step Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Concider The tactics Player selection Players bought Players playing out of position Motivational skills and most importantly this seasons results Then let us know. If we do not get relegated and ollie lasts until this time next season. where do you think we will be. Relegation? I think so
General lee Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Mid table if we're in the championship still but if we did go down. Then playoffs would be a must.
Steven Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Which league? If we assume the Fizzy then I see no reason to believe that if IH stays next season that things will be any different from this season. In other words another relegation fight.

In other words another relegation fight. I don't know about that because it's been a horrible season for all of us but with a pre season under ollie and a clear out and players being brought in. We could kick on for next season and finish in a respectful top half finish. Play offs would be nice but lets just take 1 step at a time for now.

But we are one step from relegation
General lee Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 One step at a time, is ok. But we are one step from relegation I'm on about next season, if we go down then yes playoffs is a must but if we stay up then midtable would be a welcome change.
Chrysalis Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 I say lower half, his form isnt relegation form but its not much better.
renards Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Daft question. My answer is IF he stays we will be in the bottom half, unless he's got some ability he has hidden very well up to now. There is however no way he will be here with us in the bottom half this time next season. He will make a very good impression quickly or go. I give him 4-6 games next season. I hope i'm wrong, he may be a clown but won me over with his celebration after Saturdays goal. A draw against a very poor relegated side, followed by a unconvincing 1-0 win agaist a knackered Barnsley (as well as playing 5 different players on the right wing) I'm not getting carried away
FilboFox Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 I think that we'll finish mid-table, if not play-off places... we just need the summer to re-organise.
Corky Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 If we stay up, I think mid-table/lower top-half. Can't see play-offs to be honest, but I hope I'm pleasantly surprised
AyewJoking Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 I'd hope mid table but god knows. Hopefully, Milan will swing the axe if there isnt a sizeable improvement on the pitch nex season. I know yet another manager and the upheaval that comes with it is hardly going to help us but I think Ollie is a plonker.

I don't think he's a clown, it's just that this job is probably too big for him. At his other clubs he's never had this sort of support in the stadium every week or the expectation.
harpendenfox Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Momentum is everything. I'd be prepared to say that with the same group of players if were to win two and draw one of our first three games confidence would seep through the squad, and we'd be in the top 8 all season. We have a more than adequate squad. We simply don't have any confidence

We have a more than adequate squad. We simply don't have any confidence There aren't many teams who have the luxury of staying in the top 8 for the whole of the season, given how tight the league is. I very much doubt that will happen to us under Holloway. I think the best we could hope for is he starts to get the team playing with the ethos he preaches to and if that's the case then we could be in with a shout of a top 10 position. If he still struggles to mould the players in to his unique style then we'll be furtling about the relegation zone again. I wouldn't even contemplate taking the risk, but then again we've seen no improvement as a club in the regular changing of managers.

Ollie talks a tough game, and even though were in the shit were in, still talks about promotion and that will be his downfall Next season he will be preaching promotion and fan's expectation will be pushed further, and i don't Mandaric or the fans will be so patient. If Ollie wants a future at city either get us prmoted or start talking sense!!

If Ollie wants a future at city either get us prmoted or start talking sense!! Absolutely, I just don't see any improvement what so ever from this team under Holloway since November, even a small one. That's why I don't envisage a Hull City like turnaround next season. Ollie has his strengths as a manager and motivation is one of them, but that has escaped him here and without that what is he? A comical figurehead who get's the club coverage in the papers and on TV. Brilliant, just what we need, as if our chairman doesn't do that with natural ease anyway. I've been impressed with some of the signings, but most of those i've been impressed with have then been a disappointment, possibly due to Holloway's inability to get them to perform. Ollie has always done his business at small clubs where reputations and big names don't tend to exist so he can mould his squad the way he wants it. Here, he can attract players who have achieved things at a higher level and know what it's like to play for quality managers and his management may leave these lads somewhat bewildred, that's a big worry for me. It was the same with Martin Allen, I didn't see how a manager of his character and behaviour could get certain players to go that extra mile for him. I hope i'm wrong with Holloway and next season is the real deal, but how anyone can be confident of that is surprising me somewhat.

I agree Ric, sometimes it's easier to manage and motivate when there is no expectation, certain words or vocabulary and give the weak some hope, but with those who have ability, some cheap words and wise cracks will only entertain rather then motivate????

Most definitely. I get frustrated and angry that the likes of Steve Howard and Matt Oakley, come here and under-achieve when last season they were two of the best players in this whole division. I know it's not all down to Ollie, the players have to take responsibility, but if you cannot relate to your manager it's often damn hard to find the sometimes hidden resources that makes you perform at your highest optimum.

Well there will no excuses next season, he has all summer to get rid of those that he thinks have not performed or pulled there weight, and bring in those that will take us forward. The amount he will be given to spend will also indicate how confident Mandaric is with him aswell!!!

I think we expect too much of Howard, he's a lower league striker that had the season of his life last season similar to Dickov in our promotion season, he reached the peek of his career and it's all downhill now and we've got to suffer it. No excuses in Oakleys case though.

lavrentis Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 If i could see into the future I would tell you but I don't know!!! I put mid table though
maddog Posted 23 April 2008 Posted 23 April 2008 Bottom half if we stick with Ollie which won't be good enough. Sack him straight after the Stoke game please Milan.
