DB11 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 There is a difference between malicious intent and careless.Just because it wasnt malicious doesnt mean he shouldnt get in trouble for it being reckless.. 4 game ban. Reckless is a yellow card
AyewJoking Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Eduardo is a class player and I hope he recovers back to his best. Bad news for Croatia too.
Tevez Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Really bad, hope the lad recovers. But i'm sure Thorntons tackle on Oakley was worse?
filbertway Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Errr I hope he can get back playing football and recover. Makes me feel sick seeing it, but I can't stop looking at the picture, it's rank. Good luck recovering Eduardo
lildave3 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Let me make this clear to people who I was with at todays game, or at least half time. I was laughing at the fact that Arsenal were going to be without a very good player for the rest of the season, not the fact he has broke his leg. I do hope he comes back to be better than ever and conquer the world, just not for Arsenal
Joe. Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Never nice to hear this happening to any footballer. Would like to see it on Match Of The Day later to see what exactly happened. Sounded like just a badly timed tackle rather than a malicious one. Let's hope he's OK and not finished.
Darkzzz_ Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Horrific is not the word to use here!! I really hope he can pay again after this.
Jay Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 that was just horrible from the pics it looks like the lad will be lucky to keep his leg let alone play again, broken ankle, shin and Fibula I believe looks like it was only muscle and skin holding his foot on!! my own thoughts on the challenge is that although it didn't look that bad in real time being 3minutes in I am in no doubt that Taylor would have gone into hit and let him know he had his cards marked for the game as happens in pretty much every game up and down the country but this time it's probably ruined his career but still no intent to ruin his career imo
lavrentis Posted 23 February 2008 Author Posted 23 February 2008 That makes the tackle look a lot worse. Look at Febregas' face
dandannieldanok Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 That makes the tackle look a lot worse. Disgraceful, that shows his intention to rake his studs from shin to ankle, in which he unfortunately suceeded in.
whitlock Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Bas*tard, that makes it look so much worse than what i originally thought it was, OUCHHHHYYYY
Durnerz Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Disgraceful, that shows his intention to rake his studs from shin to ankle, in which he unfortunately suceeded in. No it doesnt, it shows Eduardo's slipped the ball past him and Taylors already committed to the challenge. Yes its a bad injury but its an occupational hazard of football, i've lost count of the amount of tackles i've put in where the lads been too quick for me and ive got there a fraction of a second late, sadly for Eduardo this could mean a lengthly spell or even the end of his career, its the risk you take.

Some could argue that they get paid enough to take the risk but still. Terrible and I bet he was in agony

dandannieldanok Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 No it doesnt, it shows Eduardo's slipped the ball past him and Taylors already committed to the challenge. But there is no excuse for the foot being that high and studs clearly showing.
lildave3 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 But there is no excuse for the foot being that high and studs clearly showing. I want to see it before I make any judegements, alot of things look a lot worse when frozen like that.
Matt Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 That makes the tackle look a lot worse. I saw the tackle on TV and heard Wenger moaning that Taylor should never play football again and I though what the fook?! Its a tackle you see week in, week out, but this has accidentally gone wrong and seriously injured a player, it happens, but this picture makes it look a hell of a lot worse, but snapshop pictures do I suppose. Although it's an Arsenal player (Joking) - Get back soon! Bet Wenger's thanking his lucky stars its not one of his French boys!

The Reverend Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 The challenge looked fairly innocuous at first, but looking at that pic, his foot is very high, with studs showing, doesnt mean he meant it but its horrendous really, and a type of tackle that we see week in week out in the premiership, but because it doesnt injure the player, nothings done about it. Thats football though. Its well paid because your career can be over in an instance. Unfortunately this could be the case for Eduardo, but i doubt it, he'll get the best treatment around, and be back playing.
Darkzzz_ Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I hate arsenal.... I like Eduardo, good player, i really feel for him a lot... It doesn't seem he will play again really does it but i suppose you just never know at all. I think Taylor is going for the ball, but having said that it is a awfull challenge, he is showing his studs and they are right on his shin. Take a look at this, his face says it all. http://www.footytube.com/

Ouch. I certainly wouldn't say it was intentional though.
Joe. Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 The picture after the one posted above shows the real damage. Very nasty
