Trying to buy a home with my gf in the south east of England.

 

We had an offer accepted on a really nice flat near Gatwick, but after 3 months it turns out the vendor and agent are trying to screw us on the lease and we had to pull out. Taking them to court for our £1000 back and now we've had to move in with my parents because we are homeless. Everywhere else we find we just get outbid by wealthier people.

 

We should move up north, house prices here are hysterical and showing no sign of stopping. Every nice place just gets sold straight away above the asking price because so many people are competing for so few homes.
