lavrentis Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Hello, anyone see what happened to him, I literally tuned in 1 second after he got injured so I didn't know how he got injured. Apparently, it is quite bad.. did anyone see it?
Unabomber Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 You couldn't really see it, but it was obviously horrific as they couldn't show it again, my thoughts are with him and I hope he plays again. And listening to Geoff Shreeves it sounds even worse than first thought.
MikeyT Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 No i didnt see it either i am watching the game, but at that moment just happened to be reading the newspaper, when i heard Taylor had been sent off. It must have been absolutely horrific though, even for the them not show the replay! Best of look to Eduardo! Hope he makes a speedy recovery!!
kevinwpratt Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I didnt think the tackle looked bad 'live' but if they aren't playing the replays due to "poor taste" and "to upsetting" then its going to be really bad. I really feel for him, i think he is a great player to watch
Samilktray Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Sounds absolutely awful Hopefully its not too bad and he'll be up playing again soon. Eduardos showing signs of being a really good player.
Raj Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I hate to hear about injuries to any sportsmen(women) It must be horrific to go through. Good luck to the lad!
Jack Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Sounds like a awful challenge. There is no place for tackles like this in football.
Master Fox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Sounds pretty nasty. No doubt it'll be in one of the papers tomorrow . I hate watching limbs being taken apart in tackles, it's horrible when it happens to you.
DB11 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva suffered an horrific broken leg in the opening minutes of the Premier League clash with Birmingham. The Croatia international was challenged by Birmingham's Martin Taylor in the third minute of the game at St Andrews with the centre-back being shown an immediate red card by referee Mike Dean. Eduardo's clearly distressed team-mates immediately signalled to the sidelines that urgent attention was required and the game was held up for seven minutes as he received treatment on the field. The injury was deemed to be so serious that replays of the incident were not shown on television. Photographs of the challenge and the immediate aftermath suggest the injury is similar to the break suffered by Manchester United forward Alan Smith during their FA Cup defeat at Liverpool in 2006. Eduardo is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines and is certain to miss the remainder of this campaign and Croatia's Euro 2008 challenge in the summer. Hope the lad recovers
purpleronnie Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I missed it but my Dad saw it he didnt think it looked like that bad of a tackle but the ref thought it was bad enough to show a straight red. Obviously it must have broke his ankle or leg. Probably a severe break from the reaction of the players. Makes me remember David Busst a few years ago. Hope this isnt a career ender.
Bryn Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Sky said they wouldn't replay the incident because it's too horrific
