Joe. Posted 25 February 2008 Posted 25 February 2008 Chandler do you just come on here and start arguments every time you post? Because it seems that way...
Chandler Posted 25 February 2008 Posted 25 February 2008 What the hell are you on about. Just showing you old cock that people see fouls for what they really are only when they commited against their own players. Like when Balde broke Weso's leg - no one here described that act of savagery as 'late' or 'mistimed.'
Bert Posted 25 February 2008 Posted 25 February 2008 Sorry son but that euphemism is recent. Never heard it before the 90's. Designed to placate the managers of the offending players and probably sanctioned no doubt by the BBC's lawyers. In any case, Taylor did not TACKLE Eduardo. He STAMPED on him. You need some serious deprogramming and a lesson in elementary logic... He didn't stamp on him. He went in for a tackle with his studs showing, and when contact was made, he caught Eduardo's leg, which was his standing foot, with all his weight on it, meaning it was only ever going to break. Eduardo was much too quick for Taylor, and with the power Taylor was going in at, there was no chance this would now be avoided. Also, Arsene Wenger? One of the biggest hypocrites in football? I'm fairly sure if the roles had have been reversed, he would've said "Vwell I didn't see it"
Chandler Posted 25 February 2008 Posted 25 February 2008 David Busst > Eduardo. You could well be right C-man - I never got to review that incident. Contrary to what people say I don't come on here simply for a gratuitous dust up. I have had a bee in my bonnet about the growing levels of violence in professional football for some time. More specifically, I have become outraged by the number of sub lethal assaults that are contrived to appear as accidental by players who are very skilled at controlling their emotions. Thirty years ago pro's used to kick, trip, hack, punch and butt and usually their only hope of getting away with such conduct was by doing it off the ball. Now when a player is felled by an elbow or has 'PREDATOR' stamped all over him he is called a cheat.

You are stating the bleedin' obvious - this does not excuse Taylor's actions in anyway. Think before you post in future...

Have a look through the thread, and see where I've tried to excuse Taylor's actions.
Chandler Posted 25 February 2008 Posted 25 February 2008 OK folks, I have vented my spleen and these are my last words on the matter: If when next you venture down to the Walkers (and your eyesight is good enough and/or you are close enough to the action) take a good look at the players faces and their expressions during regular play. Note their intensity, their desire, their aggression, determination - you can virtually feel the adrenalin pumping through them. But be prepared for a change in demeanour - for when you see a player coming over all nonchalent, cold blooded, strangely relaxed or detached as he's going in for a 50/50, thats when you know that the studs are about to come in, or the elbows are about to fly or that trailing leg is about to coil... THAT'S WHEN HE'S READY TO COMMIT MURDER.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 February 2008 Posted 26 February 2008 I play a lot of football and it's never occurred to me to tackle like that. There's no need for it and if players aren't going to get the idea by sending-offs then there should be longer bans attached. To say it was clumsy or mistimed is missing the point. You should never be "tackling" someone by stamping down on them. The art of tackling has been warped by the pace of the English game these days. You don't see as many above-the-ankle tackles in Spanish or Italian football. Everyone plays at 100mph in the Premiership and it's become acceptable to make dangerous, lunging tackles all over the place. Someone was going to pay the price eventually. Now something has to be done about it. There was a spate of elbowing incidents in the late 90s which we've managed to get under control due to red cards. Hopefully these disgusting challenges will go the same way. There is a difference between being committed to a tackle and going over the top of the ball needlessly. I go in like that all the time, in fact I went in on JME like that at the FT game, got the ball of course.

potter3 Posted 26 February 2008 Posted 26 February 2008 I'd say Hostile There was no anger involved

You're convincing Chandler, i'll give you that, and the way you have an answer for everything is quite impressive, as is the way that you disparage other peoples viewpoint with more bullshit and propaganda. Must try harder though. You aint foolin' me boyo.
Trumpet Posted 26 February 2008 Posted 26 February 2008 Chandler's clearly lost the plot. Your talking about Hanson and Lawrence as if they're part of a big cover up, aliens perhaps.
Simi Posted 26 February 2008 Posted 26 February 2008 Let's not completely ruin this thread by throwing shit insults at each other. Just ignore him or come up with something constructive.
shen Posted 26 February 2008 Posted 26 February 2008 Tough luck for Eduardo, but I won't be complaining about the increased playing time Bendtner will get as a consequence...
ASH17LCFC Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 eduardo wohoho eduardo wohoho he had the silky skills now he walks like heather mills
Tommy G Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 eduardo wohohoeduardo wohoho he had the silky skills now he walks like heather mills Thats a bit sick. yet probably the funniest thing you've ever posted. Your still a twat though..
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 Thats a bit sick. yet probably the funniest thing you've ever posted.Which isn't saying much really.. Tommy you have the sense of humour of a German with a Hernia.
Tommy G Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 Tommy you have the sense of humour of a German with a Hernia. And...? Not as good as.. Van per -sie...when a girl says no... Molest her! My fave chant of all time. I'm sure the 60K a week Eduardo is earning will soften the blow of his broken leg, as now he has probably got over the worst of what has happened to him on saturday Waits for the knee-jerk reaction of how insesitive I am and that no one would wish a broken leg however much they were earing blah blah blah

Tommy G Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 I should think he has months and months of pain and rehab in front of him to be honest! Assuming he was out for 15 months without playing football, that means he would earn gross of £3.9 million in that period on the assumption he is is on £60,000 per week. After the first two months he will be off his cast and in the gym. I bet the watertight FD at arsenal is wetting his pants at those stats, with the worry that he may never fully recover or play to that standard again. So if they were forced to release him it would have cost Arsenal just over £11 mill for 6 months of him playing there. That includes wages and Signing Fee etc, how many has he scored? What a distaster
