AjcW Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 We're not going to prize Nigie off his nice cushy job with Northern Ireland now... we had our chance I have a theory. Number of foreign managers in the championship... zero. number in league 1 Mr Roberto Martinez (how freeking successful has he been would love him here) he has bought foreign players and a foreign footballing style to a league not used to it and it has worked fantasticaly well. hes been my choice for a while now. i think a foreign manager with a foreign footballing style is something that could well be succesful in this league. anyone else think this is a good shout and a good theory
Benjani Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Dowie. Although he can't speak properly! Anyone, it's all down to luck whether they do well here or not. Holloway is a good manager but not here. Micky Adams did well here and maybe not as well as Cov. Phil Brown was absolutely poor at Derby but is doing well at Hull now. POT LUCK!
Corky Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Other: Micky Adams Howard on the wing, Henderson hoofing it out to him. Bring it on!
Benjani Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Sven That was a joke wan't it? When people have suggested him on here they ent being serious! Why would he come here, are you having a laugh
lavrentis Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I'd have Ince as he's done well at MK or Grayson as he has done well at Blackpool with low funds.
Father Ted Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Howard on the wing, Henderson hoofing it out to him. Bring it on! In a great Scowcroft-esque role!
Thracian Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Paul Ince Brilliant if we could get him. Pity we didn't get him before. If it's likely to be Davies, Dowie or Walsh I shall apply myself!!!!! What's the criteria for appointment? Win ratios? Championships won? Who promises to sign the most players? Who turns up in the smartest tie? Give me a clue. Cos I've no idea why some of our managers were appointed.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 John Collins. Paul Ince. Darren Ferguson. (Probably the riskiest). Joe Royle. Jean Tigana.
Daggers Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I think you'll find that if we hoof Holloway out the door then I am probably going to be the best option that would even consider the job. Not one manager mentioned in this thread so far would come here now. ...and Walsh is a ****ing joke of a suggestion

Flynny Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I think you'll find that if we hoof Holloway out the door then I am probably going to be the best option that would even consider the job. I could just about see your point if we stayed up, but if we got relegated sacking Ollie would look even less unreasonable.
Daggers Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I could just about see your point if we stayed up, but if we got relegated sacking Ollie would look even less unreasonable. Regardless - I reckon he's a dead man walking. We'll find out soon enough if anyone aside from Dowie will come here.
maddog Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Allardyce or Walsh and Taggs. Anyone in between would be another useless tactical inept joke. It's the opposite ends on the scale. If we can't get Allardyce we get Walsh, simple. We need a fantastic, experienced manager like Allardyce to save our club, someone who has massively achieved. I fear anyone else and it will just be another faliure. Walsh and Taggs or Allardyce. We have seen the mediocre manager faliures this season. Ollie, Allen, Megson, Burrows. Allardyce or the Leicester Legends.
Simi Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I must say, I honestly have got past the point of caring. Steve Walsh, for a laugh.

Joe. Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I think it will actually be Dowie honestly. Holloway's time is up at the end of the season I reckon, whether we're up or down.
AmericanScott Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 When i was on the bus home today, i caught out the corner of my eye a flashy automobile with the license plate "ROYLE". And no, I'm not kidding
Simi Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I must say, I honestly have got past the point of caring.Steve Walsh, for a laugh. Scrap that. Let's go foreign. Errrr...Frank De Boer.
