Pick one from each and say why you selected them.

If I missed anyone tough! :P

Went for Fulop for the summer signing, as he performed excellently for us, and kept many a clean sheet. Just a shame that he was called back to Sunderland, to play just the one game for them.

Went for Hendrie for January as he was one of the few who actually looked like they cared, this with his technical ability, meant he stood out for me in terms of what he did for the club. Just a shame he was injured for the last couple of the days, Lee definetly has the quality to pick the right pass, unlike many others at the club.

It is starkly frightening, when looked at that way, just how many poor value signings we did make either because of injury or, far more often, lack of sufficient ability or commitment.

It could even be argued that Fulop was the only shining light.

Due diligence! The club could have saved millions.

Voted for the same two for exactly the same reasons.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Due diligence hardly applies in this case does it? A footballer is hardly a black and white statistic.

If only we'd played Louis Dodds and the rest of the Doddettes.

Is this best or worst signing?

I don't get it...

It's just for fun although looking at that list it's not funny - just find your own reason for picking someone.

Worst, Best, Good looking, big boy, funny, sad, legend, leg end, twat what ever. The list in itself is the point of the poll.

Hardly hindsight - I think I first mentioned our need to be more careful with who we sign not more than a few weeks into the season.

And while any chairman/manager is almost bound to make the odd mistake due to bad luck or bad judgement our miserable list goes way beyond that.

Adda Djeziri & Marco Ferreira - we took them on loan, tried them and sent them home. Nothing lost.

Hossein Kaebi, Sergio Hellings, Jimmy Nielsen - Were signed by a ****ing moron

Radostin Kishishev, Carl Cort, Shaun Newton, Bruno N'Gotty - we all said 'Too old' or 'Too crap', signed by the same ****ing moron

Ricky Sappletizer, Jonny Hayes - Maybe they will prove to be decent signings for the future

Stephen Clemence, DJ Campbell - Utter disappointment, the biggest waste of money

Clive Clark, Marton Fulop - Great loan signings, a shame we break all the toys other teams send us

James Chambers - I still don't understand what happened? He offered us pace to support the attack, passing and defensive abilities and yet we played him in left-midfield then hid him in a cupboard.

Steve Howard, Barry Hayles, Matt Oakley - Nowhere near justifying their salaries

Zsolt Laczko & Gabor Bori - Nothing ventured nothing gained

Ben Alnwick, Lee Hendrie - Could have been crucial to us were it not for the injuries

Jamie Clapham, Harry Worley & David Bell - did ok

Kelvin Etuhu - yet another loan injury disaster

So the bulk of the disaster were the ones signed in the summer and the bulk of the disappointing ones were signed in January. What is it with us an injuries though - last season was bad but I am sure this season has been nothing short of catastrophic.

I blame the flowers at the training ground.

And Kelly's rolling contract.

Clarke played twice - I even had to check whether his name had an "e" on. I never imagined I'd see his name connected with the word "great".

'Great' obviously applies to the loan, not the player. It was not meant to imply that both players could achieve magnificent things on the international stage - just that a team with their quality would have ensured division status at the very least.

On the second one, i went for Worley. Granted, only saw him play against Stoke, but i thought he looked good. Spotted passes early, didnt make too many mistakes, it was a generally understated but good performance. I think he could be fairly decent this year.

Ada Djzeri because he has a funky name & he never played, therefore he can't be blamed for relegation

Steve Howard, because he's a one match wonder, & will be out on his arse soon :D hopefully,

Fulop and Hendrie could've been much better signings... if we had gotten them earlier on in the season.

It's a shame we couldn't keep Marton and as for Hendrie - I doubt he'll stick with the club in League One.

Other than that, I'm really baffled that we've signed so many (talentless/unmotivated/untested/whatever) players.

The impact they had was little to none.

Shocking management decisions, all in all.

Fulop and none.

Hendrie was as dire as everyone else against Preston, Southampton and Colchester.

I agree with that to an extent, but there were a fair few that at the time it was difficult to argue against. Clemence, for instance, who I didn't miss at all until he was injured and Oakley was disappearing every game.
