Isn't the magic of any draw the fact that two so-called giants could face each other early on? The fact that this may mean that a lesser team is then able to progress is what this game should be all about, not trying to ensure that the bigger teams get an easier ride. The fact they then wrap this up in an excuse about allowing smaller clubs or countries the chance to make money is bollocks.

It's all about money though. The powers-that-be want the bigger teams in it later on for better television audiences, when really it just ruins the competition.

I find it quite amusing, how many people slag Italy off. It would be like me slagging off the Bundesliga, i dont watch any games so i cant comment. They have been in 6 world cup finals winning 4 , 1 European cup, have always produced top players, there youth academy's are always producing top talent, Every owner of the clubs is a Italian, They have more Italian managers in there top league than we have English in ours, A Italian manager is the England manager. Italy were garbage in this years Euro's, but for people who dont watch the league they should not comment, if they do watch it and they dont like it then thats a fair point, i would find it difficult for a football lover to not be impressed with some of the football in Serie A, The premiership is now more defensive than Serie A!!! Italy have and will always be labeled with that defensive tag. Them days seemed to go under Lippi,only to return again in the euro's!!! Besides if England played this way and won 4 world cups, we would not complain, we hardly set the world a light!! Anyway, i am not here to fall out with people or create a arguments, that is just my feelings on this!! It makes me feel ashamed that most of the media just talk bad about other nations all the time, look at most England fans, they are brainwashed by the media. Never ever believe all you read, that saying should be ringing in every England Fans ear by now!!

This is the reason I do not watch Italian football because if I did I would be fallng asleep on my Sunday dinner and my Nan would not like that. Italian football may be succesful Nationally because all they do is defend and play on the counter attack but this is failing now because they are now not good enough to do this. They just managed to scrape a penalty shoot-out against Spain. At domestic level Italian teams are very boring, can you remember the 2003 Champions League Final? I cant it was that boring I turned it off. Two apparent 'Italian Giants' in a boring draw both playing for penalties. I am failing to understand how you can say that the Premier League is more defensive than Serie A, especially when the Premier League has some of the worlds best strikers playing in this League and they are consistently scoring goals. Ronaldo 31 League goals, Torres 20+ and Adeybayor 20+, this compared to two strikers in Italy who only managed to pass 20 League goals and these two players fail to get into there National sides.
