I know this doesn't justify a thread of its own but what the heck

Saturday afternoon I am off to South America for 3 weeks. I will miss the end of the season (thus increasing my life expectancy through lack of heart attack).

Just wanted to say I really really hope we can pull through this and stay up. I know everyone is behind the team, we've had enough rallying calls to make Tom McRae stir in his grave. >_<

Come on you blue boys - if we can get promoted to the premiership with Kevin Poole, Mike Whitlow, Lee Philpott, Jimmy Willis, Iwan Roberts and Ian Ormondroyd I'll be damned if we can't stay in the Championship with Patrick Kisnorbo, Matt Oakley, DJ Campbell, Steve Howard, Lee Hendrie and others. There's enough talent there to do the job, we just have to pray they can find the chemistry and the desire within them, and that Ollie can bring it out of them.

As you're standing holding your flags at Barnsley, think of that Steve Claridge goal hitting the net and realise what Leicester means to all of us. It would be a tragedy to be relegated. I know we can do this. :scarf:

See you in 3 weeks, hopefully as a Championship side.

Have fun mate and we arent at all envious that you`ll be on some beach looking at the wazzers of the local beauties before making a move to show them how you do it "Leicester Style".

Have fun you barsteward.

I have no more idea of who you are than any of the other people on here who are to me merely names on a computer screen, but that won't stop me from hoping you have a lovely time.

Have a blinder Monk, you lucky bastard!

Talking of Tom McRae, there's a singer/songwriter of that name who i've recently been listening too and some of his songs are very touching. " I ain't scared of Lightning " is particularly good if anyones interested, might be apt with our predicament - " I ain't scared of Barnsley "

How come you got that many holidays? I admit, I'm jealous - not! I'll be off to England lol and the States in about 6 weeks time myself (hopefully). And I could even do with another trip back to my second home, Vancouver.

Winnipeg's a shithole, I'm afraid. Darn cold in winter and sweaty and sticky during Summer. Also, the Black Flies are a pest and I think you could still encounter some in September/October. The city doesn't really have a lot to offer. Wander around a bit, check out the Forks, the Red River and try to find that Blue House on Assiniboine Ave!

Vancouver's entirely different and will be much more to your gusto. It's a lovely city. So many things to see, so many places to go. Truly vibrant, with an eclectic mix of Caucasians and Asians alike - the city boasts the 2nd largest Chinatown outside mainland China (behind Frisco). Tons of Japanese, Koreans there. Thousands of language students from all across the globe, especially Germans, Swiss, Brazilians and Mexicans. There's a fair abundance of nice beaches, although you'll probably get there when the rain season has already started. Don't expect pretty weather as Vancouver's well-known for its round-the-year precipitation! Everything's accessible within a matter of minutes (even by foot), if you're already out whale watching at the Aquarium, try Stanley Park and go for a stroll along the shores of the Inlet. The University of British Columbia campus is huge (40'000+ students)! West Vancouver's full with nice mansions, the drive across the Lions Gate Bridge slightly exciting. Tons of night clubs on Burrard, shopping's taking place on Robson. Very good restaurants on Commercial Drive, or try Anton's on Hastings (in Burnaby, East of Vancouver). Then there's the Harbourfront, the Skytrain (there's a brand-new line connecting to the airport, exclusively built for the 2010 Olympics). If you have enough spare time, visit Whistler or simply drive along the Northwestern shore and enjoy the gorgeous view onto the rugged landscape. Steveston (South of Vancouver, at the edge of Richmond) is worth a stroll along the harbour, too. Or White Rock with its posh houses.

Yes, I miss that city.

Monk - let me know by what time you're supposed to be in VanCity or San Fran - we might encounter each other over there!! If everything goes according to plan, I should be in Frisco starting in the middle of October or towards the end of it. Also, if you need any more advice on other cities in (Western) Canada, hit me up!

Don't call SanFransisco SanFran to a local. They hate it.

The city is my fave in the whole world. Take a drive down route 1, breathtaking.
