Bellend Sebastian Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Gregory Pearson Worthington If that's the shortlist then... I'd be feeling very worried about the future of our club. You're not worried about it anyway? I would be if I weren't past caring
Lillehamring Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Erm...how? Erm...by making a judgement of worthington being a good manager based on him managing us for a few games. seeing out the end of the season is a different thing to getting us out of the 3rd division. i'm not saying he wouldn't do a good job, but i think (hope) he has better attributes and past performance than when he was with us...

Worthington's not the man to get us back up,I will get behind whoever but he'll be gone by Christmas at the latest and we'll be back to square one and doomed to another failed season with worse to come,I'm seriously worried that Mandaric's ditherings are going to destroy this club and he'll just walk away mumbling something like "well I did my best"
Jon the Hat Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I speculate based on nothing at all that Ince is back in the frame having been rejected for the Blackburn job, and realising he might be stuck in the souless faux football club world of MKDont's for another year.

And running scared that he's gonna get called names on the 1st day of the season!
lookwhaticando Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Erm...Glen Hoddle Thought you could hide it from me, eh? Why the small font? Hoddle is a dirty word. Dirty in every sense of the word. Hence, Hoddle is a dirty word in ever sense of the word. Savvy? Right, do one. Craig Levein Would be no worse than many of the names being banded about. From Bentleys.Make of it what you will. I'm pinning my hopes on this academy chap. Perhaps this is why we let Beaglehole sign up to the NI team... preparing the groundwork for a sensational swoop for Worthington, whose job at the IFA would be taken by Beaglehole (with him now being an insider and all).
SamL Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 And? He shouldn't of been pissing around for this long. Should have been sorted weeks ago. This is another error he's made and is carrying on making himself look like a twat. I know, he should have been thinking about who he wanted before he got rid of Holloway. By all means, I wasn't sticking up for the bloke. I'm not the only person he's annoyed and I'm sure I won't be the last. He's made a mess of this club, whether he saved us from administration is irrelevant, he's completely messed us up. I think now is the time for him to step down as Chaiman.

Glenfield Fox Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 And running scared that he's gonna get called names on the 1st day of the season! Yeah, he always struck me as a coward. Never got stuck in, ran away at the first sign of trouble. I hope john the hat is right and Ince does reconsider.
SamL Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I'm sure he was thinking about who he wanted before he got rid of Holloway, but the ones he wanted don't want to come here. So why did he take so long to make an approach for Ince? In future, he should just shut up about stupid deadlines if he can't stick to them.
Raj Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 You're not worried about it anyway?I would be if I weren't past caring I agree. I might be bothered when the season starts but at the moment i have as much enthusiasm for it all as a pea. Im not even too bothered by the new manager's appointment,as im sure whoever it is will get slated anyway!!!
Daggers Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I speculate based on nothing at all that Ince is back in the frame having been rejected for the Blackburn job, and realising he might be stuck in the souless faux football club world of MKDont's for another year. Grasp away, Mr the Hat. Grasp away.

I imagine Joe isn't just basing it on that, he's also basing it on the fact that he knows enough about Nigel Worthington from his six years as Norwich manager to make a decision. His record with us is just another reason to throw in there. That's completely different to declaring that a footballer no one has heard of is a world beater based on five minutes of You Tube footage.
Flynny Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Bring them all in. Brilliant idea. It'll be like the apprentice. I assume an image like this has been done before but I went ahead and made one anyway:
Joe. That's something like I would have replied to that, only better.
RowlattsFox Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 So why did he take so long to make an approach for Ince? In future, he should just shut up about stupid deadlines if he can't stick to them. Perhaps Ince wasn't his first choice, I think he wanted Davies, or another out of work manager and then once he knew he didnt want it he approached MK Dons for Ince. If he didn't set a deadline then I'm sure we'd all be moaning about not knowing what stage he is at etc. I'd rather him miss a deadline then just appoint anybody because he said he would by now.

I choose to believe this purely out of comfort.
Fox You Forest Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 I choose to believe this purely out of comfort. Me too, Southern Comfort.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 From the Belfast Telegraph: The Belfast Telegraph has learned that Worthington £ who succeeded Lawrie Sanchez when he quit Northern Ireland for Fulham 14 months ago £ is on a three-man shortlist for the Leicester City manager's job. Anyone else like the not-so-subtle hints as to why Worthington might fancy jumping from International to Club (LCFC) management?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Perhaps Ince wasn't his first choice, I think he wanted Davies, or another out of work manager and then once he knew he didnt want it he approached MK Dons for Ince.If he didn't set a deadline then I'm sure we'd all be moaning about not knowing what stage he is at etc. I'd rather him miss a deadline then just appoint anybody because he said he would by now. Well said Rowlatts, I'd agree with that. I hope he's sorting out a compo package rather than appointing an out of work manager. Saying that, I don't think Davis is on the list, although I wish he was. Of the realistic targets, I'd take Wortho. I always get the impression that Pearson is a push-over. Please stop talking about Allardice and Mclaren cus' we're a piece of dog-shit on their shoes. We're in division 3 FFS.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Didn't MK Dons reject our approach though? They did, but it took them a while, which I took (quite possibly wrongly) to mean that they were waiting to see if Ince actually wanted to come or not, which of course he didn't, at the time
Wycombe Fox Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Thirteen months, one season, one relegation, three hundred managers and a squad the size of which the Grand Old Duke of York would've been proud, later and we might be back with Nigel Worthington. Has it all been a bad dream? Laugh or cry...you decide (in best Geordie Big Brother-type voice!) Oh the irony of it all!!!
lookwhaticando Posted 16 June 2008 Posted 16 June 2008 Mandaric does it best when he goes back to a manager he's used before. Think Redknapp. Rob Kelly, anyone?
