Tilley Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 1pm - yeah boy. Martin Gilbert Hobbs Morrison Powell Gradel King Oakley Dyer Fryatt Howard. Easy win, hopefully.
Scow Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Has to be the Tunch over Powell for me. Otherwise the team picks itself really.
Cobbo Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Bloody 1 kick off I have to travel back from Manchester hungover for this!
smokey Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 I can't believe i am putting this but it worked playing Dickov on the wing against Cheltenham so i think it is worth a shot again, with Gradel coming on 2nd half: Hendo Gilbert Morrison Hobbs Tunchev/PowellDickov Oakley King DyerHoward Fryatt but i would like to team to be set out more positive: Hendo Morrison Hobbs TunchevGilbert Oakley King Dyer Howard Dickov Fryatt Never Happen!! Since when have you ever seen Howard play behind the front two??
lildave3 Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 This can't come soon enough:Martin Gilbert Hobbs Tunchev Powell Gradel Oakley King Dyer Howard Fryatt Saves me effort.
Salieri Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Yes, football is back. The proper stuff that is. Been a quite week, what with us doing well and not playing. For me... HendersonGilbert Morrison Hobbs PowellGradel Oakley King DyerFryatt Howard Simple selection for me, Dickov still pushing very hard for a start, but a way to for that yet. Martin hasn't convinced me that much over the games he's played and Henderson is yet to concede(?). Would be nice to see the competition carry on taking place between the pair though. I'd go with that apart from Tunch in for Morrison (if recovered from international duty)
Simi Posted 8 September 2008 Author Posted 8 September 2008 Tunchev didn't look great at left back against Cheltenham. Very hands on and looked uncomfortable for most of the first half. Powell played much more assured and his crossing was much better. For me, he's the better all round option at left back.
Mikey Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Henderson Gilbert Tunchev Hobbs Powell Gradel King Oakley Dyer Howard Fryatt
Sods Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Same as Cheds, however I would swap Martin for Henderson. Think Martin has had a good start, was always going to be a bit shaky at first but I think hes starting to build on his matches and perform better every game. At Cheltenham I thought he was very safe and I knew we wouldn't concede with that Defence. I just am never confident with Henderson between the sticks even though he has grown on me. To be fair, I won't mind which keeper I see, i personally won't lose any sleep over it. The only problem Pearson has is, does he start Dickov on the right and bring Maxi on later against tired legs. Or does he start the lad. Im fully behind Pearson and will see a positive reason for either choice.
Bert Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 This can't come soon enough:Martin Gilbert Hobbs Tunchev Powell Gradel Oakley King Dyer Howard Fryatt Right on sister brother.
James_lcfc Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 HendersonGilbert Tunchev Hobbs Powell Gradel King Oakley Dyer Howard Fryatt Would love it if that was the starting line up come Saturday. Morrison by no means deserved to be dropped but as a few of you had already mentioned, Tunchev just looks more calm and assured, as you would expect given his age/experience advantage. Obviously Hobbs is a guaranteed place....absolute machine! And the midfield/attack picks itself at the moment.
Father Ted Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Henderson Gilbert Morrison Hobbs TunchevGradel King Oakley Dyer Howard Fryatt Subs: Martin, Powell, Weso, DJ, Dickov
Ric Flair Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 This can't come soon enough:Martin Gilbert Hobbs Tunchev Powell Gradel Oakley King Dyer Howard Fryatt That would be my team as well Joe. I can't see Pearson leaving out Morrison though, he's played every minute of every match so far. Pearson thinks he can mould him in to a quality centre back quite quickly, so he'll play as much as Pearson can get out of him. I don't think we can leave out Hobbs or Tunchev though and I don't particularly like Tunchev playing at left back, but i'm sure that's where he'll be slotted in. Gradel has to start for me, he took Millwall to pieces last season and although they may stick 2 men on him, that should open up the rest of the park for Dyer to run amok.
Tilley Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Gradel has to start for me.. Hopefully, he is far more effective than Dickov on the right side. Can't wait for this, Cheltenham seems a while ago!
Ben Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Hendo Gilbert Hobbs Tunchev Powell Gradel Oakley King Dyer Fryatt Howard
lcfc81 Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 People have dropped the Tunch I can't believe it.Even if Hobbs and Morrison are playing brilliantly (which they are) surely he is at least better than Powell? Well, anyway, I would fancy seeing: ----------------Martin Gilbert--Morrison--Hobbs--Tunchev Gradel----King----Oakley---Dyer ----------Howard---Fryatt I'd second this.
Legend_in_blue Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 It's all about The Tunch. Where do you play him? I wouldn't drop either Hobbs or Morrison. And keep Dickov on the bench and not RM. Super Steve to score a hatrick. He deserves it.

Corky Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Big Steve's going for his fourth disallowed goal in four games. Bless him. Would that be a club record?
clazkel Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Never Happen!!Since when have you ever seen Howard play behind the front two?? I haven't (and i know it wont happen), but i would like to as Howard gets drawn into midfield quite often so i think with him knocking the ball on to Dickov and Fryatt would be great!
ozleicester Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 Big Steve's going for his fourth disallowed goal in four games. Bless him. Would that be a club record? 4 goals of any kind in 4 games is a LCFC record
He's not bald Posted 10 September 2008 Posted 10 September 2008 This match cannot come quick enough. It's already 2 hours earlier than it was!
