davieG Posted 3 April 2008 Posted 3 April 2008 In his Beetle Car. OS Ian Holloway certainly turned a few heads when he arrived at the Belvoir Drive training ground today (Thursday). The City boss coasted in driving his daughter's 1971 orange VW 1303S Beetle - which has a rather apt number plate. He said: "We have had it for just over a year now and we love it. We bought it off the internet when I was down at Plymouth and she's been brilliant. "I had some work done on it the other day so I had to pick it up this morning. I've had some funny looks but I don't care - I really like it. "I've always liked them as a car. I think this is the fourth or fifth one I've had. They're great. "The number plate was a pure fluke. You wouldn't believe it would you?" Check out a full feature with Ollie and his wheels on ITV Central News tonight at 6:15pm. Meanwhile, watch our free video of Ollie setting off on his way! I wonder if the Captain of the Titanic got up to this media malarky.

Master Fox Posted 3 April 2008 Posted 3 April 2008 Thats Emsie Lou on the steps isnt it?Stalking again That kid is seriously disturbed. Those McCarthy voodoo dolls were weird weren't they. I can imagine her sitting in a darkened room torturing hamsters and doing faeces finger painting portraits of Iain Hume.

mancunianfox Posted 3 April 2008 Posted 3 April 2008 Would it be too much to ask that he kept his mouth shut once in a while? I really don't know if I can suffer it next season as well.

Not wanting to prejudge it but presumably they wont just show him driving it they'll interview him, now he didn't have to agree to an interview did he? Oh what a shot in the dark that the media all just 'happen' to be there when he turned up unplanned in this car. Love the coincidence of the number plate as well. I've no problem with any manager talking to the press and raising the profile of the club, even trying to take away some of the pressure off the players but it comes across as not taking seriously the position we're in when it's over done.
Koke Posted 3 April 2008 Posted 3 April 2008 The interviews are 5, max 10, minutes. It's not like he's neglecting Leicester City. I really don't see the big problem in this.

Interview or not, I think we can take it for granted that he seriously doesn't want us to be relegated.

Not to me it doesn't, particularly. Holloway's success as a manager is inextricably linked with him being light-hearted and fostering a good team spirit. That stunt today is a part of that. As for his other engagements like on talksport - why the fuck not?
jonw88 Posted 3 April 2008 Posted 3 April 2008 I've been watching it but he hasnt been on yet, was meant to be at 6.15 right? Maybe the OS made it up to make it seem more important that it actually is..
