C.J Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I give Zsolt 10........................ For his dive at the end, fair play to the fella, i'd of tried it.
maddog Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 What a joke of a performance, especially in the first half. We need Sinclair quick and perhaps Gradel. Why did we resort to playing long ball and hand the initiative to Plymouth when we were so much better playing the ball along the deck?Alnwick - 5.5 His distribution was woeful although he made a very good save to stop Easter scoring Chambers - 5.5 Didn't too much wrong defensively although wasted good attacking positions Kisnorbo - 4 One of the worst performance I've seen him put in a City shirt. His lack of pace was shown up in this match McAuley - 6.5 The best of the City defenders and looked dangerous on set pieces Clapham - 5.5 Struggled against Halmosi but showed composure on the ball when in possession Hume - 4.5 - You can't fault him for effort but he simply is not a right winger. Made far too many mistakes, giving away possession a number of times Clemence - 3.5 I know he is the club captain but he was awful today and has been poor for a number of games now. Time to drop him. Oakley - 4 Started the match well but became almost anonymous as the game went on. Bori - 3 Rightly taken off at half-time Howard - 5 Gave away far too many fouls and missed a couple of chances Hayles - 3 I don't understand why he plays when we have Campbell and Fryatt on the bench. What game were you watching you flippin idiot! Bori was our best player in the first half and was wrongly subed. Subs: Lazcko 5.5 - Got himself into some great goalscoring positions but wasted Leicester's best chances Campbell 7 - Leicester's best player when he came on. Injected some much needed pace into the Leicester team and surely has to start the next match Fryatt - N/A Only on for a couple of minutes and was unlucky not to score. I would start with him, Campbell and Howard in the next match to give us more goalscoring options. Watched it on TV - feel well gutted. However, feel more sorry for those who went. What game were you watching you flippin idiot! Bori was our best player in the first half and was wrongly subed. Holloway made more ridiculous substitutions and tactical changes today, i mean chucking strikers on when he could play the wingers gave us no width, which Holloway always goes on about that we need it and absolutely no balance. Is it me or does Ollie talk a load of bullshit?
Daggers Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Stez's impersonation of Zippy and George - 10 Fat kid filling my left ear with some fizzy drink - 0 Pub - 3 (shit beer no cobs, shit beer no cobs) I Am Legend (watched on way to Leicester)- 4 Sopranos (watched going home) - 8 Match - 2 Manager - 1 Squad - 2 MBNA free LCFC hat - 6
Thracian Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 Spot on with Clemence thrac. ive been trying to raise that point for ages apart from his set pieces he offers little. A bit harsh on Bori though he wasnt the worst player in the team by a long shot On reflection you're right about Bori. I've given him another point and a quarter cos he wasn't worse than Clemence or McAuley. I'm just getting fed up with our wingers not taking people on, not getting round the back, not making incisive passes and not having shots on goal.
danny. Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I can't be arsed but... to the people giving Bori low points.. wtf? he was the best player in the first half - he looks like one of our only players with any football talent, no idea why the hell he was taken off???? Howard was absolutely useless all game, can't believe he was a premiership striker? DJ looked sharp, no end result though McAuley terrible Clemence + Oakley didn't do much but I don't think they had many options today Ollie - crap, dunno what your tactics were but they sucked!
Mark Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Howard was absolutely useless all game, can't believe he was a premiership striker? I wouldn't call him that when the worst team in the history of the Premiership didn't even want him. A few good seasons at Championship level and he's suddenly worth 1.5 million at 31, crazy.
TrickyTrev Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Holloway 0 (When faced with a challenge he was found wanting. Hume out of position, players uninspired, Campbell left on the bench, Clapham a real anticlimax and when we needed a kamikaze approach he replaced one forward with anothe rand far too late instead of leaving both on and making the change earlier. Managerial disaster really. On the contrary, it is Holloway's delusion that putting as many centre forwards on the pitch as possible makes you an attacking side that was at the heart of our defeat today. We had 4 centre forwards on at the begining of the second half, neither Hume nor Hayles had a clue where they were playing. I counted four different formations in the first half alone, with Hayles, Hume and Bori being moved here there and everywhere. How we expect to show any shape or pattern with all this going on I don't know. WTF were they doing all week. Alnwick 8 Made a brilliant save to keep us in it, kicked well all game and punched when needed. Chambers 6 Solid and industrious, you know what you are getting. Prefer Stearman. Kisnorbo 5 Won everything in the air but distribution was woeful. McAuley 3 The fact this muppet has managed to get a contract, and a starting place, out of Ollie really worries me. Fouls, can't pass, air kicks. Everything you don't want from a centreback. 5k a week for being tall. Clapham 5 The goal wasn't his fault. Hayles and Bori were arguing over who was playing left midfield at the time, hence why Halmosi was unmarked. But hes a severely limited player these days. Hume 6 Looks disillusioned but one chipped pass through to Chambers was the only good moment of the first half and played alright in the second. Never a winger. Oakley 5 Some nice things when he got the ball, but that wasn't enough. Clemence 4 Really disappointing, didn't offer for the ball at all which is one of the, many, reasons we didn't get going. Not a captains performance. Bori 6 Subbed for not running round like a headless chicken and looking to play rather than lumping it. Bizarre. Howard 6 Was being fouled for the first 20 minutes but the ref gave nothing, let his frustration show and deserved booking. BTW this is Howard at his best. He is an immobile fat guy that can head the ball, so if you didn't like it today it aint gonna get any better over the next 2 years. Hayles 3 Hes only got a 3 because he was pissed about by Ollie moving him all over the place, his actual performance was nearer a zero. He was no good in his prime so why we've got the sack of shite running about for us at 36 I don't know, especially with hume, fryatt and DJ all waiting in the wings. Madness. **********Subs******** DJ 7 Has a much more natural partnership with Howard than Hayles, looks to feed off of the flick ons and offers a different out ball for the rest of the team over the top. Must start on Tuesday. Lakczo 6 Held his position which gave us a touch of balance for the last 10. Terrible dive. Fryatt n/a Not on long enough. Holloway 1 I have only ever seen a manager so obviously responsible for a poor performance once in my life and that is when Smegson played De Vries and Cort as wingers. His bizarre tactics, and the constant rotation of, gave us zero chance of a performance today. Worrying, very worrying indeed.
TrickyTrev Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I wouldn't call him that when the worst team in the history of the Premiership didn't even want him. A few good seasons at Championship level and he's suddenly worth 1.5 million at 31, crazy. And a 3 year contract.
Bentex Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 to the people giving Bori low points.. wtf? he was the best player in the first half - he looks like one of our only players with any football talent, no idea why the hell he was taken off???? I find it interesting that people either rated him badly or rated him as the best player IMO he was terrible...and I directly watched him, Halmosi and Tímár. Wasn't too interested in the other players I'm puzzled to how people would think he played well.
Green machine Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Halmosi is truly a class player, but Tiamr was imeense today as he has been for us all season.....they paled your own hungarians into insignificance......although i will agree i was suprised with the half time subbing of Bori.
Tommy G Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Team - 3 Poor Players: Laczko: Did nothing when he came on for half an hour, then dived. Twat Hume: Wayward passing, good effort but nothing else. Oakley: Did he even play? Non existant. Hayles: Has been good of late but did nothing noticeable for me. Ollie - 2 What were you doing Boss? Playing strikers again on the wings. Seems lost at the minute, the pressure might be getting to him.
Ultra Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 They were all crap, cant be bothered to rate them individually. Agreed, apart from Alnwick..
johnnycash Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Ben Alnwick - 6 - 1 excellent 2nd half save Chambers - 6.5 - one of the better players. PassinG and mobility considerably better than Stearman's. With a few more games to get match sharp would be my prefered RB. McAuley - 4.5 One of his worsT games Kisnorbo - 6 - Looked pretty decent Clapham - 6 - O.K., but like Chmabres let down by those immediately in front of him. Bori - 6 - Why was he taken off? didnt have a bad 1st half we needed a winger. Oakley - 7 - Showed a bit off fight a few decent passes was about the only one not looking to hoof Clemence - 5.5 - I dont rate him.set pieces are decent otherwise hes a weak link in our team. make Oakley captain Hume - 3.5 Woeful. Lots of showboating ebergy when everyone is looking but sometimes left his full back with two men to deal with. Decsion making, and passing generally abysmall. Howard - 6 Needs the right partner and better suppoprt from wide midfiled areas. Hayles - 3.5 Aweful Campbell - 6.5 Did OK for me. His pace was a threat. Laczko - 4 Too light weight Fryatt - N/A - But he did almost score BRING BACK GRADEL FROM LOAN AT BOURNMOUTH
teblin Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Alnwick - 5 - Goal was straight at him though he maybe could've done better. Chambers - 5.5 average Kisnorbo - 5 not at their best McAuley - 5 as above Clapham - 6 - steady Hume - 4 Wasted the possesion he had, when will the guy get dropped. Clemence - 4 - poor Oakley - 4 - poor Bori - 6 was very confused with this one, he was the only player that passed to a leicester player. Ollie got that wrong. Howard - 6 - should've had a free kick 90% of the time was played up to him. Hayles - 4 Poor he should've been the onoe that came off at half time. DJ - 7 - Lively, if it was going to happen he would've been involved. Laczko - 5 - didn't have much chance to get into it
teblin Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I give Zsolt 10........................For his dive at the end, fair play to the fella, i'd of tried it. He did actually get his shirt pulled back, but made a meal of it.
davieG Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Ben Alnwick - 5 One decent save, kicks too much and they're crap to boot Chambers - 3 Can't pass McAuley - 3 Can't pass Kisnorbo - 3 Can't pass Clapham - 5 Workman like at least he can pass the ball Bori - 5 Looked strong in the tackle but having to do far too much defensive work Oakley - 4 Started well with good runs into the box but like the rest of the team packed and went home after 15 minutes Clemence - 3 Never a Captain, looked totally disinterested, and his leisurely strolls to take the corners at the end really pissed me off Hume - 4 Will probably need a psychiatrist by the season end Howard - 3 lumbering arrogant arse Hayles - 2 Ollie's Dad - Why else was he playing? Campbell - 6 looked up for it, lacked composure probably due to being desperate to start a game Laczko - 5 Looked keen but the team had all gone by the time he arrived Fryatt - N/A - What was the point Hollowing - If this guy is a motivator and a football tactician then I'm the lead singer with Kasabian
Candidcamera Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 There seems no one capable of turning a game and with Hume completely played out of the match on the right again. He has to re-think and play a similar line up to the Coventry match. Clemence must be in danger of losing his place. Alnwick 7 Chambers 3 McAuley 5 Kisnorbo 5 Clapham 6 Bori 5 Howard 5 Hayles 3 Hume 3 Clemence 4 Oakley 5
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Clemence - 3 Never a Captain, looked totally disinterested, and his leisurely strolls to take the corners at the end really pissed me off I completely agree with this. Why do people on here rate him so highly? All he does is stroll around the pitch, look at me, look at me, and he does bugger all. As for the corners, as well as the leisurely stroll, we get the leisurely 'floater' into the box EVERY TIME and it does it work? NO. So try something different, you are supposed to be a professional, act like one. And stop being so damn predictable with it! Oh yeah, almost forgot, show some PASSION and DESIRE to win a game. You're the captain. It's what the CAPTAIN does. Sort it out.
Narborough Bod Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 On reflection you're right about Bori. I've given him another point and a quarter cos he wasn't worse than Clemence or McAuley. I'm just getting fed up with our wingers not taking people on, not getting round the back, not making incisive passes and not having shots on goal. When is Clemence going to be stripped of the club captaincy, he has no leadership ability, is playing crap and doesn't even attempt to motivate the players. And why does Alnwick keep getting decent reviews on here. He made no attempt to throw the ball out and half of his kicks were sliced in the wrong direction. Sky only show our games so that they can repeat them for insomniacs on the can't sleep chanel.
lcfc_forever Posted 10 February 2008 Author Posted 10 February 2008 Bori seems to be getting mixed reviews - some say he played alright in the first half, other including me said he was poor. What pushed me to rate him in the latter category was that chance he had in the first half to put a cross in a dangerous position after Plymouth had given the ball back and he somehow managed to kick it out of play. IAs a winger, his main prioity is to challenge the full back and get crosses in and he rarely did that. In addition, when Campbell came on for him, he had a much bigger impact as well and left-wing is not his position either (although he became more central when Lazcko came on) To be honest, the whole team could have been subbed if possible poor as they were.
MikeyT Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Agreed, apart from Alnwick.. Could argue that he should have done better from Halmosi's goal! I personally think he should have saved it! I also thought that Clapham had a good steady debut, and looks promising, despite most peoples moans when they heard we had got him!
lavrentis Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Could argue that he should have done better from Halmosi's goal!I personally think he should have saved it! He kinda made up for it though.
MikeyT Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 He kinda made up for it though. I know what you are saying, he did make a great save in the second half to deny Easters!
Father Ted Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Alnwick: 7.25 (One exceptional save from Easter to keep the match alive by stopping us going 2-0 down. Generally sound and one of the few plsues from the day). Chambers: 5.5 (Exactly as I anticipated. Sound enough defensively but lost going forward. Anyone who believes he's a better option that Stearman is in Never Never Land). Kisnorbo: 5 (Good job Plymouth didn't really commit to attack because they passsed us to death at times and got a yard on us every time in attack when the opportunity arose. I've mentioned that any team who stretches our defence and plays simple passes between and behind our defenders will have us and that was emphasised today. But for Alnwick we'd have been out of our misery sooner). McAuley: 4 (Was he bad. Yes hje threatened from the odd free kick but his distribution was diabolocal. Just refused to play the simple pass, particularly to Chambers. Too slow and ponderous). Clapham: 4 (He's getting no honeymoon mark from me. Played one decent crossfield pass second half but lost his man for the goal, a sin which cost Mattock his place last week. Looked loose defensively and offered nothing by way of attacking threat whatsoever. Shush!'s chance creation was desperately missed in every way today). Hume: 5.5 (It's criminal to play Hume on the right wing. He might reputedly sulk about it but he tried his best and occasionally threatened to create something but he's like a fish on dry land and all the threat he posed as a striker was lost. Did he have a single shot?. Bizarre selection really. Clemence: 3.75 (Some of you lot keep insisting he's a good player but, apart from getting caught in possession and almost costing us a goal what did he contribute? Thoroughbred? If he'd been the only horse in the race he'd have come second. I hope Holloway's as harsh judging him as the senior players were on Mattock). Oakley 4.25 (suddenly Derby are looking the bright ones for selling him. I just wish I could earn money so easily for have so little effect). Bori: 4.25 (It was only when he was taken off I realised he was playing. Gradel or Boro? You've got to be joking. It's like asking if the world is square or round). Howard: 4.5 (Won some headers but it so slow and cumbersome). Hayles: 3 (Ollie's blue eyed boy but was a disappointment almost throughout). Subs: Lazcko 4.5 (That looked like a dive to me and if it was he'd get one warning followed by his pass out). Campbell 7 (Our one outfield sparkler. How the hell can Holloway watch people train all week and leave this uy out in favour of the donkey's he played? We are desperate for pace but we leave the one player who fits the bill on the bench. Moronic). Fryatt 4 (Great chance to score but just didn't bust a gut for it. He always shows promise in situations like today but just doesn't seem to pose enough threat long term). Holloway 0 (When faced with a challenge he was found wanting. Hume out of position, players uninspired, Campbell left on the bench, Clapham a real anticlimax and when we needed a kamikaze approach he replaced one forward with anothe rand far too late instead of leaving both on and making the change earlier. Managerial disaster really. You are a legend! Exactly how I have been seeing certain players like Clemence and Hayles for a few games but some dipstick always has a go at me for criticising them. Spot on Thrac and now it's time for us fans to get real and really get behind the team.
C-man Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Alnwick - 5 Chambers - 3 McAuley - 2 Kisnorbo - 3 Clapham - 5 Bori - 4 Clemence - 4 Oakley - 4 Hume - 3 Hayles - 3 Howard - 5 Zsolt - 4 Fryatt - 5 Campbell - 6
