Kilworthfox Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 I tell you what, let's all have a groupie. Whey! nice1
Sods Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 I saw someone crying their eyes out on the way out of Wembley when we lost to Spurs in the league cup. Personally I think it's a bit pathetic. So no. Thats not pathetic. A team for of heros. Playing at Wembley. Cup Final. Last Minute. fook you. To be honest i wouldn't cry, i see league 1 as a step towards the premiership.
Daggers Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 Thats not pathetic. A team for of heros. Playing at Wembley. Cup Final. Last Minute. fook you. I'm with Futts. Crying at loss or relegation is not something I understand at all. Now those old boys who fought in the war, when they walk by the front of the Kop I well up - proper emotion about proper loss.
Webbo Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 Thats not pathetic. A team for of heros. Playing at Wembley. Cup Final. Last Minute. fook you. Don't be nasty
Durnerz Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 I cry when I saw the price of Balti Pies. So who knows what relegation would do to me
Bert Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 If people have said yes, then they're lying, because generally you can't control whether you cry or not i don't think.
Thracian Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 Even now I've no idea why we should go down with our squad of players nor do I think we should ever have got into this position. People have asked would I still want Holloway should we be relegated and, truth is, our record under Holloway, both with a new team and with the old one has been close to appalling. If I'd been manager and had failed to score in 10 games out of 17 since January 5, won just eight games in 28 overall and taken a close to relegation form 30 points from 27 games available despite having decent financial backing and some reasonably high profile players, I'd have been pilloried. More than that, despite considerable re-investment, we've not gone upwards in the League but have drifted in and out of the relegation places to the point where our survival in the Championship looks no more likely than it did under Kelly who, for all his negativity, at least he had the constraints of a shoestring budget. Yes we were robbed but I was certain we'd lose at Sheffield after Holloway made his press remarks about winning comfortably. I wasn't impressed with the public criticism of players early on in Holloway's managership, I think our tactics have cost us points on at least five occasions and you all know what I feel about the forfeiting of goals and quality free-kicks from the left side and our continual lack of pace in the side. Little things matter and we are finding out why now. I really see no excuse for our position - even the two points we needlessly and indefensibly threw away against Charlton might well be the difference between survival and the ignominy of relegation - but I do see reasons, not least of which is our continued failure to deal effectively with longstanding problems. In particular a lack of pace, the lack of a consistent goalscoring partner for Howard, our failure to get numbers in the box, our lack of a proper left winger, our loss of creativity from left back and the poor levels of fitness of fringe players through their being left inactive for too long. So you can bet I'll be distraught if we go down because it would be so unnecessary. After the indefensible mess of our first half season I've no idea how we could bring in the players we have and go backwards. I've said it before, any manager would love to have the sort of squad we've got, or have had available, this season. From Holloway's point of view the bright thing now would be to make sure we don't get relegated and that there's no need for tears.
Tevez Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 I'll be gutted but you can't really control crying I guess. I'll just be like the guy sitting in the football stadium with his dog listening to Dry your eyes mate.
davieG Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 WTF - It's just a game of footy, a pastime, something to get you out of the house, something you do when you can't play yourself for whatever reason, a laugh, somewhere to shout, let off steam, somewhere to show everyone what shoes you where, an excuse to have pint or two, something to break the afternoon/evening up when you're out having a drink with mates, somewhere to be entertained, ok skip that one. It's not a matter of life and death, no Shanks it really isn't. Losing a close relative is for crying not losing a football match!
FilboFox Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 No... I never cry over football... there are MUCH more important things in life BUT I would be EXTREMELY upset and feel very down over it. But I don't think it'll happen so I'll be fine!

Unabomber Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 I would just go out and get pissed. If I was going to cry it would certainly be after the countless number of pints.
Dames Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 I'd laugh and then blame it on someone/something/dodgy decision 3 months ago. What else could you really do?

Daggers Posted 7 April 2008 Posted 7 April 2008 I was starting Disco Bob's sexy protest. You fooking were not. Sexy protest is all about getting sexy in a nudey way on a football field - not getting gay in an airport.

DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 8 April 2008 Posted 8 April 2008 No, I take relgation quite well generally as long as we deserve it. Which we always have in my lifetime and defintley will this time should we go down. Great post. I will just be dejected when I tell people how we didn't deserve it because we lost to the "powerhouses of the Championship" that are Sheffield Wednesday and Colchester United
