Jonezy Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 He is right back isn't he? We already have Chambers.... seems odd.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 Wouldn't mind Gilbert here. Would rather see Chambers start if I'm honest, but both are quite versatile.

We do need cover for that position. sounds stupid really, this club was full of RB a while back. Now weve got chambers and thats about it. i think we need competition for places this year, to keep players on there toes, and if people play badly they should be dropped regardless of their name. i.e. Howard last year could do fook all and still get in the sqaud every game. that needs to change.

Yeah, and if Gilbert was cover for Chambers, I'd be very optimistic. That's a couple of "promotion quality" full backs there. We do needs a new striker in soon though.
teblin Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 He played left back for cardiff i think. He did against us.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 He played left back for cardiff i think. He did against us. Can play right back as well though can't he?
sham Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 He played left back for cardiff i think. He did against us. Yes he did and then got moved to the right back position... his natural position. http://www.arsenal.com/player.asp?thisNav=...21&cpid=703 look at the month of december
davieG Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 If we need another right back lets get one who's going to stay with us I hate these fly be night loans.
J.Lisemore Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 wouldnt mind him here...got bags of pace and good at getting forward.
dog_4 Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 with tunchev and hopefully Ian Harte also joining, i'm starting to think our defence will be better than last year.
lildave3 Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 with tunchev and hopefully Ian Harte also joining, i'm starting to think our defence will be better than last year. Nobody knows how good Tunchev will actually be. And as for Ian Harte, well.
dog_4 Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 well gilbert a pacy wingback, ian harte a free kick specialist and tunchev is an international and captain for his club side. Also got the highly rated worley and morrison, along with Mattock and kisnorbo. If we sign them three then we then atleast need anouther 4 players. 2 midfielders, 2 stikers and a goalkeeper please.

RowlattsFox Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 He looked a good player a couple of years ago but has lost his way a little I think in the last couple of seasons. He got into some personal problems at Cardiff if I remember correctly which lead to his loan spell being cancelled, he went on loan to Southend last season, not sure how that worked out.
brookfox Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 He got into some personal problems at Cardiff if I remember correctly which lead to his loan spell being cancelled, he went on loan to Southend last season, not sure how that worked out. Didn't he fall out with the manager and only play a few times?! Similar attitude to our last loan signing from Arsenal perhaps...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 My Arsenal-supporting mate reckons he has big attitude problems.
Jonezy Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 I don't understand why we dont just sign Gael Clichy We are too big for him obviously.....
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 July 2008 Posted 7 July 2008 My Arsenal-supporting mate reckons he has big attitude problems. Don't want him here then. The squad actually sounds positive at the minute, don't want some loanee ruining it. I don't understand why we dont just sign Gael Clichy Yes please.
