Daggers Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 The season is as good as over - what the hell are you going to do with your time this year with no football? Airfix model kits? Circumnavigating the globe on a space hopper? Going for a record for the most amount of ants in a pocket? I've got to alphabetise my record collection after ordering it in genres. There's a bike in the shed that needs stripping and assembling, and there's a whole load of road miles to be done. And you know what - I'm getting excited about the first pre-season friendly in the late summer sun

I love the summer. Ah yes, the art of the pre-season friendly. Hopefully we get a few decent teams this year and half of them won't be rained off.
davieG Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 There's a wife in the shed that needs stripping and assembling, and there's a whole load of road miles to be done. And you know what - I'm getting excited about the first pre-season friendly in the late summer sun You run a hard ship there Capt'n Disco
Daggers Posted 21 April 2008 Author Posted 21 April 2008 You run a hard ship there Capt'n Disco Wife? In my shed? What kind of anarchy is that? The wife is allowed nowhere near my damn shed because it is a fundamental law. The boy is allowed in as part of an ongoing process towards his coming of age, where he will be presented with a Black & Decker Workmate. Wives in sheds - what nonsense!

Daggers Posted 21 April 2008 Author Posted 21 April 2008 Also summer is when pretty girls put less clothes on!! ...and a lot of men paste themselves with lotion and walk around without shirts on I'm in favour of mandatory puffa jackets during summer.
SamL Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Going on holidayWatching Spain win Euro 2008 Wimbledon The Open Playing football down the park (Heaven) Hopefully the weather will be up to it this year. Wasn't that great last year was it? Then again, I play football down the park in any weather Wimbledon should be pretty good this year. I look forward to some new exciting players signing. Might be waiting a while though.

I prefer to play in colder conditions, you don't feel as tired and have to stop for drinks every few minutes. Don't mind summer football though.

Don't mind summer football though. Yeah I know what you mean mate. I remember last summer, I played football for pretty much the whole day and I was nackered. I didn't intake enough fluids which meant that when I went in for a slide tackle my legs would cramp up. It was agony. The good thing about football is that it can be played in pretty much any weather. I've played in the hail before, I'm mad.
hairy Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Cold beer on a hot day. Discovering the garden again. Light evenings. The transfer window opening. Music festivals.
purpleronnie Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Man did I receive some aggro from another forum for suggesting i'm looking forward to EURO 2008 because england were out, some people dont understand that not watching england fail is a good thing. Not sure how they will broadcast it over here or what times the matches will be on...if at all.
Trumpet Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Turning 18. Staying out late. Marking my 18th with Leeds Festival. God knows what else, probably just drinking, legally, in the sunshine I should hope!
Uncle Albert Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 I knew I forgot one from my list... Fishing. Nothing better than being down by the river with you mates.
Trumpet Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 Forecast: "Tuesday will be warmer still, with the mercury likely to head up to around 18°c in the south, under sunnier skies. Watch out too for more warmth this weekend - still a long way off but temperatures could break 20°c..." Lovely stuff!
Trumpet Posted 21 April 2008 Posted 21 April 2008 I knew I forgot one from my list...Fishing. Nothing better than being down by the river with you mates. I missed that one out! Didn't get the chance last year, with work and bad weather. I'll be purchasing some new kit soon and i'll be fishing all summer, can't beat it.

What? No town centres being over-run by hordes of drunken-xenophobe assholes, bent on damaging the local Greek restaurant or Citroen car. It's going to be dreadful
