HUFCPoolie Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I know it's a little late but i would just like to wish you a safe journey tonight if you are making the trip to tropical Hartlepool... Wrap up warm What are your predictions tonight> Un-biased i think it will be a high scoring game we have now beaten 2 of the teams that came down with you and knocked WBA out of the Carling cup. My prediction is 3-3 with a penalty shoot out to finish. All the best guys you dont deserve to be in this league!
DB11 Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 3-0 LCFC. This might be a good thread for you an' all.

Tilley Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Head says, Hartlepool win, I'm afraid. Wouldn't mind winning this, were out the Carling Cup & will only mkae it through first few rounds of FA Cup, This could be a lovely morale booster.

The People's Hero Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Hard to predict. I just hope we give a few of the fringe players a run out to keep them a bit match-fit and involved. Hartlepool haven't had a bad start so it won't be a walkover by any stretch of the imagination but confidence must be sky-high in the camp right now.
JakeShingler Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Maybe its just called having faith in your team

All the best guys you dont deserve to be in this league! how far did you get last year? is it a cup you're bothered about? will you field a strong team. can't make it tonight, would have sneaked into the corner flag if i had and tasted your delightful beer!!
Unabomber Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 If this is the mentality of your board then enjoy it. chow If you are going to judge the board by one person's comments, it isn't best to use his. Anyway, I think we might win this, but it depends on the team that we play, I don't think Pearson would take anything less than 100% from the players.
Dr The Singh Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Both teams are playing with confidence, let's just see who's wants it the most!!
davieG Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Hi Poolie & welcome As our Manwell said this will be our toughest game so far at this level. Hartlepool have started well and have beaten Colchester 4-2, S****horpe 3-0, Peterborough 1-2 and WBA 3-1. Anyone who underestimates them runs the risk of looking foolish, I'm sure NP wont. We'll need to be at our best with a smooth transition of our international replacements and the same commitment we've now come to expect. I predict a close game with a 1-2 result for us.
leicester ghost Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 leicester to win on pens pool no mugs at home

Johnstone's paint is a cup which most "small" clubs like Hartlepool have a chance of winning, But saying that we got knocked out by Morecombe before. I really don't know what team we will put out, I just want to take the nephew to his first football game before the "big" 3 Middlesbrough, Newcastle or Sunderland grasp him.

Bryn Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I'm personally of the opinion that Hartlepool will be the best side (aside from Fulham) that we've faced this season. I think that if you show as much pluck as Stockport did, you have a chance, especially as we will be fielding a weakened side. However I don't think there's any chance of you putting more than 1 or 2 goals past us. Our defence will probably be at full strength and it's proved itself to be very resilient. I think a lot rides on your own defences, how well you can stymy us. And when we've got Dyer, Gradel etc. hanging around Victoria Park you won't find that easy at all. I expect us to win; a club with our resources is all the time in this league and this cup, fairly naturally. But as I say I think you'll be a big test and if your backline is stout then we might have a game on tonight. I think 2-0 Leicester.

What's this James Brown like? Is he as good as some are saying? He seems to have had a decent scoring record from the wing and now he's moved up front hasn't he? I liked what I saw from him the other week when I saw some highlights of one of your games.
