Daggers Posted 27 August 2008 Posted 27 August 2008 Get back on topic. Is that it? Shit. What do they teach children these days?
Milky Posted 27 August 2008 Posted 27 August 2008 King passed thre ball well today and played well.Imo, Weso was average, kept giving the ball away, but made some good tackles. Weso hasn't quite progressed to that next level. Bit worrying.
Lovejoy Posted 27 August 2008 Posted 27 August 2008 Weso hasn't quite progressed to that next level. Bit worrying. Today was the worst I've ever seen him.
Milky Posted 27 August 2008 Posted 27 August 2008 Today was the worst I've ever seen him. I think he needs game time, but with no reserves league he probably won't get it.
lildave3 Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 THAT'S what he offers, sheer elation when popping up with a goal.
JakeShingler Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 King was quality tonight I thought. I agree with a quality goal
Raj Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 I dont want to ignite this topic again and i realise the original poster was just posing a question BUT please could we give the youngsters a break and not question what they do for Leicester? I dont mind people hammering the more experienced players(especially fatty Howard!) but as Wacko Jacko would say....Leave the Kids alone!!...(Or was that Pink Flloyd who said it!???)

Well it certaintly wasn't Garry Glitter who said it
Anish Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 King had good and bad spells yesterday. He made a couple of great passes but also gave the ball away cheaply at times. I think he's worth his place in the team but there are improvements to be made. I don't think Weso has improved much over the last few years. He also gave the ball away cheaply last night. Plus the 2 goals that Fulham scored at the end were shots from the edge of the area, so one of King or Weso should've been there to make a tackle or a block.
Uncle Albert Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 Today was the worst I've ever seen him. Jog on.
bigneville Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 Last night was the best i've seen King. Took him a while to get going. But once he got into his stride and took away his level of respect for Bullard and Murphy. He proved he could handle them. Seeing as he was up against two premiership quality midfielders, he was great last night, and scored a very well taken goal.
Stevosevic Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 He's so good, we had to have a King on the bench too.
Lovejoy Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 Jog on. You do rrealise that was about Wesolowski yeah?
Halfsy Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 I'm happy to admit that i haven't read the previous six pages of this poor topic. Andy King is a quality footballer at this level, he is technically very good with good vision and passing ability. We look very balanced in midfield with Kingy and Oakley and two attacking wingers. I really can't understand why after just five competitive games this season that a 19 year old who has progressed through the reserve side is being put under scrutiny, when DJ Campbell for example, who cost the club up to £2.1 million receives very little criticism. Last night King was fantastic and he deserved his goal for an excellent start to the season. Andy King, Andy King, Andy, Andy King. He gets the ball and scores a goal, Andy, Andy King!
martyn Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 Last night was the first time I've seen King. When he was in possession he was tidy and obviously he scored a lovely goal but, where was he for large periods of the game?? I said to my dad after he scored that he'd do a couple of nice things (fed in Howard on the inside left position with a nice reverse pass first half) but would then go missing for 20/25 minute spells. Clearly, he has a bit of potential but he needs to try and get more involved in games if he's to make a real difference. And as for Weso, yes he was dismal first half yesterday and way off the pace but second half he was fantastic, breaking up play and using the ball sensibly.
Nugent Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 I think he deserves his place in the starting line-up, he's earned it.He's not spectacular but he does his job well without any fuss. Good player.

Sounded to me as if King was trying hard to back up the attack last night, particularly second half and, with Weso hardly being a noted attacker, you'd have thought he would have had defensive responsibility when this happened. I've referred to the way King and Oakley seem to cog in naturally with the one covering for the other whenever they go forward. This does not seem to have happened last night and, sadly, we always seem to concede when Weso plays. Perhaps it's coincidence becausse Weso's a decent player but having complimentary midfielders is a big bonus.
Uncle Albert Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 You do rrealise that was about Wesolowski yeah? Yea I do.
David Guiza Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 I think he deserves his place in the starting line-up, he's earned it.He's not spectacular but he does his job well without any fuss.Good player. Agreed On a random point i saw Michael Morrison in Game up town earlier and and then went on to se Kishishev and Tunchev in Pilot with a decent looking missus not sure who's it was though and one of the kids was wearing a man utd kit

Weso whilst he was poor, did try and get forward and it worked much like the king/oakley partnership. But you didn't go to the game so can you please stop making massive assumptions on what you thought you heard, it will make things a hell of a lot easier. Thanks.

Thanks. It didn't sound too much like the King/Oakley partnership to me, especially their three goals and various other chances. I don't see how King can be a defender while he's dropping the corner onto Morrison's head from which we should have had a penalty. Or while he's breaking into or close to the penalty area for a goal or a shot or two nor while he's providing a penalty-area presence during the action that led to Dickov's goal. Or are you saying these things didn't happen, that the commentators were wrong in saying they did and that there was no need for someone to provide cover? Cos I am damned sure about what I heard. I didn't say Weso was bad though it seems mighty strange that, while some who were there agree with you, several others rated him an above average seven. Seems that even those in attendance saw a totally different player. So stop being so pious. And just be grateful that you were able to be there while I was sitting in a traffic jam at Leicester market caused by three fire engines apparently practising a sodding safety drill among a heap of other things I could have done without and which eventually stopped me getting away in time.

No thracian, most have rated that weso was poor, I don't care if people have a difference of opinion who were there, that's life and football, but you running your mouth off about the Andy King show, and judging a keeper without seeing him last night has done my head in. I don't even know what you are chatting about when you're saying you can't see how king can be a defender and also I never said you said Weso was poor, I stated that as my opinion of last night's game!

I've not judged a keeper on last night or said anything about King's general performance at all. My views on Martin have nothing at all to do with last night. The question was asked, Henderson or Martin?. And I, like others, have said that I cannot see what we are getting in Martin that is so much better than Henderson. If you saw some special qualities last night then fire away.
