0 - all the tactical awareness of fookin cabbage
Joe. Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Ratings (from being at the game) Alnwick 5.5- Apparently should have saved the goal, kicking not great, but made one great save to deny Easter. Chambers 6- Tried to go forward and be attacking but it just didn't come off for him. McAuley 6- A shaky first half followed by a decent second. Kisnorbo 7- Looked pretty solid all game as per. Clapham 7- Reassuring at the back, experience prevailed for him. Hume 5.5- Again poor on the right wing, we need to stop him playing there. It's just not his position. Oakley 5.5- Not one of his best games, didn't actually receive much of the ball to feet because of our long ball football. Clemence 6- Ditto Oakley really. Bori 6.5- Thought he was one of our better players first half and was surprised to see him go off. Hayles 4- Awful today. Must do better Barry. Howard 6- Used as a target man all game, couldn't do much with the long balls that were pumped up to him. Subs: Campbell 6- Looked more dangerous than Hayles when he came on, would like to see him start next game. Zsolt 5- Looked like he should have done better with one particular chance, twattish at the end. Not great. Fryatt N/a- But a good effort on goal.
The Reverend Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Can we all please indicate whether we're rating the players based on their televisual appearance or their actual appearance as seen from within the confines of the stadium? Ta. Unfortunately i was there. Wtf? McAuley was shit mate were you even at the game? For once i agree with DB11. Alnwick - Decent Chambers - Ok Kisnorbo - Turd McAuley - Cancel his deal. Pissed on by a league 2 striker Clapham - Average Hume - Not interested anymore Clemence - Average Oakley - Some decent passes Bori - Best player in first half. Baffling substitution. Howard - Won a fair bit in the air, no-one running off him Hayles - Should of been took off instead of Bori. Utter guff. Still thought he had an Argyle shirt on Holloway - Wrong, wrong, wrong. Talks about round pegs in round holes. Bori left wing? Hume right wing? Hayles left wing? F8ck off.
FleckneyFox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Ben Alnwick - 6 - Distribution average, no confidence on crosses, 1 excellent 2nd half save Chambers - 6.5 - one of the better players looked to get forward and put crosses in. McAuley - 5.5 - looked fragile and nervous today not as strong in the air hes started doing his silly little runs again Kisnorbo - 6 - Looked pretty decent but needed to get his tackle in more often Clapham - 5.5 - Not a spectacular debut needed to stay tighter to Halmosi + offers fuk all going forward Bori - 6 - Why was he taken off? didnt have a bad 1st half we needed a winger. Oakley - 7 - Showed a bit off fight a few decent passes was about the only one not looking to hoof Clemence - 5.5 - I dont rate him.set pieces are decent otherwise hes a weak link in our team. make Oakley captain Hume - 6 - been told so many times doesnt like playing on wing so what do we do? tried as always but no end product Howard - 5 - Gets wound up to easy. yeah hes tall but he needs the ball at his feet aswell Hayles - 5 - oh dear oh dear. Barry Hayles left winger? no. he needs to go back to being super sub Campbell - 5 - too weak never threatened Laczko - 6 - looked like he was trying hard. no defensive responsibilities so was probably happier Fryatt - N/A - But he did almost score Ref - 0 - Gave to many decisions Plymouths way apparently hand ball at end was blatant? worst ref'd game ive seen here for a few months Ollie - 0 - NOT SAYING WE SHOULD SACK HIM. But why does he moan about out of position players and then play Hayles on left and Hume on right. tactics were shoicking (hoof it to Howard and head it down to.......?) i felt first half he was scared to come off the bench. Im starting to question his aquisitions. Defence play with no confidence because Alnwick doesnt. Overall im very dissapointed but im not going to get angry because we are still 3 points clear and the bottom 4 arent rapidly picking up points. 2 very tough games in the next 7 days if we can pick a point up each game and keep our heads above water i'll be pleased. we still play - Sheff wed, Preston, S****horpe and Colchester at home as long as we dont lose any of them we'll be fine. at the end of the day this is one game weve lost by one goalim sure there will be a huge over reaction but hey?
David O'Leary Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Ratings (from being at the game) Alnwick 5.5 Chambers5 McAuley 5 Kisnorbo 7 Hume 4 Oakley 5.5 Clemence 6 Bori 4.5 Hayles 4 Howard 5 Subs: Campbell 7 Zsolt 5 Fryatt N/a Ollie- 2 Ref- 1
Ozwin Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Alnwick - 5 - Hoofed it every time he could, don't think he played it on the ground once. Made a good save at the end. Chambers - 5 Kisnorbo - 4 McAuley - 4 Clapham - 6 - Thought he was a good debutant tonight. Good crossing ability. Hume - 5 Clemence - 4 - Crap set pieces by him today, didn't boss midfield either. Oakley - 4 - Pretty much the same as above, besides the set pieces since he didn't take any. Bori - 5 - I though he did well and was a bit shocked he came off. Seemed to be the only one playing it on the floor. Howard - 5 - Was man handled tonight, ref gave him nothing and he probably could have had a good game had the ref been different. Hayles - 3 - Waste of a player today. Didn't make any penatrating runs or passes and just wasted 60/70 minutes which someone else could have had. DJ - 7 - When he came on we played again. He HAS to start next game. Laczko - 5 - Not bad, at least we went a bit wide when he came on. Shocker of a game.
Calum McDermott Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 We could have won the game. Laczko missed chances, DJ scared to shoot, McAuley at the end should have picked up the ball and gave it to the keeper.

Oakley had a solid performance today, he so rarely gives away possesion and he tries to get good footbal going.
Simi Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Alnwick - 6.5 Chambers - 6 McAuley - 5 Kisnorbo - 5 Clapham - 7 Hume - 4 Clemence - 5 Oakley - 5 Bori - 6 Howard - 6 Hayles - 5 Subs Campbell - 6.5 Lackzo - 4
Jimmy Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Alnwick 5 - should of done better with the goal Chambers 5 - very poor did nothing to suggest he should keep his place ahead of Stearman for Watford McAuley 5 - Celebrated his new contract with a shocker Kisnorbo 4 - marked down for not being smart enough to adjust to Easters pace Clapham 6 - pick of the defenders but what was the débutante left back doing organizing the defence at free kicks? Hume 4 - woeful again Oakley 5 - struggled again trying to do the job of 2 men Clemence 4 - dowelled on the ball then when he did pass gave it away too many times, needs to be stripped of the captaincy as he just isn't a leader and I believe he it may be burdening him Bori 5 - did well in part was unlucky to be taken off as literally anyone could of been replaced Howard 5 - picked up a little in the second half but his headers tend to be far too weak Hayles 4 - should under no circumstances EVER be played in midfield again Campbell 6 - patchy but struggled to impose himself Laczko 5 - made some good runs unlucky not to score with a header but then lucky not to be sent off at the end. Fryatt - no point rating him, but why wait until the 83rd minuet to bring him on Ollie you NEED to get a defender that organises at CB, Clemence needs to be relieved of the burden of captain until he regains some form, though I wouldn't be opposed to dropping him either, Hume either needs to be played upfront or benched AND FOR F#CK SAKE PICK ONE FROM HOWARD OR HAYLES AS THEY CANNOT WORK TOGETHER and personally at home I would always play both Bori and Laczko (or Clapham and Mattock together) as we NEED the creative outlets on both flanks
Ozwin Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 TBH, I rarely saw him on the ball tonight. I suppose he did alright when he got the ball but he just didn't do anything with it for me. It was a scrappy game so I didn't see too much of him, I'm probably wrong.
lildave3 Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Wrong Game? Oakley had a solid performance today, he so rarely gives away possesion and he tries to get good footbal going. How often did he actually touch the ball?
