moseeds Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 has anyone checked Dixy Chicken? Surely he's not small enough to fit in the fryer?
dave_the_fox Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Because i do, and that is that. Agreed. My contact at the club said he had gone missing since last Thursday night!
Father Ted Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 So Levi has suddenly re-appeared again... anybody know where he went?
samlcfc Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 i hope its aight im sure he wouldnt throw down his football career to go walkabouts canoe man style
andyh1884 Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 So Levi has suddenly re-appeared again...anybody know where he went? Perhaps he found a last-minute bargain on Teletext Holidays?
Thracian Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Agreed. My contact at the club said he had gone missing since last Thursday night! Perhaps he'd been told the team for Cheltenham! But at least Pearson seems to be letting him train which is probably the best place for the lad if he's had problems. Didn't someone have Kishishev running round on his own when he got pissed off and made a stray comment?
Hullfox Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Perhaps he'd been told the team for Cheltenham! That would be the team that won 4-0 and was clearly vindicated.
Babylon Posted 4 September 2008 Author Posted 4 September 2008 Perhaps he'd been told the team for Cheltenham! I swear to god you are just itching for things to go wrong so you can start your anti (insert managers name) campaign again. Even when things are going well you make snide comments, trying to pin someones supposed emotional unbalance on the manager. The manager who chose the 2 goal, man of the match in front of little Levi.
Thracian Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 That would be the team that won 4-0 and was clearly vindicated. How do you know we wouldn't have won 6-0 against Cheltenham had Porter played on the wing instead of Dickov, first half? Cos I didn't see us playing especially well until Dickov went off. After all, we did score eight in one of Porter's last games and Cheltenham didn't look to be putting up much more resistance than Quorn! You carry on justifying Dickov on the wing by all means but he didn't look very good to me either against Stockport or Cheltenham. And he didn't sound especially good against Hartlepool either though doubtless you'll have seen it differently.

Jimmy Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 re-Cheltenham if Levi wasn't going to be in the squad maybe he decided not to travel, as we were on the coach that day we saw Patrick Kisnorbo, the 2 stewards from coach 2 went and spoke to him and when they came back he had told them he wanted to go to the game but was told there wasn't room on the team coach, so maybe it was the same for Levi

Corky Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Look at the results. The team selections are vindicated. And that's the key. If the results are good then there is no need for change.

The manager who chose the 2 goal, man of the match in front of little Levi. :D Now who's getting so easily worked up! For the last time, no-one suggested Porter should replace Dyer. And that he won't - whatever he does in all probability - could well be the root cause of his problems, though it's only a guess. Porter plays right wing, left wing or attacking midfield. Dyer's established on the left, Gradel on the right and Oakley is usually captain in midfield. There's no apparent vacancy for anyone. Porter, however, might well expect to replace any of those three as a substitute but instead we prefer to use the Dickov as a duck-out-of-water on the right. Weso will have won the right to first change for Oakley or King and with Dyer remaining unchanged that leaves newboy Adams and old boy Porter twiddling their thumbs. I don't suppose you'd be upset about this were you a player because you'd support the manager whatever. But if I was a footballer of Porter's ability and I'd spent 12 months doing endless hours of exercise and rehabilitation before hitting top form pre-season - then, yes, I'd be pissed off sitting in a stand with no reserve games, no Academy games and the weeks rolling by no matter what I did. PS: None of the above dilutes my admiration for Pearson who's done a splendid job and is clearly our best manager for years, as I've already said, in effect, on countless ocasions. But that doesn't help Porter does it? And by the time, if ever, he gets another chance, his sharpness will have slipped any everyone on here will be saying he's not this or not that just like they said about King last season when he was brought back after rotting for weeks on the sidelines. Like I say, if we don't want to use him, and hell, there ws enough opportunity against Cheltenham and Stockport away, then why not let him go?

Thracian Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Look at the results. The team selections are vindicated. I still don't think our team is at its strongest nor playing at its best by a long way and I'm not the only one to have said that. And whatever the results, I fail to see how Dickov's form on the right vindicates his selection at all. He was simply going to get picked whatever.

Thracian Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 And that's the key. If the results are good then there is no need for change. We did make changes in all our games but let's put it this way. Can anyone offer a footballing reason why you'd play Dickov on a wing instead of Porter apart from the possibility that he's been promised games?
James. Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 I'm actually starting to wish Porter had f**king disappeared. What a load of bollocks.

Not really, but likewise, I wouldn't understand the reason for playing a left-winger on the right. My preferred choice obviously would be Gradel, then Adams. And with the way Dyer is playing, Porter won't get in on the left. Maybe a change of career would be good, like trying out as a goalkeeper?
